To Be Beautiful (Stop Motion Adaptation)
Project Overview
Sarah wants to be beautiful - but when she finds an abandoned animatronic in a dump, her wish comes true, just not quite in the way she anticipated.
This project is a short film adaptation of the story of the same name from the first Fazbear Frights book, Into The Pit.
Reading through the plot on this wiki is helpful but not required!
I may push back the deadline, depending on how many people audition.
One person may be cast in multiple roles if they can demonstrate range and acting ability.
Music, animation, photography, script, set, puppets, and everything else will be handled by me! I'm not looking for anyone to fulfill these roles, though if I ever do I will create a CCC page, or update this one.

Sarah is a nice, albeit misguided, teen girl. She used to love baby animals, and has replaced the posters of them on her wall with posters of celebrities she deems much more attractive than herself. Sarah is extremely insecure, and her one wish is to be beautiful.
Her best friend is Abby, who she has known since kindergarten. She has a lot of envy over the "Beautifuls" (made up of the popular girls, Lydia, Jillian, Tabitha, and Emma); and has a big crush on Mason Blair, a dreamy, blue-eyed, blonde-haired boy in her class. Her father left when she was young and her brother is away at college, leaving her with her mother, a social worker.
She does have lines that appear later on in the script that entail very mild vocal strain (i.e. screaming), so please be open to that if you audition for this role! A lot of those more scream-y lines will be edited, as Sarah undergoes quite the change at the end of the story.
[talking to your crush, who you have just spilled a salad on]
(extremely embarrassed, insecure)
Oh my God, I am SO sorry. Here, let me just wipe this off of you... that's better!
(nervous laugh)
I'll just... go back to my chair now.
[having just woken up, taking note of the changes that the animatronic Eleanor has made to your body]
(softly, wowed)
You were able to do all of this... overnight? Change up so much of me just like that? Thank you, it really does mean a lot.
[you're talking to your best friend since Kindergarten, she's worried about your new social circle being a bad influence]
(angrily, distraught)
Can't you see?! I have new friends now, Abby! You're stuck in grade school, but I've moved on! God, sometimes I wish you'd stop thinking about things like horses and rainbows.
Eleanor is an animatronic assistant whose wish is to make all of your dreams come true! Sarah finds her in a junkyard, but after cleaning her off, she offers to grant Sarah's greatest wish - to be beautiful.
Eleanor is based off of the animatronic Circus Baby from the fifth Five Nights at Freddy's Game, Sister Location. Her voice should be natural, but believable enough to have come from a robot - think text-to-speech. Her voice is slightly sinister, though, as she does have ulterior motives.
This character sings a simple nursery rhyme each night, so if you audition, you must be comfortable with singing.
(friendly and peppy)
Hello! My name is Eleanor. I'm your personal fairy godmother! How can I help you, Sarah?
(reassuring, though a bit concerned)
Sarah, that is quite the big change - are you absolutely sure that you want to do this?
(Please make up a tune for these lyrics - you will not be judged on the tune, just try your best to sing it!)
Go to sleep, my sweet Sarah,
Let your mind carry you away.
Let today be put to rest
And let tomorrow be a new day.
Sarah's mom is a supporting character - she's a social worker who has to provide for her family as a single parent, and sometimes her kids can overwhelm her. She's a tad strict on them sometimes, but means well.
[angry, your daughter has just dyed her hair without your permission]
(mad)
Sarah Louise! What did you do to your hair, young lady?
[understanding - you're a single mom, tired at the end of a long day]
It's okay, my dear. Things will get better, I'm sure of it.
[confused as to her daughter's sudden change of appearance, but pleasantly surprised]
(taken aback)
Honey! You look like you're glowing this morning! Did you do something with your hair?
Abby is Sarah's best friend, and is very sweet, light-hearted, and innocent - think Martha Dunstock from the movie Heathers. She's stuck in her past, from Sarah's perspective, but is actually a bright young girl with a passion for activism.
[talking to your best friend]
(relaxed)
Whoa, there! You're early. The movie doesn't start 'till 7, did you want to go get some pizza beforehand?
[a bit worried about your friend's sudden change of appearance]
(tense, anxious)
I know that makeovers can change a lot, but this? Sarah, a lot about you has changed, and I don't know how to feel about it. I'll still be here for you, okay?
[forgiving your best friend after a betrayal]
(sad but accepting)
Sarah, it's okay. I forgive you. I know that we've had some rough times, but we can make it through.
Popular, well-loved, and beautiful in every sense of the word - except on the inside, where they're either rotten to the core, or just empty space with a single fly buzzing around in there. Either way, they're four very well-known and envied teenage girls. Think similar to the Plastics from the movie Mean Girls, or the Heathers from the movie of the same name.
Though these are four characters in the original book (Lydia, Jillian, Tabitha, and Emma), I've decided that they will look very similar in the stop-motion process - meaning that the only thing distinguishing them will be hair and eye color. Because of this, I would just like one voice actress for all four characters, not distinguishing between voices. These four are essentially carbon copies of each other.
A valley-girl accent would be preferred, but I'm open to interpretations.
[questioning the existence of a new, perfect girl who's appeared in your midst]
(a bit taken aback, but curious)
Who are you? Have you gone to this school your whole life? I don't think I've seen you around.
[introducing themselves]
I'm Lydia. This is Jillian, this is Tabitha, and this is Emma.
[your new group member has fallen down on her face]
(ridiculing, cruelly)
(Laughter) Ha, Sarah, that was great! Did you do that on purpose? What a klutz!
A blonde-haired, blue-eyed, dreamboat, Mason Blair is the envy of every boy and crush of every girl (and some boys!) at his school. He's extremely shallow, and his interests in a person boil down to money and looks. His interests are blonde hair, and having blonde hair.
[having just been bumped into, salad spilled over his shirt]
(angrily)
Hey! Watch where you're going, salad girl.
[now noticing the attractiveness of said girl, a few days later]
(intrigued)
Whoa... I guess I never realized how hot you were when you bumped into me the other day. I'm sorry, I guess I probably shouldn't call you salad girl anymore. Say, would you like to get something to eat with me sometime?
