Thomas & Friends roles available for Islandside Adventures
Project Overview
The remaining Thomas & Friends roles that have yet to be casted for my Islandside Adventures series. Their roles in the series are very different. The engines help run the different routes(main and branch lines) and do different tasks to help keep the trains running, The non-rail vehicles help deliver passengers and goods along the road or air, load up cargo, and help build or repair things. The others have other purposes (all different).
More roles will be added soon

Stafford is a battery-electric shunting engine from Sodor that often shunts in all the goods yards on Crotoonia. Stafford is a humble, courteous little chap with a Yorkshire accent. He is a very different sort of engine from any other on the North Western Railway. This is because Stafford is an electric battery engine; he is not a steam engine or a diesel engine. Stafford is fueled by recharging his battery, which needs to be done frequently so he can go about his work as a shunting engine. Stafford is very patient, calm and mannerly. He does not let the antics of the bigger, haughtier engines bother him too much, keeps level-headed as he goes about his day, and brushes off any troubles without much fuss. He is more than content with taking things slow and not having to travel long distances and he is more than proud to work on the Fat Controller's railway. His voice should sound like Keith Wickham.
I'm Stafford, The Electric Engine.
Hey! Come back here!
Oops!
Raul is a feisty little tank engine from sunny Brazil who is an eager competitor. Playful as he is, his competitive nature often proves to be an annoyance in simple things such as playing a game, as he's a bit of a sore loser and doesn't like it when things don't go his way. Additionally, he has a bit of an ego when they do go his way. He also make everything into a contest if he can, using unfair advantages if desperate. After being saved by Thomas during a contest, he later admits that he was hoping to beat him at something after losing the Great Railway Show, but was more satisfied with being friends rather than rivals. He sometimes works at various shunting yards across Crotoonia. His voice should sound like either Rob Rackstraw or Federico Trujillo.
Back up, back up!
Points! Hahaha!
Ah well. You win some. You lose some.
Beau is a mining engine depicted with a mustache, who sometimes works at the Grand Canyon. Beau hails from the American Southwest. This gritty old-timer is able to help Thomas in a moment of need, fixing himself in Thomas' memory and making him forever grateful. His voice should sound like Kerry Shale.
-Well, would ya look at you. No wonder you’re lying in the dust, cowboy. This isn’t The Wild West any more. There’s a speed limit for a reason. Breakdown crane!? Breakdown crane?! (chuckles before speaking) You sure do talk funny. Where y’all from anyway?
-Well, we don’t get many “Breakdown cranes” around here.
-Well, sometimes they just lie in the dust and get dusty, like you. Unless it rains, of course, then they tend to lie there in the mud and get rusty. Heh! Dusty or rusty! (chuckles before speaking) Or, if there’s enough folks to do it, we use people power to lift ‘em back onto the rails.
-Sure. People power, horse power, whatever. Just as long as we can find the people, or the horses! (chuckles)
-Aww, it weren't nothin’.
-Heh, hope you won’t be late for wherever it was you were in such a rush to be gettin’ to now.
-Happy trails! Adios, amigo! (chuckles before speaking) They sure do talk funny. (chuckles).
Kwaku is a kind and friendly engine with a good sense of humour. He is good friends with Nia and was aware that she had lost her engine shed and had nowhere else to go. Like Nia, he is always making sure that his friends' boiler, wheels and any other engine parts are in good working order and that they are being treated well. His voice should sound like Abubakar Salim.
-Use what he says in the Thomas & Friends movie, Big World Big Adventures-

The Chinese Diesel (her real name is unknown at this time) is an engine who works on The Chinese Railway alongside Yong Bao and Hong-Mei. She’s a very kind diesel who is either seen pulling goods trains or working with the breakdown train, whether she and her friends are in China or on Crotoonia. Her voice should sound like Su-Lin Looi.
I met a steam engine from Africa this morning.
Yes. She was heading to Zhangye Danxia.
Yes. The Rainbow Mountains.
Noor Jehan is an Indian diesel engine. She is known for taking visitors on a Tiger Safari in India, in a set of her own coaches. Unlike Rajiv, Noor Jehan doesn't act conceited due to her fancy appearance, and berates the former for his pompous attitude. She is also calm and down-to-earth. Her voice should sound like Sheena Bhattessa.
Just because you have a crown, doesn’t make you royal.
Everyone, keep a look out for tigers.
Shankar is an Indian diesel shunter. Shankar is wise and incredibly sympathetic, but also serious and blunt, always straight to the point. If a plan is there to set things right, he can definitely be counted on if he's in it. He sometimes works in the shunting yards on either the Indian Railway or on Crotoonia. His voice should sound like Sanjeev Bhaskar.
And.......the most hard working.
No, just me, bringing you your cars.
Sorry Thomas, but have you ever thought there may be a reason that tigers are hard to find? They don't want to be found! Because ther are people that want to hunt and capture them.
Caitlin is a streamlined engine, designed for speed. Along with her friend Connor, Caitlin is an excitable and energetic character, who likes to be busy and loves to race. Both Caitlin and Connor are friendly and eager to get other engines to join in the fun with them. Caitlin is particularly impatient and restless if she has nothing to do. She would rather be racing than sit in a station and be idle. Caitlin and Connor were introduced to the island to bring passengers from the mainland. They zip on and off the island frequently using the mainland bridge. She's also a part of the delivery team that runs deliveries of passengers and goods between Crotoonia and the mainland. Her voice should sound like either Rebecca O'Mara or Jules de Jongh.
And I'm Caitlin. We've come for the opening of Ulfstead Castle to bring passengers from the mainland.
Hello Connor. How about a race up tp Ulfstead Castle? Ready. Steady. Go!
I'm going to beat you this time, Connor!
Green Arrow is one of the engines from the National Railway Museum in York. Thomas met him after his unusual arrival on the back of a lorry to find him being repaired in the workshop. Thomas would later help Green Arrow double head a rail tour train and saved him from a serious accident when the railway line from an embankment was undermined. Green Arrow then followed Thomas on the other track and both brought the railtour train safely back to York. Green Arrow is one of the engines brought to Sodor to help out on the mainline when most of the Sudrians were transferred to Crotoonia. He's a good friend to all, and sometimes comes to Crotoonia during the summer months when the workload piles up.
My brothers and I were built to run fast goods trains. But we did it so well, that they let us pull expresses too, in the end. Now I'm the only one of my sort left.
Of course I can! My brothers and I did it during the war!
Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray!
Duchess Of Hamilton is one of the engines from the National Railway Museum in York. She's a kind hearted engine, but there are times when she gets annoyed due to one of the more......arrogant engines boasting and bragging, due to their capabilities. Duchess Of Hamilton is one of the engines brought to Sodor to help out on the mainline when most of the Sudrians were transferred to Crotoonia. She sometimes comes to help out on Crotoonia during the summer months when the workload piles up.
I think someone else should have a turn.
I'm taking a party of vacationers to Gridinia Bay. They're to catch a train to Pinewood Island to attend the island's special Caribbean themed party.
Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray!
Flora is a docile little steam tram who work on The Island of Sodor, most of the time. She mainly works on the Great Waterton Tramway with her very own tram car, which is her pride and joy, that she uses to perform passenger duties. Although she is at times quiet and sometimes timid, se often greets other engines with a sunny smile. She is always cheerful to work, but she can be concerned about speaking up right away if there is a problem. She sometimes is brought over to Crotoonia to help out on the Celgreb City Tram way when either Daisy, Decka or Emery is in the works(after an accident or in for routine maintenance) or busy elsewhere.
Hello Thomas!
That sounds exciting.
Hooray!
Millie is a narrow gauge engine. She has worked on the Earl of Sodor’s Estate Railway for many years. She is very loyal to the Earl and her relationship is like that of a personal servant. They have fun together and are as close as many friends, but there is also a certain formality to their relationship. Millie is a youthful, fun-loving, friendly engine who is full of spirit, and can be fiery when crossed. But she is also fair-minded and never spiteful. That said, she will take it upon herself to teach an uppity engine a lesson, should she feel the need. She always wants to do the best by the Earl and will defer to his judgement in all things, but when it comes to other engines, she has a mind of her own. She is sometimes sent to help out on the Crotoonian Hills Narrow Gauge Railway, usually during the summer. Her voice should sound like Miranda Raison.
Bonjour. My name is Millie. (giggles) You’ve got a smudgy face.
I can’t believe they left that waste for me to move! Hmph! We’ll see about that!
Got to go, lots to do! Au Revoir!
Gabriela is a tank engine who usually works at Guanabara Bay in Brazil. She’s very kind and cheerful, always willing to help out anyone in need, engine or otherwise. She is seen working in the different shunting yards or along the docksides whenever she’s not taking small loads from the docks to the various yards. Her voice should sound like Monica Lopera.

Derek is a jolly, enthusiastic diesel engine, who was brought in to assist Bill, Ben, and BoCo at the China Clay quarry on Sodor. Unfortunately, due to his engine, he is highly prone to teething troubles, namely overheating and suffering frequent breakdowns, for which he is apologetic for the inconvenience. As a result, he spends many a day having his engine tended to. But Derek is a likeable chap and even Bill and Ben decided that they liked him due to his friendly nature. Derek has an infectious charisma, is keen to help anyone around him, and has a passion for sorting things out in a jiffy - if his cooling system lets him.
Hello! I'll soon sort this train out. You pull from the front and I'll push from the back. (chuckles before speaking again) What fun!
Oh my grease and oil! I wasn’t expecting this hill! Oh….what’s that?
I'm overheating again!
Wilbert, formerly named "G. B. Keeling", is a saddle tank engine named after Wilbert Awdry. He is sensible and polite, and does his best to work well. He is also clever and inventive, as seen when he suggested that signal-wire might be used to act as a coupling for a truck once. He is sometimes sent to Crotoonia to help out with extra workload when it backs up.
Yes please, sir!
But what about just one car? I bet I can pull just one car with wire.
I’ve had a wonderful time, but I’m looking forward to getting home. Goodbye, and thank you!
Class 40, or as he now calls himself Maximus, is one of Arnold Finbar’s diesels. He is snobbish and rude, believing that diesel engines are superior and should take over from steam engines, with Cerberus as the only acception. As one of the biggest engines in Arnold Finbar’s private fleet of engines, he is often pulling really heavy goods trains or pulling really long passenger trains.
Not bad. I’ve seen worse. At least you’re all clean.
It’s not your fault, but your controller should scrap you, and get engines like me. A fill of oil, a touch on the starter, and I’m off. No bother. No waiting. They have to fuss around you for hours before you’re ready.
Look at me, Duck and Stepney, now I’ll show you something.
D199, or as he now calls himself Ted, is one of Arnold Finbar’s diesels. He was pompous and rude, and sided with the general belief amongst diesels that steam engines are inferior to diesel power. He is blatantly arrogant, and enjoys bad-mouthing the steam engines. However, he earned the nickname "Spamcan" by a signalman after he failed pulling a train of oil-tankers, and he subsided when the signalman jokingly threatened to cut him up with a tin opener. Ted thought he was more reliable than the steam engines. However, one day he broke down and quickly lost his nickname "Old Reliable". In fact, everyone was rather pleased when he was sent away from Sodor back to the Other Railway. As one of the biggest engines in Arnold Finbar’s private fleet of engines, he is often pulling really heavy goods trains or pulling really long passenger trains.
It’s time, 7101, that we took this railway over.
Not for long. Our controller says steam engines spoil our image.
Nothing ever happens to us. We are reliable.
Cranky is a crane from The Island Of Sodor, working down at Gridinia Bay Docks. Cranky by name and cranky by nature, Cranky is nearly always seen with a grumpy look on his face and can usually be heard muttering about the gulls on his crane arm or the noise of engines below. Cranky hates a lot of things from Salty's stories to being woken up to Charlie's jokes and he loves teasing the engines when things don't go their way. He rarely pays attention to tact due to his perpetual bad temper and this can get him into trouble when doing some important jobs. However, sometimes the good deeds the engines do can lift Cranky's spirits and he's gotten so used to work that he does it with ease. His voice should sound like either Matt Wilkinson(UK) or Glenn Wrage(US).
You're useless little bugs! If you put these freight cars/trucks on the inside lines, then I wouldn't have so far to travel!
These ships can't be kept waiting. They have important cargo. If they miss the tide, they will be delayed in the docks. You should look up to the ships and show more respect. You are, after all, only little.
No. You’ll have to wait your turn. Can’t you see how busy I am? (pause for 2 seconds) I’m coming! I’m coming!
Isla is a Flying Doctor's plane who is always ready for an emergency and has helped many in times of need, but doesn't like to brag about it. When she visits Crotoonia, She often seen delivering medical supplies to and from the mainland and sometimes helps out with emergencies. Her voice should sound like Rachael Miller.
G’day, Shane!
You’re not lost again, are you?
Oh! That’s us! Gotta fly!
Thumper is a heavy-duty quarry machine with two arms and caterpillar treads. He is used for loosening rocks. He is laid back in approach with a "cool dude" attitude, though he can come across as accident-prone. His manner is cool, and no job is too big for him. His old work place, The Sodor Mining Co. AKA Boulder Quarry was closed down some time after the events in the Thomas & Friends episode, Rusty And The Boulder, so he was brought to Crotoonia to help work at the Cliffstone Mountain and Baseline Quarries. He has no original voice due to him never getting a speaking debut. Although, an impression of Brian Drummond as George in the series Dinotrux would be a fitting tone for Thumper, or at least something close to it.
Hey dude. What’s up?
Rock drilling is so awesome, man.
Whoops. Sorry about that, bro.
Patrick is a cement mixer who works for both The Sodor Construction Co. and The Crotoonian Construction Co.. Patrick was found to be quite a boastful soul and thought that concrete made him important, until he was put in his place when he landed in his own concrete. He knows all there is to know about concrete and thinks it is one of the essential means of keeping the building site running. As part of the construction team, Patrick takes pride in his work and makes sure that each job is done correctly. He has been on lots of job sites and knows many different ways to accomplish a task. Patrick will gladly explain how things are done and how they could be done better.
But I’m the most important!
My beautiful concrete!
Mmmm, I might have said something.
A big booming bulldozer, Byron works hard to keep things level on site. His job is to level out the ground with his big blade so that the site is nice and flat for buildings to go on. His pride for his ground clearing skills can make him a tad bit pompous and conceited at times, but he likes to be really useful. His years of experience makes him very wise, and he's always reliable and enthusiastic towards work.
Look at that! A work of art!
What do you think of my trench, Oliver?
I don't need help! Try Kelly The Crane!
Ace "The Racer" is an Australian rally car, who can be a bit full of himself. He thinks he’s cool and clever too, and expects the admiration and support of everyone around him. If it’s not about him, he’s not likely to be interested. Ace is a thrill seeker, who lives for speed and loves to drive dangerously. But he’s not as brave as he’d like you to think, being rather frightened of both wild animals and water. Ace is a dreamer who sees the world as his oyster. If he could only get over himself, he might become a nice guy. His voice should sound like Peter Andre.
G’day mate!
Free and easy, that’s my motto!
Anyway, I haven't got time to wait around here all day. I need to carry on with my speed trials. Ha ha ha.
Jenny Packard is an Irish woman who is an expert at construction work back on Sodor. She helps Bob and Wendy run The Crotoonian Construction Co., which is the biggest construction company on Crotoonia, which has members of Bob's team, The Sodor Construction Co., The Chuggineers, and some other construction vehicles. Her voice should sound like Harriet Kershaw.

Anything she says in Out of Site

Stephen Hatt is Sir Topham Hatt's grandson. He and his sister, Bridget live with their grandparents, Sir Topham and Lady Hatt on Crotoonia for Islandside Advenures. His voices should sound like either William Hope(US) or Matt Wilkinson/Teresa Gallagher(UK)
Look at that! The back engine must be the strongest and the best!
We're ready!
I like going in the sea, but, uhh, I don't like getting my face wet.
Lady Hatt is Sir Topham Hatt's wife. She lives with him and their grandchildren, Stephen and Bridget on Crotoonia for Islandside Adventures. Her voices should sound like either Teresa Gallagher(UK) or Jules De Jongh(US)
It's perfect for my birthday party! You'll look splendid, Topham dear!
It is! So don't be late!
Well, thank you, my dear. I knew this was my special birthday party, but I didn't know it was fancy dress!
Why are you not ready, Spencer? I'll miss my airplane.
There's nothing better than an engine you can rely on.
Thank you, Thomas. Without you, Spencer would have never finished on time.
Oh! He's terribly famous!
Good morning Thomas. I was hoping to have tea with Lady Hatt, but Spencer is far too busy with The Duke Of Boxford. And now, I won't be able to go.
Oh, thank you Thomas!
These coaches are from The Railway Series, more commonly known as Thomas and Friends. They have no original voices, as they have yet to speak in the series. Have to be able to do different voices for this role.
Morning Rex! We're ready to roll!
What a beautiful day!
Ouch! Not so hard, Mike!

Some of the coaches that are seen in Thomas And Friends. During the first season of Thomas And Friends, even the faceless coaches, actually spoke. And so, for Islandside Adventures, I decided to add them to the series. They have no original voice, but whoever auditions for this role must be willing to do more than one coach impression.
You can't get away! You can't get away!
We're going away! We're going away!
You're pulling us well! You're pulling us well!

Morning Spencer. We're ready to go.
Oh my! We're to be pulled by a dirty goods engines?! Ugh!
Careful! We've just been repainted!
Do you think James knows what he's doing?
We won't go with James!
Yay, Duck!
I hope so.
No! Not at all!
Capital idea!
Alice and Mirabel are two Great Western auto coaches from The Little Western branch on Sodor. They were saved from scrap by Sir Topham Hatt. Though they used to be pulled around by just Duck, nowadays they get pulled by all the engines who work on the Crotoonian Seaside Railway on Crotoonia. She has no original voice.
Stop!
That nasty theif! He's stolen our people!
We're coming along! We're coming! along!

Aubrey and Aiden are a pair of coaches Thomas meets in Australia. They often work with Shane. They can be quite cheeky at times. Her voice should sound like Genevieve McCarthy.

He hasn’t turned up yet, Thomas. He should have been here hours ago.

Your accent is so funny! Where you from?
Hey, it’s that engine with the funny accent!.
This oughta be a laughs, eh Aubrey? (laughs)
According to the Railway Series book, Oliver the Western Engine, Ballast Trucks were considered to be the worst of all for a long time, being the rudest of all trucks. This was until Donald and Douglas managed to transform goods traffic on both the Main Line and the Little Western. In addition they stopped their teasing towards Oliver when he pulled S.C. Ruffey, their leader, apart. Their voices should sound like either Ben Small, Christopher Ragland, Rob Rackstraw, William Hope, Lucy Montgomery, Kerry Shale, or Rasmus Hardiker. One has to be able to do multiple voices, not to mention rude sounding.
What right has he to poke his funnel in here! We want Duck! Or Donald! Or Douglas!
(to Pop Goes The Weasel(sing this piece)) Oliver is no use at all, he thinks he's very clever! He says that he can manage us; That's the best joke ever! When he orders us about, With the greatest folly, We just push him down the well... Pop goes old Ollie!
Take care with Mr.Oliver! If you play tricks on him, you’ll never be the same car again.
S.C. Ruffey (affectionately known as and pronounced "Scruffey") is a privately owned ballast truck. He’s the ring leader of all the ballast trucks on Crotoonia. After his incident with Oliver, he was rebuilt and wisely did not disclose the real reason for his damage. And sometime afterwards, he was transferred to Crotoonia to serve as one of the ballast trucks. He has no original voice.
Hold back. Hold back. And pass the word to the others.
Ooooh! I don’t like this!
Ooooooh! I’m comin’ apart!
Neil was a dark green tank engine with an unusual box shape and a Scottish accent. He may be ugly, but he is very kind. The real Neil was scrapped in 1901. But, this Neil is a sort of reincarnated version of the original, built in 1939 so serve in Scotland during WWII. After the ended, he served as a shunter in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was then sold to Barrow-in-Furness to serve as the dedicated shunter for it’s station After WWII ended in 1945. After when he was replaced by a diesel shunter and was facing a scrapper’s torch in 1975, the Crotoonian Railway Board came to Barrow-In-Furness for a shunter/station pilot to serve Celgreb City’s yards and Celgreb City Central itself. Neil happily accepted this offer, and is still working around Celgreb City’s yards and station to this day.
So, yer bound for the wee railway.
Ye must put order into them cars.
Och! Deena fash yerself! I’ll be right back with yer coaches.
Hector (an acronym for "Heavily Engineered Coal Truck On Rails") is a coal hopper truck who is good friends with Thomas and James. Hector used to be mean and aggressive to hide his fear of being filled with coal. Thanks to Thomas, he learned that there was no need to be scared and is now friendly and helpful to the engines.
Anything he says in “Hector The Horrid!”.

Madge is a snub-nosed lorry with a three-wheeled cab and a flatbed. What Madge lacks in elegance, she makes up for in strength and personality. She acts as a motherly figure to the narrow gauge engines, but can be playful and loves a good joke.
Anything she says in “Cool Truckings”
Anything she says in “Wash Behind Your Buffers”
Smudger is a narrow gauge tank engine who used to work on the Mid Sodor Railway and was later turned into a generator due to his tendency to derail frequently for a while before being sold to the Crotoonian Hills Narrow Gauge Railway. Smudger was a complete show-off and often derailed, but refused to listen to advice. Duke warned him to be careful, but he took no notice until he was put in his place by being turned into a generator for a while. He was then sold to the Crotoonian Hills Narrow Gauge Railway to serve as a generator for a while. But when the workload began to pile up, he was given a chance to be really useful again, and was reconfigured into an engine. While he still shows up from time to time, he’s learned not to overdo it and to take care as he goes about his work.
Listen, Dukie! Who worries about a few spills!?
(snickers/laughs)
Watch what I can do!
Judy and Jerome are breakdown cranes. Judy and Jerome are both heavy sleepers, but take their jobs very seriously, usually only awaking if there is an emergency (or if they think there is). The two also seem to be very talkative. They are always ready for an emergency and respond with zeal and vigour and enjoy working. Judy should sound like Teresa Gallagher.

Old Slow Coach was a luxurious coach when she was first brought to the Island of Sodor, but was eventually replaced by modern rolling stock. She was sent to the scrap yards, and was long due for the scrapheap when Thomas and Percy met her. The two tank engines vowed to find a way to save her, and their chance came sooner than expected when the workmen's hut was destroyed by a fire. Percy suggested that Old Slow Coach could house the workmen while a new hut was being made. Old Slow Coach was restored and taken to the beach to be used as the hut for the workmen until the new hut was built for them. For a while, she was used for special services on The Little Western. Then, she was transferred to Crotoonia’s Seaside Railway, where a small group of Falmouth Coupe TRI coaches are used for a special express service where all they needed was a brake coach, which Old Slow Coach is proud to be for those coaches.
(cheerful) Hello, Percy.
(sadly) They called me Old Slow Coach and told me I wasn’t useful anymore. Now, only the mice ride in me.
(very happy) I can’t thank you enough. I feel splendid.
Hank is a large American tender engine. Hank is large, bold, and blue. He is the biggest engine on Sodor alongside Connor and Caitlin. While he may come across as brash in his cheery confidence and enthusiasm, Hank is used to being easily seen or heard. In his jolliness, he may seem a little goofy and kooky, especially with so many bells and whistles and a cowcatcher, but Hank has a big heart and is more than happy to lend a helping hand. Using his might, strength, and power to assist others is something that only comes all too naturally to him and he takes it in his stride, without a second thought. Hank can become concerned about his friends though, as he gladly keeps an eye out for the other little engines. The only trouble with being Hank is that virtually every engine smaller than him. He comes to Crotoonia every now and then to help out with the freight runs on the main line.

Dennis is a lazy diesel shunter. Dennis is considered to be a very lazy diesel who tries to take advantage of others and depend on them to do his work instead. Dennis will often create excuses to get out of work, but usually gets caught in his lies and always says sorry - but whether or not he means it is the question. He as a twin called Norman.

Den is a big diesel-hydraulic engine who usually runs the Vicarstown Dieselworks with his assistant, Dart., repairing other diesels. He is stately and deeply pensive. He tries to make sure everything he says is deeply considered, can often be heard muttering "what I mean to say is...", and can tend to overthink. He may come across as a little slow, but nothing could be further from the truth. He is rather astute and likes to take into account as much as he can with regards to a problem. Although he is not a worrier, he may tend to be on the fence about taking particular action over a matter before making a calculated, informed decision that will be worth the wait. Sometimes though, Dart, his assistant at the Dieselworks, can tell what he is thinking and cut to the chase a little quicker for the benefit of the other engines, which is why they support each other so well as a team. Den is a hard worker and is popular and well respected among the diesels for fixing them with a whisk of his wheels, even if his tools may be old and shoddy and his machinery may be outdated. Although he is trustworthy and authoritative, Den may have the occasional chuckle at an engine's expense. He sometimes comes to Crotoonia to help out with the breakdown services for the Celgreb City Works as well as the Kahlville Works. His voice should sound like Keith Wickham.

Dart is a small diesel shunter who often assists Den in running the Vicarstown Dieselworks. Dart works at the Vicarstown Dieselworks supporting and assisting Den. Den and Dart have worked together for so long that Dart can often guess what Den is thinking before he can get it out himself. Although not so much the thinker of the duo, he is usually the doer and can be the chattier of the two. He quickly buzzes about the Dieselworks, occasionally bashing, crashing, and clanging into things. He can be heard to grumble "Dizzy Diesels!" when something goes wrong. Dart is very able in his work and a valuable team player. Despite being small in size, he is feisty and fast. Dart also likes jokes, sometimes to the annoyance of the other Diesels. If feeling bothered, particularly by the steam engines, Dart is far from devious, but can get grumpy, gruff, irritable, cantankerous, and sometimes cheeky too, but otherwise he is the quick-witted assistant of the Dieselworks. He sometimes comes to Crotoonia to help out with the breakdown services for the Celgreb City Works as well as the Kahlville Works. His voice should sound like either Rupert Degas or Steven Kynman.

Norman is an orange-red diesel shunter. Norman's shape represents his twin Dennis, but he is a diesel engine who is much kinder and more willing to work. He wants to be liked by all the engines, whether they be steam or diesel engines. So he does his part at the Sodor Dieselworks and follows all of his orders. However, poor Norman often breaks down and he does not like that. Unlike Dennis, who is lazy, if Norman were fixed properly he would show what a Really Useful Engine he can be. He is also willing to help another engine in trouble. His voice should sound like either Rupert Degas or Steven Kynman.

Hugo is a gentle rail Zeppelin, unique for being fitted with a propeller. He is a very fast engine, whose spinning propeller makes him very popular with passengers. He is a kind and gentle engine. He loves to be useful, but is also a bit sensitive. This was shown when his feelings were hurt by the other engines ostracising him, out of fear that his kind would replace them; but they soon saw that they were wrong and apologised to him. He sometimes comes to Crotoonia during the summer months, when the passenger work backs up. His voice should sound like Rob Rackstraw.

He was the original number one on the North Western Railway before Thomas' arrival and now works alongside Stephen and Millie at Ulfstead Castle. Glynn is a jolly old engine. He is kind, friendly and he loves working hard. However, he sometimes has questioned his own purpose nowadays, since engines are now far bigger and stronger. Despite this, he has accepted his place as an irreplaceable historic figure on the railway. Along with his new position, he has developed a strong admiration and respect for history and its remaining standing figures like Stephen and considers him a firm friend. He sometimes comes to Crotoonia for big festivals and events. His voice should sound like Keith Wickham.

Mine Carts, known as Mine Trolleys in the UK, are special types of wagons, they are used for transporting materials across the mines, mostly stone. Occasionally, some mine trolleys have been used at the quarries, and other work sites. They are very well behaved, and never give any of the engines any grief. While not all of them have faces, the ones located at the Bartlett Bay Salt Mine on The Seaside Railway do. Dusty is the ringleader of that particular lot on the Seaside Railway. Need to be able to do more than one impression.
Right! Whatever you day, Dusty!

Rickety is a teal troublesome truck who can rock up and down as he moves. He is described as a truck who takes great pleasure in causing trouble, much like any other Troublesome Truck. Take care with Mr. Oliver! If you play tricks on him, you’ll never be the same car/truck again.
These coaches are sentient. Like many coaches from Thomas And Friends, they do not appreciate being bumped by an engine, and if they are not handled properly, they can get back at their engine. Especially if their brake-pipe is damaged from rough treatment, they will refuse to go further, like the time James damaged a brake-pipe for bumping his coaches and speeding.

Lorenzo is an Italian vintage locomotive. He was once a fast and impulsive engine, but in a bid for notoriety and desperate to find treasure, he would rush into archaeological digs without taking the time to understand his surroundings - which led to him being trapped in a disused dig... until Thomas rescues him! He loves the sound of his own voice and being the center of attention, especially while singing operatic ditties with his small coach, Beppe. Whilst his speaking voice may be deep, Lorenzo has a classical tenor singing voice. His voice should sound like Vincenzo Nicoli.

Bultron is a red double-decker bus that is one of Bulgy's closest friends. He was mentioned by Oliver as being rude, just like Bulgy, as he was trying to take Bulgy's passengers home so that Bulgy can steal Duck and Oliver's passengers in the Thomas And Friends episode Bulgy. And, like Bulgy, he hates railways.
One day, railways will be ripped up and we buses will rule the roads!
Nevermind, my friend. They’ll get their just deserts one of these days. In fact……I have an idea to show everyone how useless those steam kettles really are.
I’ll take your passengers home, and you can take those engines’ passengers to the big station at Tidmouth. But first, you should disguise yourself as a “Railway Bus”, so you can trick the passengers into riding you there.
