This is NOT an Anime - Sims 2 VO Series
Project Overview
Hello hello everyone and thank you for viewing my casting call <3
This project is based on an idea I had a long time ago while going on a huge anime binge. The idea was that anime characters with crazy, insane hair like Yugi Mutou and Yuno Gasai, didn't asked to be graced with their unusual locks of hair, but instead the crazy hair chose them. A little weird, I know, but it's been a fun concept to work with so far!
Anywho, the plot goes as follows:
Arbor likes to live her life simply. She’s not one to bring unnecessary attention to herself and would like to keep it that way. This, unfortunately, becomes a problem when her hair turns pink out of nowhere and she starts to resemble the main character of an anime. And soon...her life start to turn into one as well as she tries to keep her pink hair hidden from her classmates.
Will Arbor be able to keep her new hair a secret, or will she be able to accept herself for the way she is, pink hair and all?
Rules:
- Clear Mic: I’m pretty lenient on this one. As long as you don’t sound like you’re skydiving in the middle of the audition, I’ll consider it
- Dedication: I’ve had to cancel a series in the past because too many VAs disappeared at the same time. And while I am also responsible for that by not getting a script out in a decent amount of time, I only got a response from one out of six cast members. So please, don’t audition if you can’t see yourself dedicating time to this project for the next year, maybe more.
- Show Emotion: Simply don’t be monotone unless asked to. This series is heavily based off of anime and mangas alike so I’m expecting the same level of energy in the voice acting.
Easy Contact: I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the best at keeping my casts up to date on how the process of a project is going. To fix that, I’m wanting to make a discord server dedicated to the project so I can update the cast all at once, but I won’t officially require you to have one.
Just make sure to respond to my messages and you’ll be fine.
- Patience: This ties in with being dedicated to the series, but it takes awhile to make anything sims related and as of right now I am working on another project as well. So if given a role, please don’t be impatient if I don’t get episodes out right away.
Important:
One of the characters below, Robin, is transgender. And while I believe in giving everyone equal chances to audition, I will say that I will be giving more consideration to those who audition for this character, and are also transgender themselves. (You don’t have to be specifically f2m to get this consideration.)
That is to say, if you are not transgender, you may still audition for this role. I will be picking the voice actor based on mic quality, how they represent the character, if their voice fits the character, and then if the actor is transgender or not.
That being said: You do not need to tell me you are transgender if you feel uncomfortable doing so. I don’t want anyone to feel pressured or obligated to tell me.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me!
Good luck everyone and I look forward to listening to everyone's auditions <3

Hi everyone! I just wanted to pop in and say that I've heard everyone's auditions and am working towards a cast list. I've been feeling sick the past few days so I've been trying to rest as much as possible. I'll hopefully have the cast list finished by Friday if not sooner. It's been tough narrowing it down! You all did a great job. <3
Female - 17 - Medium/Low Voice
If Arbor were self-aware of her leading role, she would definitely demand to be just a background character instead. She doesn’t like to be the center of attention and becomes quite stressed and nervous when thrown in the middle of it. Which becomes a problem when her hair turns pink. And on top of that, she’s somehow gotten involved with Kyo and Robin. Two people who seem to always have eyes on them.
“[panicking] No no no, this can’t be happening to me! I can’t go to school like this, everyone will stare at me! I can feel their eyes on me now.”
“[nervous] Something happened yesterday...but if I tell you, you need to promise not to tell anyone else. Okay?”
“[angry and then upset] You wouldn’t understand! You get to act however you want and people still avoid you out of fear! I make one wrong move and everyone is staring at me like I’m insane…”
Transgender Male - 17 - Neutral/Medium Voice
(very animated way of speaking, like Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club but with a voice more similar to Haruhi)
(all genders welcomed to try for this role)
A year prior to the main events of the series, Robin comes out as being transgender. We will see his journey to gender euphoria at some point in the series but for now I’ll keep it simple. Since coming out as trans, he has been able to be more open with not only himself, but others as well. He’s no longer the kid sitting in the back of class trying to go unnoticed and instead has become quite the class clown. He loves cracking jokes and making others laugh, especially those who seem to be having bad days. He’s also a huge nerd who loves anime.
*Now I want to say that I’m not purposefully skipping over his transition for the sake of not wanting to write it. He may be a main character, but it’s not his story. It’s Arbor’s. His transition is still a very important part of the story though and as I said we will see more on it later in the series*
“[rushed/panicked] I’m so sorry. You--you see I have a free fourth period so I usually take a nap in the library but I didn’t set an alarm an-and fifth period is almost over already and---”
“[goofy/have fun with it] I wonder what kind of anime lead you are? Maybe the time traveling priestess destined to help save the Feudal Era? Or maybe you found a mysterious book that kills people where you write their name in it? Oh no! I got it! You’re the magical guardian of love and justice SAILOR MOON!”
“[serious/reassuring] You know...there’s nothing wrong with being yourself. Who cares if people stare at you? It’s none of their business.”
Male - 18 - Any Voice
Kyo is a new transfer student who was kicked out of his old one for unknown reasons. He’s prone to fits of anger and is quick to get into fights when someone starts to antagonize him but, much like Arbor, he hates to be the center of attention. Underneath the anger, he’s rather quiet.
“[angry] Shut up! I don’t need rescuing! Why can’t you people just mind your own damn business?”
“[sincere]I just wanted to apologize...for yelling at you the other day. I shouldn’t have done that. So, I’m sorry.”
“[frustrated] At least people don’t notice you. When I walk into a room, all eyes are on me. As if people are already expecting me to mess up somehow.”
Female - 17 - Medium/High Voice
Mina is Arbor’s cousin and the only one Arbor trusts with her little secret. She’s more quiet than the rest of the cast but also the most level headed. Like Arbor, Mina doesn’t appreciate all eyes on her, but she doesn’t let the idea cripple her like Arbor does.
“[sincere] I think the color actually suits you. It looks nice.”
“[fed up/frustrated] You won’t be able to hide your hair forever Arbor. People are going to find out eventually. Whether you like it or not.”
Female - 18 - Medium/Low Voice
Michelle is one of Arbor’s close friends, though her personality is quite different. People often associate her red hair with a fiery personality but she’s really just being protective of her friends, similar to Arisa Uotani from Fruits Basket.
“[relieved] Thank god you’re here! Where have you been? Nevermind that, I need your help finishing my essay before Ms. Beerns gets here.”
“[angry/raged] He said what? I swear to god the next time I see that little rat I’m going to shove my foot so far up his--”
Female - age is just a number - Lower Voice
Mrs. Duncan is Arbor’s mother. She’s very supportive of her daughter and even helps her hide her newfound pink hair after it first appears. And while she may not like the fact that Arbor is hiding her hair, she realizes that Arbor needs to come to terms with her hair on her own.
“[laughing] What? I’m just trying to make light of a prickly situation hun.”
“Well it’s not a permanent solution that’s for sure. But it’ll work for now so you can go to school.”
