The Woes of Christmas (Working Title)
Project Overview
DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a few additional cast members to join our team for our podcast audio drama. Our team is expanding from our first successful project, The Woes of Whitby, which is a four-part audio drama inspired by the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. We have approximately 1,400 downloads over several platforms, and continue growing, so this is a wonderful way for creators to get their work out there! At this time, this is still a passion project and will be unpaid, but if we do make a profit you will be compensated.
SYNOPSIS
The Woes of Christmas (working title) is an expansion/sequel to our original project The Woes of Whitby. This story takes inspiration from Dracula the Un-Dead, the sequel to Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. 8 years after the harrowing events of The Woes of Whitby, our survivors are visited by ghosts from their pasts. As they are forced to confront them and their own inner demons they must find a way to escape the unnatural realm they've been mysteriously thrust into.
REQUIREMENTS
XLR or USB microphones are highly preferred. Audio must be high quality, with minimal to no background noise.
Please have Discord and attach your name to your audition. If necessary, I can also communicate with you through CCC if cast.
Please save your auditions as .wav files.
You may audition for as many characters as you desire, with as many takes as you are comfortable with.
This is equivalent to a 1 act play, with 75+ pages. Please be dedicated and aware of the commitment before you audition.
Most importantly, have fun with it!
DEADLINE
The hope is to have this ready and recorded by mid December. Please keep this in mind before auditioning!

You didn’t lie. You just didn’t know how to tell me the truth. Sometimes there is a difference.
(panicking) Where even is here? How did we get here?
I think it's high time we put that handsome head of yours down to sleep.
The spirit of a fortune teller with a mysterious past. They embody the the collective consciousness of Count Dracula's numerous victims. They act in the shadows, manipulating our heroes for reasons unknown. They speak as if they are not one, but many (we, they, us).
Character traits: Mysterious, Ethereal, Dominant, Intense

A simple fortune teller, nothing more. Another passing soul, trapped here by Dracula.
Do not blame him for what has transpired. We forced him to act against his will. He did not want to bring any of you into this place. He tried to bargain with us, to come alone to face the monster. But we knew he alone was not powerful enough.
He needed time. He needed more power. “Upon the tenth year of his death, he shall riseth again”. In my life, I foretold this. And so we devised to stop him.
Mrs. Westenra is the loving mother of the dearly departed Lucy Westenra, and thinks of her each and every day. She can be a bit over dramatic and naive, but she has an absolute heart of gold.
MUST have a British accent!
This is a recast, so our actress must be able to match the original actress closely. Please listen here for reference (https://youtu.be/VVzSn1YvohI?t=1230).
I had never been down that street before, you see. Always too far out of my way, and I never liked the look of it. It looks ominous, if you ask me.
I found the most delightful hat shop that I have ever seen in my long years. Such vivid colors! I especially fancied this wide-brimmed one in the shop window, with the most lovely pink ribbon. I had half a mind… oh! The Morrises are here!
It’s good to see you, Quincy! It’s been much too long. Oh, and Mary! Still as beautiful as on your wedding day.
