The Ultimates series continues with another introduction; Clark Kent as Superman! The Kents were comic nerds, being massive fans of the DC comics. So when they birth a baby boy on their small farm in Picketsvile Kansas, they named him Clark Kent after the Man of Steel. Clark grew up in the shadow of Superman, feeling inadequate against the Man of Tomorrow, he escapes to the mountains only to b e gifted the powers of Superman. Now, Clark must decide whether he will become the Real Superman and how to go about doing that.
The Ultimates is a series that takes Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and original video essays to make a connected world as Superheroes break out of the comics, ushering in an era of 'Real' superheroes!

They didn't look past the name either, no one ever did. You know sometimes I just want to scream at them, tell them the comic sucks that the character is boring but no, I bite my tongue and come out here to my dad's old tractor and typewriter. Mild Mannered Clark Kent, hiding away from everybody. When I first started coming out here, Pa called this my fortress of Solitude. I didn't come out here for a month and a half. Yeah poor me, with my family's big farm and loving parents. Whine, whine, whine. It's not like I'm gonna go postal but dang do I really hate most people in my school. Heck my whole town isn't really all that good, but I can't really do anything about it. I'm no superman. When I get fed up with it all, I pack up my stuff and take for the Smoky Hills to hike for the weekend. It's close enough to bike to, and far enough to feel disconnected from everything. So it's just me, I don't even bring the typewriter, or a notebook. It' just me, actual Me. And it's great. Just me. Alone...
Mike and Cassie ended up together, which I honestly didn't care much about anymore. People started talking to me allot more, and I opened up and began talking back. I decided not to go public yet, but I would become, the Secret superman of the world. There weren't any super villains, and probably never would be. I could just lay low and save people occasionally. There was only so much I could do, but I had time to figure out what I could do, to push my limits. I would be there if someone needed me, but this way I could get away and think about things. I had my whole life to figure things out. The government hadn't bothered me so I was in the clear, I could do whatever I wanted. I was completely free to be whatever I decided to be. I decided to become a writer, I decided I'd major in journalism in college and then I'd move to New York. I was going to become Superman, I was going to Embrace my name. My Name is Clark Kent, and I am Superman!

Well beyond our name being Kent? You had black hair. But... I don't know, Superman is Good. That's what we wanted you to be, a good man. Superman is the type of hero to put beating up the bad guy on hold to make sure someone was safe. Or be trying to save the world and stop to get a cat out of a tree. He's not just a good hero, he's what good heroes aspire to be. And I don't know, we wanted you to have a good example to live up to. Honestly Clark, I didn't mean anything major by it. Superman's just a comic book character, you can be whatever you want to be. We just want you to be a good person, whoever that good person is, is up to you.
What does Superman mean to me? Look kid, I'ma straight shooter. You've come to a point in your life where you suddenly feel a need to define yourself. I'm here if you wanna be direct about things, but I'm glad you're trying to figure things out on your own. You're a good kid, Clark and that's why we named you after Superman. He's not just good, but other heroes look up to him as that example of how to be good superheroes. We don't expect you to become a superhero, you'll never fly or shoot lasers but you should always try to be that example of goodness. If you can be that paragon it inspires others to be better, you might just actually save the world. Part of that though is reaching out, and being open and honest with people. Good or Bad, you gotta be honest with people or they won't understand.

I'm having troubl getting anywhere without being able to talk to your family, go through your medical history. My paper would like to make you an offer; we'll handle your debut we'll present you to the world, handle any legal issues with DC, we'll take care of everything. Including security for your family from the press. Just from the book deals and talk shows alone, you'd make enough to buy your parents a mansion. Don't you want to live the good life, Superboy? Not just that, we'd be able to help you understand your powers, figure out what's going on.
It's as if Superboy walked out of the comics and in to real life, I think he was even a boy scout! He loves helping people, he's the type of kid any parent would be proud to have. He's a real good kid.

As a writer and Image director you'd be working with closely with director helping write the scripts and gathering the panels from the comics. You'd be transcribing the comics and cutting out the panels in ways that convey the visual story while enhancing it. You'd be assisting for multiple comics, not just superman.
