The U.M.A.R. Program
Project Overview
The U.M.A.R. Program is an Audio Drama about a trio of Multiversal criminals being put on a team tasked to fix anomalies across the multiverse. It's a very comedic series all about playing off tropes and making references to existing media. If you like stories about assholes, queer representation, anti-establishment themes, well placed references, and are looking for a fresh take on a multiverse storyline, you'll like The U.M.A.R. Program.
Casting is currently open for the Pilot episode, and if that does alright, and I'm up for it, I'll make the sequel episode, which more effectively follows the blueprint of the series: the trio enters a world based off a genre of story, they find out what the anomaly is, they fix it, they say goodbyes, the episode ends.
The series is generally 16+ and all characters, for this episode at least, are over the age of 18.
I am mostly looking for voice actors who know how to sound "genuine" if that makes sense. If you can really get into the shoes of your character, and not sound like you're in a play the whole time, you've definitely got my attention.
This is my first time working on a project with voice acting, but I know a bit about what to do. Basically: Don't be too worried about me being disorganized, but also please forgive me if I mess up! This project is also a passion project I'm setting up for fun, so don't beat yourself up if you screw up here or there.
Recording sessions will happen over discord call so characters can more effectively sound like they're having a conversation, playing off what the other person said subtly(pretty sure this standard practice but i'm clarifying anyways). You will be recording your own audio(not the call's audio) with your media recorder of choice, but record the full call so you don't miss anything.

A REOCCURRING MAIN CHARACTER
A loud skeleton who never takes anything seriously, and has the power to get away with it. Skeleton Man is a Multiversal drifter who goes from universe to universe trying to find stuff to do, only to get captured by a Multiversal police force. An asshole of assholes.
The ideal voice for this character would be the skeleton in that "What is a skeleton's favorite snack" video, but generally he just sounds like if a cartoon skeleton was an apathetic asshole.

Hey Listen! I know it's gonna be hard for you to be apart from me baby but stay strong for me baby! I LOVE YOU!(Sarcastic, yelling, flirtatious)
They all talk like theyâre the oneâs put in place to take care of the whole multiverse but it's all bullshit.(casual, apathetic)
âWhat about you skeleton man? Tell us about your wack ass self!â(mocking, sarcastic) WELL, IâM SO GLAD YOU ASKED! (loud, angry, also sarcastic, prideful)
A REOCCURRING MAIN CHARACTER
Clyde's official art is a work in progress, but here is the current sketch for him.
A guy who used to work at a Donut Shop called "Morning Donuts"... It was a donut shop that traveled across the multiverse, but still. Just kind of a normal young man who happened to get swept up by Multiversal Police after they failed to detain his place of work. Tired of everyone's bullshit. If this ever becomes a full series i'd want him(?) to realize he's either non-binary or a trans girl as the series goes on, so please only audition if you're Transgender.

Wow. âSystems Organizer.â I couldnât come up with a more generic and vague name if I tried. (unamused, dry)
A REOCCURRING MAIN CHARACTER
A being from a dimension where physics work differently. They cannot be interacted with physically in any way, but would grant monkeys paw wishes to anyone they could to gain a physical form and reshape universes to fit their needs. A very proper individual who holds themself in high regard, despite this, they do not try to make themself sound better than the people around them inherently, but their tone of voice is always naturally condescending. They're kind of Scar from the Lion King adjacent, actually.
This character uses any pronouns by virtue of them coming from a dimension without gender or sexes. The voice actor should be trans in some way to reflect this.

We deal in preventing anomalous happenings, not preventing tragedy.(clarification)
Skeleton Man you are being detained for unauthorized universe travel, timeline manipulation, and multiple other more minimal accounts. Are you aware of these charges?(covering up angery emotions)
Unit 66 is low in intelligence, and acts on impulse. Chances of him causing trouble we are not equipped to handle are low.(restating information)
Angry hedgehog based off of Scourge from Sonic who gets knocked out immediately. gravely and angry voice.
