The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Project Overview
Sally Hardesty and her invalid, brother, Franklin, are concerned that their grandfather's grave may have been vandalized, so they travel to the site with three of their friends, Sally's boyfriend Jerry, her best friend Pam, and Pam's boyfriend Kirk. When they discover that the grave is intact, they decide to visit the old family homestead which is now abandoned.
Along the way, they pass a slaughterhouse and Franklin describes how cattle used to be killed with a sledgehammer, and now they use an air gun. Shortly afterwards, they pick up a, strange-looking hitchhiker who exhibits bizarre behavior. After inviting the group back to his house for dinner, an invitation they all decline, the hitchhiker takes a photo of Franklin with an instant Polaroid camera, and demands a two-dollar payment for it. When Franklin refuses, the man angrily crumples the photo, sets it on fire, and cuts his own hand with Franklin's pocket knife. The guys manage to throw him out of the van, but not before he cuts Franklin with the knife, too. Before they can drive away, he smears blood on their van.
Running low on fuel, they stop at a rural gas station, only to have the strange-looking old man who runs it tell them that the tanks are empty and that he's waiting for the gas tanker to show up. When the old man learns that their destination is the old Hardesty home, he advises the young people against going there by saying that the people who live around that area are not receptive to strangers.
Later, Sally and the others start to wonder why Pam and Kirk have not returned. As the sun begins to set, Jerry sets out in the general direction and comes upon the house after he is lured to the area by the sound of the house's gas generator. He is alerted by the blanket that Kirk left hanging on the front porch, and he goes into the house. After Jerry walks into the kitchen, he discovers Pam locked inside a large freezer, still alive but convulsing and near death. She lunges out of the freezer just as Leatherface appears and kills Jerry with the sledgehammer. He forces Pam's body back into the freezer and locks it again.
At night, Sally and Franklin start towards the other house. The masked man ambushes them, killing Franklin with the chainsaw. The man chases Sally into the house, where she finds a very old, seemingly dead man and a woman's rotting corpse. The man chases Sally back to the gas station and vanishes.
The station's proprietor comforts Sally for a moment, after which he beats and subdues her, loading her into his pickup truck. The proprietor drives to the other house, and the hitchhiker appears. The proprietor scolds him for his actions at the cemetery, identifying the hitchhiker as the grave robber. As they enter the house, the masked man reappears, dressed in women's clothing The proprietor identifies the masked man and the hitchhiker as brothers, and the hitchhiker refers to the masked man as "Leatherface". The two brothers bring the old man—"Grandpa"—down the stairs and cut Sally's finger so that Grandpa can suck her blood. Sally faints.
The next morning, Sally regains consciousness. The men taunt her and bicker with each other, resolving to kill her with a hammer. They try to include Grandpa in the activity, but Grandpa's grip is weak, and he drops the hammer repeatedly. Sally breaks free and runs onto a road in front of the house, pursued by the brothers. An oncoming truck accidentally runs over the hitchhiker, killing him. The truck driver attacks Leatherface with a large wrench, injuring him, and escapes on foot. Sally, covered in blood, flags down a passing pickup truck and climbs into the bed, narrowly escaping Leatherface.

*You are tied to a chair made of human bones, and you are being ferociously tortured and mocked. Your trying to appeal to drayton sawyer, in an attempt to get him to stop the others from torturing and mocking you. You're begging for your life, as you know death is not far off* You're crazy! You've got to make them stop! Please!
*Aggitated scream* Stop it! ... Stop it! ... Stop it! ... Franklin!
*You are being chased by a Chainsaw Wielding Killer, who is right on your heels and you can feel the wind from the chainsaw on the nap of your neck. You are screaming for your life* Help me! Oh, God!
Franklin Hardesty Enright is Sally Hardesty's invalidated brother that suffers from paraplegia. He's constantly reminded that he can't do half the stuff his friends and sister can do due to his handicap which irritates him greatly.
Franklin has a very one-sided conversation with Nubbins Sawyer "The hitchhiker", primarily concerning his passion with slaughtering and cutting up cattle, showing him and the other passengers graphic photographs of the process. While Franklin is momentarily distracted and playing with his pocket knife, Nubbins grabs it and cuts himself over the palm of his hand. Nubbins takes a photo of Franklin with his camera and demands money for it. When Franklin refuses, In a split second he cuts Franklin's arm, with his hidden straight razor.

*It is 108 degrees fahrenheit and you are hot and extremely miserable* This heat is just driving me crazy. I don't know if I can take... - much more of this.
*Riding in the van you come up on a slaughterhouse, on the side of the road. It brings back fond memories* Hey, that's the old slaughterhouse. That's where Grandpa used to sell his cattle. We got an uncle that works at one of those places outside of Fort. Worth. That's where they kill them. They bash them in the head with a sledgehammer.
*You see what appears to be dried blood on your knife, and you assume it is from the hitchhiker who used your knife to mutilate his own hand for amusement. You think unfondly of how crazy the hitchhiker must have been to cut himself for pleasure, and of course it had to be with your knife. You're still slightly shocked and sort of freaked out by what you witnessed.* Oh, that's blood, all right. And that guy cut the hell out of himself. You think you could do that to yourself?
Nubbins Sawyer, also known as The Hitchhiker, is a mentally unstable and murderous cannibal and grave robber. He lives with his equally depraved family, the Sawyers, in the back roads of Texas, capturing, torturing and feasting on unwary travelers.

*Discussing your work and family heritage of the slaughter house with the kids in the van. You psychotically and menacingly describe you and your relatives past works in the meat industry.* My brother worked there. My-my grandfather, too. My family's always been in meat.
*You begin to describe what is done with the leftover parts of an animal in the slaughterhouse. You give a passionate psychotic description of what is made, and the parts used to make it.* See, they make head cheese. They...they take thehead, and they boil it, except for the tongue, and they scrape all the fleshaway from the bone. They use everything. They don't throw nothing way. They usethe jowls and the muscles and the eyes and ligaments and everything.
Drayton Sawyer, or just simply The Cook.
Virtually nothing is known about Drayton's early life. It's assumed that like the rest of the Sawyer clan, he used to work in the now-closed slaughterhouse in Newt, Muerto County, before opening the gas station. It is of immediate note, that despite being said to be a brother to Leatherface and The Hitchhiker, he is much older than them. ALthough he does not act as one of the brothers, his behavior is reminissent of a father.
Drayton Sawyer first appears as the proprietor of a gas station and barbecue (with an unnamed car door window washer as an employee), where a group of teenagers stop while passing through the area. Drayton's malevolent nature is revealed later, when he beats Sally Hardesty unconscious and captures her after she approaches him seeking help when her friends disappear and her brother Franklin gets killed by Leatherface. Having been chased by Leatherface previously, she is highly hysterical after her shocking experience. Taking Sally to his home, Drayton torments her alongside his siblings, Leatherface and Nubbins the Hitchhiker, before deciding to let the family patriarch have a whack at killing her. When Grandpa proves too decrepit to kill Sally with a hammer, Drayton, the Hitchhiker and Leatherface attempt to aid him.

*Your friendly with your interaction with the kids, but you are also trying to deter the them from snooping around. You play it somewhat smoothly, almost like a concerned father figure, but not quite so stern.* Yeah, maybe I seen something like that up that way. Well, now look, you boys don't want to go messing around no old house. Those things is dangerous. You're liable to get hurt.
*Sally has just burst through the door, in a desperate attempt to get help. She is completely hysterical, after just running for her life from a chainsaw wielding maniac. You quickly realize it is your brother Leatherface that was chasing her, but you don't want to slip up and let her know. You act very concerned and try to calm her down. You seem almost sincere in your effort to help. However you are calmness turns into a , slight excitement over her heisteria.* There's no phone here. We... we have to drive over to Childress. Yeah, yeah. Now, you take it easy. Take it easy now. I'll get the truck. Now, now, take it easy. Take it easy.
*You have been torturing Sally all night and morning long. You are finally trying to put a little humanity to the scene by offering a slight bit of sympathy for Sally. You are finally putting her out of her misery. However you are going to let your 120yr old Grandpa kill her, but not before you try and slightly comfort Sallies screams with a sincere story of Grandpas past kills* Now, you just hush. It won't hurt none. Why, old Grandpa is the best killer there ever was. Why, it never took more than one lick, they say. Why, he did 60 in five minutes once. They say he could've done more if the hook and pull gang could've gotten the beeves out of the way faster. Now, now, don't you cry none. Old Grandpa's the best. It won't hurt a bit.
Leatherface (A.K.A - Bubba/Junior Sawyer) is the main antagonist in the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He is an unstable and cannibalistic psychopath and serial killer who wears masks made of human skin (hence his name) and engages in murder and cannibalism alongside his inbred family.
While much of his early life is not known, Leatherface presumably used to work as a butcher at the meat factory alongside his brothers and family. Leatherface is "completely under the control of his family. He'll do whatever they tell him to do. He's a little bit afraid of them. Leatherface is a "big baby" who kills in self-defense because he feels threatened. Leatherface does not speak and is slightly mentally handicapped. Instead he Squeals similar to a pig, and often groans and moans in place of speaking.

*You hear somebody at the door, but you are not allowed to answer the door. Instead you begin making squealing noises like a pig, to lure them in. Do your best pig squealing imitation.*
*You are in the middle of swinging a 12Ib sledge over your head and down on the head of your victim. Give your best impression of over exerting yourself, while swinging this hammer.*
*You are at the dinner table alongside your brothers, and Sally whom you have tied to a chair. She is screaming and begging for her life, and this excites you. Use that excitement and give us some howling sounds*

The Drunk is a minor protagonist in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He is a local town member who came to the graveyard after reports of grave robbing began. The drunk was one of several people who came to a graveyard after reports began filing in about incidents of vandalism and grave robbing. He is seen in the early morning hours sitting in a discarded vehicle tire with a bottle of whiskey in his hand. Babbling incoherently, he bragged about seeing things and possessing some sort of knowledge about things that nobody else talks about.
*Remember that you are playing a man who is drunk, and babbling nearly incoherent, however your speech is semi clear, understandable and it doesn't sound quite like someone completely plastered.* "Things happen hereabout they don't tell about. I see things. You see, they say it's just an old man talking. You laugh at an old man. There's them that laughs and knows better."
This man and those around him are at the cemetery checking on the remains of loved ones. He directs Sally to the sheriff in order for here to check on the remains of her grandpa.
