The Strange Compendium: Where my Wendigo Gangsters at? (Introduction Casting Call Part Two!)

The Strange Compendium: Where my Wendigo Gangsters at? (Introduction Casting Call Part Two!)

Project Overview

Yes, you read it correctly: Wendigo gangsters. In lieu of having expanded and explored my world of The Strange Compendium a little more, I decided to modify my introduction to include a case where our heroes meet and encounter a Wendigo mob that smuggles human-infused, "medicinal" liquor into the States to sell at their radically popular speakeasy.

This is the casting call for the additional characters within this revised introduction. While I cannot reimburse your hard work monetarily, I will credit your contributions to the project, and provide a means for others to check out your works if you have links for that.

**In addition, if you're a person of many talents (and I know many of you are!) and would like to help make The Strange Compendium even better, I would really like to enlist a beta reader or two to preview and critique the story before it is released on public mediums. If you're interested in this position, please send me a private message through here so that we can arrange something! I would prefer someone who is well-read, enjoys the horror/paranormal/fantasy genre and can get back to me promptly, so if you meet these criteria...what are you waiting for? Send me a message, nugget!**

If you'd like to read about The Strange Compendium universe (but I'm being a jerk and not releasing anything yet), Creepy Curiosities is the prequel to the original work and is comprised of short episodes of our heroes, Richter & Rorschach: https://www.wattpad.com/story/76182453-creepy-curiosities

If you're sad that there aren't any characters that truly speak to you in this casting call but you'd like to be a part of this project nonetheless, I'll be periodically  posting up casting calls for The Strange Compendium like this one: https://www.castingcall.club/projects/the-strange-compendium-of-richter-rorschach-children-in-the-trees

If you've got any questions, feel free to comment here or send me a private message!

As always, it's an honor and pleasure to have your interest in my humble project, and I wish you all the best!

Role assigned to: joshua bellas

A feisty young man who's joined the Endigo gang and wishes he had more time to spend with the ladies.

  • “Work, work, work! As nice as we’re getting paid, what’s the use of all this money if we never get time to enjoy our fortune? With the crazy hours, I can’t even find me a nice girl to play around with!”

  • “Oh, right. You’ve been around longest of all of us, Horen. Since the brothers started, yeah? Haven’t you gotten a vacation in at least once or twice by now?”

  • “Not to get ahead of myself here, but she’s not exactly lively company...”

Role assigned to: domjam

Faithful to the Endigo Brothers since they started up their operation, Horen is the oldest fellow in the gang, preferring to be a quiet observer. It's unknown where he came from exactly, or if he's human (or not), but he is the Endigo Brothers' trusted right-hand man.

  • “Heh, you want a break, kid?”

  • “No time for rest when there’s purpose to live. Those brothers have spent years getting to where they are, tirelessly toiling away to accomplish what they have. You’ll do good to work hard while you’re young and able, Mitzy boy.”

  • “You did say you wanted girls, right?”

Role assigned to: voiceoverbob

The other commanding half of the Endigo Brothers, Altan oversees the Endigo brewery located in Canada and manages the transport of the "medicinal" liquor that they serve at their speakeasy. It is rumored that his voice alone could probably scare the nuts off of a mountain lion, but one thing is certain: Altan Endigo is a ruthless, authoritative man, and he creates no illusions about what their gang is doing. He is also a Wendigo.

  • “I want her lungs and spleen fermenting with the juniper berry, clove and ginger root wine. Their thighs should go to the meat curer for the bar’s September batch of salumi.”

  • “Is there a problem, Mitz?”

  • "We’ll be late to the docks tonight; send word to Yoni once you’re done with your task, Horen. Let him know that we’ll need enough manpower to help with the transport of our ‘medicinal liquors.’”

A gang leader with a taste for the exquisite, Yoni Endigo is the elegant entrepeneur half of the two Endigo brothers, tending to every detail of their speakeasy operation under the ruse of a pleasant restauranteur. While he seems harmless, his true form is that of an insatiable, cannibalistic monster, the Wendigo.

  • “Hello there stranger. Table for one?”

  • “I am a big fan of Houdini, but I’m not sure we’ll have enough room to entertain if you’re planning on escaping out of a large fish tank.”

  • “You know, I wouldn’t mind hosting a duel between magicians...I’d have to run it through Altan, but I’m sure he’d be fine with it. What do you say, gentlemen? Care to join us here tonight?”

A different narrating voice for a refreshing change. If you're a lady adept at elocution, please consider this part! Any accents are welcome.

  • The property was veiled by enough natural scenery to remain undetected by authorities, and members of the Endigo gang monitored the premises diligently in their scheduled rounds to ensure that their operations stay undisturbed. But asides from illegal liquor smuggling, the opalescent waters of the lake and frizzy fir trees provided a pleasant, serene sight.

  • With no one to complain to about girls and the lack of them, Mitz tagged close behind. They were mindful of the sprouting, blackberry bramble-ridden ground as they walked, lifting their knees to avoid stepping on the burgeoning bushes.

  • Finally reaching the door, Horen knocked a coded rhythm on the metal surface before letting themselves in, received by a blood-drenched man across the room, whose countenance focused on the present company he had in his hands while two other men stood watch with hands behind their backs.
