The Other Side
The Other Side is a mystery/thriller series about loss, guilt, and the search for the good in humanity. The title refers to a world in the year 2666, a devastated future after an unusual apocalypse. To reach it, one must die—just before death, one closes their eyes and awakens in a small, mysterious sleeping chamber.
There, the four protagonists, Sam, Billy, Sofie, and Xang-Hou, meet and get to know each other during their first task. In this chamber, the participants' memories are put to the test: those who withstand the pressure are allowed to live. After more than 200 participants, an energy ball suddenly appears, pulling everyone into an unknown dimension.
In this other world, everything initially seems perfect, but a mysterious game reveals that they were trapped. The group returns to the original chambers, searches them, and eventually encounters Dr. Morris, the creator of these chambers. He is guarding something of great importance, which has escaped. Now it's up to Sam, Billy, Sofie, and Xang-Hou to uncover the truth and save the world.
The Other Side combines psychological suspense, emotional depth, and a dystopian world full of secrets.

Sam (male, 34) is the main character of the series. He is homeless after his house burned down, and he also lost his family. Driven by grief and anger, he often reacts explosively and withdraws. Over the course of the series, he slowly opens up to others again, learns to understand their emotions, and shows increasing warmth and empathy.

Joe (50) – an experienced police officer. He has a brief conversation with the main character.

Michael (27) – a young, inexperienced police officer. He's direct and always says what he thinks. He works together with Joe.

Sam (child version) – the main character as a child. He has a brief conversation with his friend Billy after they have played tag.

Mr. Hudson is a ruthless mafia boss who has Jakob kidnapped to secure his power. He appears only briefly, but is unexpectedly shot dead – a moment that changes everything.

At this time, Jakob is living on the streets of New York, struggling to survive on his own. Silent, exhausted, and torn apart inside, he tries to get through each day.

How long have you been here?
Howard is Jakob's biological father. He comes into conflict with the Mafia and Mr. Hudson early on, making his life dangerous. Shortly after Jakob's birth, his son is taken from him, a loss that forever scars him and leaves him in constant fear and distress.

Gloria is Jakob's biological mother. Shortly after his birth, her son is kidnapped by Mr. Hudson. Although she only appears briefly in episode 3, her emotional performance leaves a powerful impression – full of pain, despair, and love for her child.

Jakob (young) is the younger version of Jakob and is the focus of episode 3. Shortly after his birth, he is kidnapped by Mr. Hudson. His life is marked by deception and disappointment at the hands of the mafia boss, until an attack on the house changes everything and Mr. Hudson is killed. In the end, Jakob is left alone and must find his own way.
