The Mystics
Project Overview
Hello, and welcome to a passion project called "The Mystics". This is a series about a seemingly modern world where a team of magically gifted people fight to save the world through the hardships of learning magic and the techniques behind it. This could end up being a long running series, but for now it will be focused on the pilot episode.
In the first season, expect to see the main characters figure out the magical world around them. They will learn of the coming evil that threatens their home, and have to explore and train to be ready for the fights. Along the way, they will meet powerful magic users who may help them or try to stop them. This series is best defined as an action comedy, with some adventure spice. It also has little hints of sci fi added in.
This is an animated series with little to no budget to begin with. It will be a rough start for sure, but I hope everyone can bear with it so we can make this a great series!
Overview:
The current casting call is focused on the Pilot Episode, which will reach out to the audience and show them what the series is all about. All main characters will appear in this episode, with a few smaller characters to play (These may not require longer term commitment if the series goes on). The characters will speak English, but feel free to use any accent/tone you feel fits the character, or even your portrayal.
Expectations:
- This is meant to be a long series (Multiple seasons long), so any big character role must have the commitment to do so. The length of this series will be determined by the reaction and publicity it gets. If it becomes long running, of course all roles will be given a substantial amount of the earnings.
- You may volunteer to be any extras that are mentioned, but none will be forced onto anyone. Extras will be cast as an open role to whoever would like to play it and can pull it off, but if no one will take a role it will be filled in another way.
- This series is set to be published to YouTube. This seems to be off-putting to several of those who might be interested, so it was worth mentioning. Given certain circumstances, it may be moved to a new platform. It is highly encouraged to share the finished work with friends and family so we can make this production have an audience.
- The production team will have a way to communicate to each other. This will likely be Discord, but if enough team members require another way to communicate, it can be arranged. It is not a necessity to be in the Discord server or the equivalent, but any member must have a way to communicate with the leading members.
- We would love to have a team who are passionate about this series. Since money is something this series will likely not be making, we would still love to have a team who will make this series the best it can be. We are aware the more strenuous tasks seem useless if unpaid, so we hope to achieve some profit in order to reward the hard work. As for now, we hope you can all enjoy making the series.
- We would love to make a close community with our voice actors and behind the scenes team. After all, it will be twice as fun to make this with a group of new friends! This production will have a more formal approach, and will not be very strict with deadlines.

Preferred Animation Style: 2d animation
This role is very much appreciated, and will help the production of this series drastically. This role is for any animator willing to put themselves into a fun project. There will be no deadline for any scenes, so feel free to work on this with any free time. This role can be for anyone at any skill level with animation, but any sort of skill would be preferred. Feel free to use it as a learning experience if you are a developing animator. You may have assistance from a lead member if needed.

Carl is quite socially awkward. He is an anxious-driven 15 year old boy who is a magical nerd. His voice should sound mostly realistically awkward (not over the top clutz), and he will develop over time to be less awkward. Feel free to play around with this voice. This role is the most undecided for vocal requirements. He should have a light tone, potentially nasally.
(You are trying to comfort/call someone over the phone. This is your job.) "Okay sir. Just remain calm and we can figure it out."
(You just made a mistake) "I'm sorry to bring that up"
That shininess is from the particle crystal. That crystal is made from almost purely particles being heated and pressurized in a cave. It looks blue from the natural color of particles.
Jordan is a military veteran who will do anything it takes to protect his nephew, whom he is taking care of. Jordan is not very social, and will typically speak in short phrases when he has to talk to someone. He is the largest character in the main cast, and should sound as such.
(Hardly any emotion, but not robotic) I am always calm.
(Firm tone) No, Jimmy. I need to decide who I’ll vote for.
Jason is a 17 year old officer who seeks to become the town's detective, and is very determined to do so. He should sound confident, eager, and sometimes motivational. He should have a tenor/baritone-like voice, but obviously a young man.
(Rushed, but not stressed) Carl! It's time to move. He's on the run and we won't catch him unless we hurry up.
(Sarcastically) Is it some sort of magic pull move or something? Next, you're gonna teach me to choke someone with it aren't you?
(Motivational) Everyone stand up! It's not our time to fall yet. We will fight as long as it takes to save our town. If this is it for us, then we will go down protecting the people that can't fight for themselves! Now get up and give it everything we have!
This is not a necessary role, but anyone willing to use this as a learning experience or wanting something to do with music creation may take this. There are no deadlines for any musical pieces, and this role will have likely the most freedom. Mp3 format is preferred.

The Criminal is the first villain of the series. Although not as long lasting as others, this criminal starts up the series and brings everyone together. The Criminal should sound intimidating and tough. He will only show up for one episode, but the voice actor may stick around if they'd like for other roles.
(Menacing) Thanks. You're a good kid, but I can't leave any witnesses.

(Threatening undertone) Oh, a military man? Thank you for your service.
Flashlight Man is a recurring minor character throughout the series. He is known for being obsessed with flashlights, and someone with a goofy personality will be amazing for this role. His voice should sound at least middle aged, but if you have an ageless voice, that can work too! The Texan accent is optional as well, but it is currently our vision.
(Assuring) Don't worry everyone! I've got the light!
Kevin is a small coffee shop owner. Usually chill, but he can get angry a bit easier than others. He likes to show himself as friendly and happy to serve.
(Advertisement-like) Hi! Welcome to K and J coffee, where we start your day!
[OPTIONAL- Show a bit of frustration or grumbling about something]
This role will be for anyone who would like to spice up the visuals of the channel, as well as future casting calls. Graphic design is nice, but drawing the characters and such would be fine too. Whatever your style is, we will be able to fit you in to our crew.

Richard is a snobby blonde haired 24 year old who is running for mayor. He is a reoccurring comedic relief character that will not have many lines, but shows up decently often.
As you all may know, last week I paid a hitman to kill my parents, and bought my way out of jail. I can buy this city out of its poverty as well.
And your pay will increase by 1,000 dollars!
The Sherriff is a strong headed radicalistic person, with nothing in his mind but war, believing it will solve things. Will not play much of a part with the story, but may show up later on.
If I’m elected for Light City, we will go to war against Kingston!
