The Rise of Kyoshi Audiobook
Project Overview
F. C. Yee’s The Rise of Kyoshi delves into the story of Kyoshi, the Earth Kingdom–born Avatar. The longest-living Avatar in this beloved world’s history, Kyoshi established the brave and respected Kyoshi Warriors, but also founded the secretive Dai Li, which led to the corruption, decline, and fall of her own nation. The first of two novels based on Kyoshi, The Rise of Kyoshi maps her journey from a girl of humble origins to the merciless pursuer of justice who is still feared and admired centuries after she became the Avatar.
The rise of Kyoshi audiobook will be narrated by myself, and every character will be voiced by a different individual. You must have a clear microphone. The book will be recorded one chapter at a time, I will provide the script- you are not required to own your own copy of the book, however it would be helpful.
The Rise of Kyoshi audio book is a project that will be published to all social medias I can, including (but not limited to) Tiktok, YouTube, and Instagram. I will research Spotify podcasts in order to attempt to publish it there, too

The titular protagonist of The Rise of Kyoshi, Kyoshi is a 16-year-old girl who runs away to join the daofei after discovering her avatarhood. She has a fierce sense of justice and loyalty, and will stop at nothing to do what she views as right.

"Maybe they knew the land was as worthless and unproductive as their children," Kyoshi muttered under her breath.
"You forget, Xu, there is always someone who stands above you in judgement." (Angry, Avatar State)
"Shouldn't you be sleeping with Yun?" (Nonchalant, innocent intent. Yun pronounced yoon with flat oo sound.) "You know what I meant." (Response to Ranging being dirty minded about that.)
Rangi, The avatars devoted bodyguard and later girlfriend, is a fierce soul who will kick ass to protect those she loves- and probably for fun, too. She is the daughter of Hei Ran of the Sei'naka clan, whom is the headmistress of a prominent firebending acadamy.
"This is, without exaggeration, the fourty-forth board you own now. You're not keeping it."
"The Avatar can be reborn. But you can't, Kyoshi. I don't want to give you up to the next generation. I couldn't bear to lose you."
Kelsang is an old airbending master who took in Kyoshi after she stole a sacred artifact as a child, and was the first to realise the possibility Kyoshi was the Avatar after she perfectly recited a poem Kuruk once wrote without ever reading it. He is friendly and lighthearted, and can often find the good in things most cannot.

"There's thousands. I'd ask you to help, but you wouldn't do it right." [Not mean, lighthearted. Placing items accurately to tradition.]
"Are you sure your child wasn't earthbending in a normal breeze? Are you sure the baby wasn't simply..... Playing?"
"But I've got a surprise for you. You can have three more! Four whole toys, to yourself! Wouldn't you like that?"
Jianzhu is one of Kuruk's old friends, and the earth sage in charge of teaching Yun earthbending. He later tarnishes his reputation with the revelation Yun was not the avatar, and his sacrifice of Yun to father glowworm.
"Why would I pay you if she's not the avatar?!?"
Yun is a highly skilled earthbender, and one of Kyoshi's closest friends (and crush). He is falsely identified as the avatar when he is young, and is sacrificed to the spirit Father Glowworm.

"Then what's the truth?" Yun said. "It was only five hundred? One hundred? What's the number that makes it justified?" [Response to finding out his mentor, Jianzhu, had buried 600 people alive]
"Tagaka, Marquess of the Eastern Sea," Yun said, using her self-styled title, "congratulations on your victory over the remnants of the Red-Face Devils." [Sycophantic, on a diplomatic mission. Needs to ensure he gets what he wants.]
"I want you to come on a new journey with me," He said quietly. "I need you by my side." [ Kyoshi speaks ] "The Eastern Sea, near the South Pole," he said. "I'm signing a new treaty with Tagaka."
Unfortunately, I'm going to struggle to add every single speaking role- Consider this the ensemble, where you may be called upon to provide background chatter in busy areas or voice characters with few speaking lines.
"Hey, you look familiar...."
"Well, what are you doing here?! Scram!"
"Oh, so the giant *does* talk after all..."
The Unnamed stocky man appears once in the first chapter, where he brings his daughter to Jianzhu and Kelsang to be tested if she's the avatar. He wants to be paid if she is the avatar.
"Sounds like a waste of time then. I'll take my child and go."
"Sixty-five silvers a year if she is the Avatar, and ten if she's not."
"That one ain't mine. That one ain't anyone's." [Talking about Kyoshi ]
A young child being tested to see if she is the Avatar. Appears later, alongside Aoma as a teen
"Die!!!" [Yelling at a toy as she attempts to grind it beneath her heel. Child's voice. ]
"She doesn't care. Precious servant girl doesn't give a lick about farming matters. She's got her cushy job in the fancy house. She's too good to get her hands dirty."
A nasty teenager, Aoma relentlessly teases and makes fun of Kyoshi for being an orphan without farmland to work on. She uses earthbending to make Kyoshi's job harder, until she is scared off by Rangi.
"So like I was telling the others, my mom and dad think we'll need to dredge the peakside canals earlier this year," Aoma said, drawing out the mom and dad intentionally, dangling what Kyoshi lacked in front of her. "One of the Terraces collapsed in the last storm."
The mother of Rangi Sai'naka, Hei Ran is a former headmistress of the fire nation's firebending academy for girls, and the crush of the late Avatar Kuruk.
"Impressive," The former headmistress of the Royal Fire Academy of Girls said, her arms crossed behind her back. "When the spirits ask for a circus clownto intervene on their behalf, I'll know our time together has paid off."
"I don't care anymore. I just want my daughter back." [Context: Rangi has been missing for weeks ]
"Your situation isn't unique," Hei Ran went on. "History is full of avatars like you who tried to coast by on their talents. You're not the only one who wanted to take it easy."
