The Moonlighters: Episode 2 - "Ghosts" / Episode 3 - "Death is a Highway"

Project Overview

The Moonlighters is an original project and story I'd created revolving around an Humanthropomorphic world (Humans/Anthropomorphic Beings) where a group of friends who, after graduating High School get into a tragic accident that changes their lives; during which, a strange event referred to as the ETZI (Extra Terrestrial Zone Incident) caused them, and many others to witness the event to gain superhuman abiliities. Five years later, the friends have joined forces and became a superhero team called The Moonlighters as they battle forces both normal as well as Enhanced criminals while juggling their daily lives, still trying to recover from the tragedy that tore them apart. As a new threat rises, they encounter new allies and new enemies while trying to resolve their own issues from the past.

Due to some more mature themes, (violence and some language), I request all applicants be at least 16 years of age or older. The series should not be more than PG-13 in comparative rating.

  • Roles Cast!

    Hey everyone, thank you all so much for participating in the casting call. I am super excited to get those selected in. For everyone else please stay tuned, it'll probably be some time but I will be adding casting calls in for the episodes as they come out. The next one up will be for episodes 4 and 5 which will have about half a dozen new named roles! This will continue through the season finale I have planned at episode 10! Thank you all for your time and attention and I'll see you guys on the next one :)

  • Small Deadline Extension

    Hey guys! This has been an awesome project, I've had some amazing auditions for Bobby come in but I wanted to see if I can round it off a little more so I will be extending the deadline 3 more days! Be sure to get any last minutes in. Also if any background artists are still game please feel free to audition as well! Thanks everyone!

  • Update

    So... wow, the casting on Max was so painfully tough, I really did not expect such a response to him, but I have made my selection for him. We still have Bobby Henderson as well as the artist roles available for these episodes and just to remind everyone there will be at least two or more characters introduced in future episodes even for one shot minor roles so keep your eyes out for that one! We've still got 5 days to go until the final character selections.

  • Boy. Is there a SHORTER Shortlist?

    Okay so for the roles of Alice, Max and the Extras--you guys are making me work it extra hard with the short listings, I wish I had a shorter-short listings column to make it easier. I've picked many of you as my favorites for each role and I'll narrow it down more this week, if you haven't been shortlisted (for the non extras) please feel free to try for Bobby the extras or wait to snag a role from the next casting call. I might bring on more extras than I've actually short listed because come on every action story needs an array of shouting screaming people right? :)

    Anyway thank you all so much for your interest so far! And stay tuned because I'm hoping to have the story on both YouTube and Spotify (if I can figure it out) soon!

  • Shortlistings Soon (and future role ideas)

    Hey guys! We're halfway through the month I will start shortlisting some of my favorites for the roles of Alice, Max, and the Extras role I created which will have probably several cast and I'll pick my favorites from there as we move into the production for these episodes I also wanted to let you know that aside from other extra roles there will be TWO characters introduced for episode 4 and beyond that may be recurring characters as well. So keep an eye out for them:

    Everett Jain (M) - Alice's single father and recovering alcoholic

    Raton (M) - A strange but courageous rat creature with an extremely broken understanding of language that befriends Alice

    I've only just started writing episode 5 so there may be more I haven't planned yet. I intend for season 1 to have 10 episodes. So definitely stay tuned! Right now I've got to work with the impossible task of picking from everyone's amazing auditions. Please spread the word though, I would love more auditions for Bobby and also I would love a strong background/scene artist as well to add to the visual novel aesthetic :) Please DM if you need anything as well.

Alice comes from a single parent home, after the ETZI event, she moved in with her father Everett in a lower-to-middle class neighborhood. Now sixteen she seeks out others who became Enhanced after the event in order to connect with them. She strikes up a strong friendship with Samantha Ross and looks up to her, quickly becoming a regular guest to the household. The others try to hold her back from superhero work, much to her chagrin, but she helps where she can and often finds adventures of her own.

Max is a short statured Fennec Fox who has been Leon's agent for almost two years, and he is one of the few who knows his identity; Leon is his world, he immediately snaps to attention when he asks to do something and goes to great lengths to land him the roles that Leon deserves. This obsessiveness might be the result of an unrequited crush (at least that's what his therapist thinks), but he keeps things professional while around him. Loyal and determined, he dreams of one day owning his own Agency and is often the butt of a lot of his peers' jokes; he strives to not only stand up to his naysayers, but to rub it in their faces.
