The Mid Kids (Casting Call 2!)
Project Overview
A show about 7 teens (ages 11-13) trying to get through their first year of middle school! It’s a light-hearted sitcom with a large variety of characters.
3 of the main characters already have VAs, but we still have other positions that need to be filled! I am currently working on a short, which is a prequel to the events of the show, focusing on two of the main characters, but I still need more people to help!

Maria Sobrenombre is a 11-year old Brazilian girl who moved to Texas about a year ago, but is still polishing her English skills. She is like her best friend, Paige, who is genuinely nice and friendly, but with a bit more attitude. Due to her lack of knowledge on the English language, she has the tendency to say/do things she isn’t supposed to... but she really likes gummy bears!
*Gasp* Ursinos De Goma??? These are the best!
Meu melhor amigo, Paige, can’t say my name right, so she calls me Mar-Mar. Which is basically her calling me the sea, but that’s okay, cause I love it!

Paige Elliot is a 12-year old girl, and, she is…. kinda, dumb! She’s dumb, but she is a really sweet person to be around! That’s something, she has so many friends that she forgets all their names! Or maybe that’s because her big brother dropped her as a baby and now she has memory loss, or does she? She can’t remember…
Anyways, the voice I’m looking for is a Karen Smith type (Mean Girls, the ORIGINAL MOVIE). A soft spoken voice who is clueless about how dumb she is most of the time.
Mar-Mar? I think she’s like Spanish, no… she’s from where they play soccer, I think.
I haven’t gone to class once, this map is so confusing I can’t find my way there.
That’s Iana! She’s one of my good friends! She may have tackled me, twice, and steals all my food, but, you know. It’s just playful stuff!
Leonard DeBlanc (calls himself Leonardo) is the most eccentric male 12-year old you’ll find at this middle school! According to him, he exceeds in Theatre, Choir, Band, Art, and anything else creative! (Don’t tell him I typed this but he kinda sucks). His confidence is at the absolute max, anything negative would destroy him, so, please, keep all negative comments away. He is also a bit self-absorbed and thinks he’s the best person in every room he walks in.
(Also trigger warning for any Christians/catholics or any religions that believe in Jesus and God, this character is STRICTLY non-religious, and says it out loud many times, so if you hate non-religious people, this might not be the role for you)
The voice I’m looking for is a Ryan Comedy voice (search him up, he’s like, really funny and I love his voice). With a Titus Andromedon (The UnBreakAble Kimmy Schmit) attitude! Seriously, listen to their voices and you’ll get it.
Well, I didn’t know that lady had muscle spasms! And it’s not my fault I got so excited over Lin-Manuel Miranda that I knocked her pills out of her hand!
Mrs. Tombstone! Or whatever your weird name is. I will let you know that I’m am EXTREMELY dedicated to theater! *Quieter* This hat is glued on to me willingly because I once played Matilda’s dad in my community theatre production!

Trucy is just your average chill 13-year old, we don’t really know how her being 13 in sixth grade happened, but that might be cause she’s British. She‘s usually pretty chill and monotone, not giving a damn about what others think. Although she does have some violent tendencies, and pulls out a pocket knife when she‘s triggered. She’s also really British, did I mention that? She really likes reading and writing stories, and has a great relationship with her sisters. Literally, she is happier around her siblings than her best friends, uh. I probably shouldn’t have said that. She just pulled out her pocket knife, RIP the description writer (aka me) then.
Ignoring the fact my description writer prob just got stabbed… the voice I specifically want for Trucy is like Octavia from Helluva Boss. Low and British

Vee’s coming over!? I mean *ahem* (calmer voice) Vee’s coming over?
Be quiet, at least I don’t have the talent of a dead cow.
And next up, we have. Dawn? What’s she doing here? She‘s not a main character and I’m not putting side characters yet. Hmmmm. Oh, wait, she hacked into the system and put herself there, makes sense, and now she just told me that she refuses to take herself off because she apparently deserves to get a voice first. Dang it!
Well, Dawn is, a bit egotistical, and a brat, and believes she’s important because she does the school news... side….
