INTRODUCTION
Hello, Everyone! This is a casting call for a 22 minute animated PILOT for my series, The Last Fire Sprite (Working Title). You may recall my previous casting call for an animatic I made to serve as a proof of concept for the series. If you haven't seen it yet check it out here!
Now I'm going forward with producing the first episode of the series!
I had a really great experience using this website last time, and I'm very excited to listen to the talent it provides this time!
THE PROJECT
A young Fire Sprite named Blaise awakens in the future to find her world completely changed. Magic is scarce and sold to the highest bidder. A twisted oligarchy holds the last living witch hostage in order to remain in power. Blaise bands together with Axel, a young street rat, in order to evade countless bounty hunters after the price on her head. Only together can they free the last witch and bring magic back into their world.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
PAYMENT
I have received a $1,000 scholarship to be used for paying voice talent. I can pay 1.5 USD per word if you are chosen for the role.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is December 10th, 2020.
Should I need callbacks for a particular role, I will notify you about scheduling a meeting via Zoom. The tentative date for callbacks will be December 12th.
When you are cast, lines will be self-directed with feedback for any needed retakes provided by the director.
The Huntsman is a gravelly brute who hunts magical creatures and sells them on the Black Market. He's a hardened criminal who finds joy in what he does. He's always smiling with his metallic jaw.
(You've trapped a Fire Sprite in a glass jar. She tries to burn her way out to no avail.)
Ah, ah. I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Don’t wanna burn through your oxygen supply.
(She asks, horrified, “Why are you doing this?”)
(You’re thinking about how much money she’s gonna make you when you sell her.)
Man’s gotta eat, little flame. And you’re gonna keep my belly full for a very long time.
(You've agreed to sell the Fire Sprite to a high-paying client. He's eager to see his prize.)
You in a hurry or something? I still haven’t gotten my money.
(he refuses)
I need to at least see it.
(You flash your metallic grin)
You know, to check your credentials.
An Informant stationed in the Underground. She can provide you any information you need for the right price. She's paranoid. Always looking to see if someone is listening to her classified conversations.
(Axel, a new client, enters your tent, money in hand.)
What would you like to know?
(After doing some research, you’ve come to the revelation that Axel is in serious danger, and by proximity, so are you.)
You’ve gotten yourself involved with some very dangerous people.
(Axel brushes off your comment. You need to make him realize how much danger he’s in.)
No. You don’t understand. The people who did this to you... They aren’t your run of the mill criminals.
(Whispering, paranoid that they might be listening)
I’ve had friends disappear for just whispering about them.
Kurf is a middle-aged Pluran (a man with four arms) who has looked after Axel since he was a kid. He's come to view Axel as the son he never had, and, whether he realizes it or not, Axel has come to see him as a surrogate father. He's always trying to keep Axel out of trouble. He has a warm presence that can make you forget about all of your troubles just for a moment. Think Pacha from the Emperor's New Groove.
(Axel has been missing for weeks and suddenly turns up again.)
Axel, is that you?
It's been weeks. Where have you been?
(After scaring off a group of thugs, you help Axel to his feet.)
You know I'm not always gonna be around to keep you out of trouble.
(You try lending him some advice. You’re tired of seeing this kid acting alone.)
What I’m saying is, you need someone to watch your back.
Caruka is a female Flourosapien who works with Axel. She has a crush on him but it's one-sided. She's an independent hard worker who managed to acquire her own apartment at just 17. She loves tea and having fun with her coworkers after work.
(You're trying to convince the guy you like to go out with you and your coworkers after work)
Hey, so a few of us were planning on going out tonight. Do you wanna come?
(A fight has broken out between one of your coworkers and a jerk. You're trying to break it up.)
Guys, cut it out. Nobody wants trouble here. Let’s go back inside before you make a scene.
(The jerk insults you and complains that your coworker spilled his drink.)
Excuse me? Be a big boy and buy yourself another one.
One of Axel’s coworkers at a construction company. He’s kind-hearted and wants the best for his friends. Construction work isn’t his dream job, but he makes the most of his situation.
(Your coworker Axel has been acting strange lately. You try to convince him to have some fun.)
Oh come on, Axel! It’s been ages since you’ve gone out with us! You still hold the record for “the longest one-handed hand stand”!
(Axel says he has other plans. Teasing, you ask:...)
Oh, really? You aren't meeting a girl are you?
The leader of a group of Upper-Level jerks picking a fight at a Ground Level dance club. He's stuck up and thinks he's superior to anyone below his paygrade. He's got a very punchable face.
(you're picking a fight with a Coworker and Caruka tries to break the fight up)
No way, Jelly, this guy just knocked over my drink.
(You and your friends have cornered Axel after he humiliated you at the club)
What’s the matter? No smart comments now that you’re cornered?
A slimy Concierge for the criminal hub known as the Underground. He's a stickler for the rules. If anyone breaks one of the Underground's rules he will execute them on sight.
(A new customer enters The Underground. You greet him.)
What are you looking to buy today?
(With sudden ferocity that was absent from your voice before, you draw dual laser pistols on a rule breaker.)
It is against the code to interrupt a transaction. You are hereby banned from the Underground, for good!
