The July 25th Lost Media Case (looking for Team Members!)

The July 25th Lost Media Case (looking for Team Members!)

Project Overview

Hey, my name is, or at least the screen name that most people know me as, Yumibebestgirl. If you know who I am, I'm known for making an infamous retake to a well-known SpongeBob creepypasta; https://youtu.be/p71Vp-Iy2o0?si=O_8uG2vI4qQEwmu6

As of writing, this video has garnered 2.4 million views, which is still incredible to me. While I'm grateful for the amount of support the video received, I now find it to be an outdated showcase of my current abilities as a videopasta creator.

Earlier this year, I decided to give my second try with the 7/25/2005 story. Something on a much grander scale. A 'lost media case", showcasing remakes of the original 7/25/2005 creator NiceANDCooll's other videos, as well as other similar SpongeBob videopastas, with my own take on them to fit my own spin on what the 7/25/2005 lore can be.

A while in production, I soon burnt out regarding suggestions for video remakes (some I had yet to do too) and even regarding the lore and overarching story I wanted to tell. So I decided to take a break from the project for a few months. Now that I'm back, I've concluded that this is a project that I can't pursue independently with my current ability, which is why I'm currently recruiting any new team members that can help collaborate with me on refining and completing this project much sooner than I initially expected.

I don't ask much, but it is preferred for some roles that you are aware of the "videopasta/retake" subgenre to understand just what type of project this is, and have experience with various video/audio editing software. With all this made clear, I hope to work with you guys soon!

This is a voice role for a mid-late 20s female character named Nicole. The image of the woman is a face-claim to help give an idea on what she might sound like. I'm thinking Nicole as a soft-spoken individual, but she knows how to stand her ground when things get serious. The audition lines are examples for the latter.

  • (interrogative) Do you want to be here, for the next three hours? Because that's how far I'm willing to go to get information out of you.

  • (irritated and angry) You're pissing me off, is what you're doing. Do you have any clue, any fucking clue, what situation you've just caused?

  • (somber) Undeterred by everything that has happened to us, all that I'm longing for, is an old friend.

This is a voice role for a mid-late 20s female character named Jerry. The image of the man is a face-claim to help give an idea on what he might sound like. I'm imagining Jerry as an aspiring content creator who is very tech-savvy on video editing software. I'm imagining his voice to be typical but also pretty eccentric, he grows concerned for his well-being once certain stuff regarding the past starts flooding back to him.

  • (casual, during vlogging) Okay, first video of the new apartment. I know there were some people in my last post who wanted me to do this, so…

  • (concerned, a bit uncertain) Hmmm, I might have this room repainted before anything else. Something about this color feels a little… too familiar to me.

  • (slightly exhausted) Hey, it’s Jerry. I’m not gonna lie, it’s late, I’m tired, and… (clears throat) The stuff that’s been happening to me lately, I need to talk about.

Individuals seeking this role must have prior experience with video editing and be familiar with the concept of "Creepypasta Retakes/Videopastas." At least one person has access to Windows Movie Maker for a "stylistically dated aesthetic", and one (or two) who owns a CRT TV and knows how to convert footage to CRT. I'm not asking for a whole lot of course, but I'm thinking at least 4 people could be a possible minimal amount. I recommend submitting some of your past work for consideration for this role.

I don't have much to input here, but I reckon the title speaks for itself. I recommend submitting some of your past work for consideration for this role.

I plan for this lost media case to have an overarching story that is pieced together throughout the media displayed, such as each SpongeBob hijacking occurring with some sort of purpose or message towards not directly at the viewers, but towards someone in-universe that the viewers learn more of as the story progresses.

The goal of the writing, I would say, is to be as purposefully confusing and misleading as possible without delving into the realm of the convoluted, as the narrative unfolds in a non-linear fashion, leaving open any plausible interpretation for its messages.

The storytelling is what I plan to accomplish the most with this project. When I created my original retake on 7/25/2005, I had originally planned a deeper story that played out throughout the hijacking. After seeing a few interpretations of what it all meant (given how vague the details were), I decided to allow any interpretation of the story.

The reason for this role is because I'm planning for this video to play similarly to lost media search video documentaries on YouTube (i.e., blameitonjorge, which will probably be the biggest influence). This role can be done for any gender but male is most likely preferred.

  • A broadcast signal intrusion (or signal hijacking) is a term to describe television cable broadcast signals being suddenly interrupted by a usually unknown party without permission.

  • On the morning of the 25th of July 2005, on the Nickelodeon channel, what was intended to be a casual, uninterrupted rerun of the animated series SpongeBob Squarepants, would be unexpectedly disrupted, and would display bizarre visuals in its place along with "unsettling glitches".

  • Nickelodeon and world renowned cable broadcast company "CloudyCAST" would respond, apologizing for the inconvenience and CloudyCAST even stating it to be an isolated issue that occurred at a nearby facility.

I don't have much to input here, but I reckon the title speaks for itself. I put these in the same category cause they take up most of the project's art department. What I'm going for regarding the art direction would be photo manipulation of certain SpongeBob SquarePants frames, and recompiling the show's footage to create certain scenes. It's a little difficult to understand so I highly reccomend RodrigoJogos' amazing Faceless Retake to get a better idea of what I'm trying to get to; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-BFI8B7u8g.

In this project, I plan to have a few original scores sprinkled in here and there. Like with the rest of sound design, I have no other input, other than I'm thinking of a primarily piano-styled soundtrack with a slower-paced somber feel to it, similar to the works of Peter Rudenko
