While his childhood friend Zain chose resistance and rebellion, Thane chose to learn the Empire's language, wear their clothes, and speak their diplomatic language, not to betray his people, but to ensure they have a voice at the table.

Admiral Kanis is a career military officer (early 40s) caught between duty and conscience. He arrives on Kastara to conduct resource surveys, knowing full well that the massive iridium deposits beneath the settlements will lead to mining operations that threaten the local water supply. He's professional, disciplined, and follows orders, but he's also capable of recognizing when the system he serves is wrong.

Maxwell Blackwood is a slick, calculating Conservative Party lawyer who sees Thane and Kanis's evidence against the Military Oversight Committee as the perfect political weapon. He's impeccably dressed, supremely confident, and operates with the smooth precision of someone who's spent twenty years mastering political theater. When he first approaches Thane and Rix in their holding cell, he's already planned three moves ahead—turning their "beautifully unpolished performance" into ammunition for his party's agenda.

General Marcus is a hardline military loyalist commanding forces on the GSS Jewel during the mutiny. He represents the military establishment's refusal to accept civilian oversight or acknowledge wrongdoing in the Kastaran operations. When Admiral Kanis leads the rebellion aboard the Jewel, Marcus takes command of the bridge and fights to maintain military control—even when it means threatening to crash the massive super carrier into Kastara itself.

The Empress is the leader of the Gawian Empire. She appears only once in Film 1 in a pivotal offscreen broadcast that shifts the entire political landscape. Small role in Film 1 with sequel potential depending on the direction of the franchise.

She is authoritative, measured, and carries the weight of an empire in every word. No theatrics, no speeches. Just power delivered quietly.

Rix is Thane's closest ally. He's a junior military officer who bends rules like a hobby and somehow gets away with it. Laid-back, sarcastic, and perpetually unimpressed by authority — but when the stakes are real, he's the most dependable person in the room.

He's not the hero of the story. He's the guy who makes the hero's plan actually work.
