Introduction

Hello, I'm Triplexxor, and I am working on a passion project called The Insecticides: BackStage. It is a series of short comic pages, paintings, and short animations. I have been working on it for the past 4 years and would now want to search for voice actors to make my animations come alive. I am excited to hear what you can do!

Setting

In a time where insects rule the world, a small ant decides to leave her anthill to pursue her dream of becoming a rock star. She’s joined on her journey by two others, Bethany the spider and Mark the bee. Everything might not be as it seems on the outside, as everyone has their own baggage to carry.

 

The Insecticides is a story about pursuing your dreams, while also handling your own emotions and feelings.


Description
The project is centered around a small ant called Amelia, and we follow her as she goes about her days off the stage and tries to handle her mood swings. She will go on all manners of adventures with her friends. But it won't all be happy as she is suffering from depression and dissociation.

I will keep the scope small at first, as it is unpaid, but I plan to raise the scope as my resources grow. At which point, I am open to discussing pay with you.

It will just be small animations at first, so no special talent is needed for that. But the bigger final project involves an animated web series and a music album, so singing would be mandatory at that point. But that is possibly some years away.

  • Hiatus

    Hi, thanks for showing interest in my project. Unfortunately, I didn't get any auditions for Amelia and Octavia.

    This means that I am unable to continue with any voice acting, as they are all very important. Therefore I will have to take a short break from searching.

Description:

Amelia is an ant with big dreams. She left her anthill to start a rock band with her newfound friend, Bethany.

She can appear a little naive and energetic. Coupled with her below average height, this often gets her seen as a child at first glance.

She uses her happy and naive demeanour as a cover-up for her depression.

Accent: North American

Voice: She has a rather moderately high-pitched voice. 

Pacing: She should be able to go from calm to rambling excitedly, to slow and sad.

Emotion: She should be able to go from happy and naive to defeated and depressed.

Description:

Bethany is the lead singer and bass player in their band. She plays the demon in the story of the band. 

She has a laid-back personality. She is supportive of Amelia and helps her in her mood swings. 

She is kind and slightly flirty in her demeanour. 

She struggles with her identity, as she believes that she was born in the wrong body. She has always wanted to be a black widow, and fears that she won’t be accepted for who she is.

Emotion: Supportive and caring, but can express a big range of emotions as the demon in the band.

Coming out of her cocoon with a deformed wing, she’s unable to fly. However, she hasn’t let that stop her from living her best life.

She has a seemingly care-free and happy personality. She’s able to see positives in most situations and loves helping her friends.

If you want the role in my final project, then singing is required for three songs on a music album that will be made when I can afford it.

Voice: Relatively high-pitched

Pacing: Energetic, but can slow down when needed

Mark is an egocentric bee with a huge ego. He is competitive to a fault and sees himself as better than everyone else. He has come to the belief that the whole world is against him and acts accordingly, with a snarky and really bad attitude.

He joined the band in belief that he would become famous and doesn’t like to take orders from others, which means that he often clashes with Amelia.

Pacing: Calm and nonchalant 

Emotion: Dismissive and patronizing
