ABOUT THE MOVIE
The Hunter and his Golden Heart is a fictional action, adventure & fantasy short film inspired by Philippine mythology set in the Pre-Colonial Philippine time in Luzon. Inspired by the infamous Philippine mythological creature called the Tikbalang, the film explores the Filipinos encounter with the mysterious creature.
STORY PLOT
In a tribal village in Luzon, an arrogant and boastful hunter named Akmad, famous for his wits and strength on hunting to provide for the villagers of his tribe. One fateful day, a mysterious old man belittled Akmad, telling him of how he is not the legendary hunter they boast him to be which enraged Akmad. This led to a fight until the old man proposed to Akmad that if he can defeat the mysterious beast in the faraway mountains, he will agree that he is the best hunter ever. This amused Akmad and he accepts the proposal with no hesitation. He ventured to the mysterious mountains to complete his quest. When he arrived at night, he stumbles upon a dangerous creature called the Tikbalang, who keeps tricking him going to various paths in the forest, driving him mad. Along the way, Akmad was able to meet other victims of the creature’s trickery and together they travel the deep forest of the mountains, finding ways to defeat the dangerous trickster, to be able to go home.

This is an action-filed film, you must be skilled enough for grunts, screams, etc.

Voice Actor
an arrogant and boastful hunter, who deep down is a kind-hearted soul, beloved by all in the tribe he resides. He uses a machete and bow with poisoned arrows.
Voice Type: Low pitch but can laugh loudly, with pride
(Amused with arrogance) Ha! What nonsense! I am the best for a reason, old man!
(Confident) Many people will be trapped even if we know how to escape and will continue for eternity. We must put an end to it’s trickery.
(Confident with arrogance) Heh, with that beast’s head, that old man will wish he never underestimated me.
Voice Actor
a free-spirited and strategic hunter who uses a spear and blowgun with specialized darts. He lived on the other side of the mountain until he was lured by the Tikbalang.
Voice Type: Medium Pitch
(Fear) HELP! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!
*Laugh* That’s nothing but a legend the elders made up!
(Enthusiastic) I’m Kidlat! It’s nice to meet another trapped human here.
Voice Actor
a blunt and fearless adventurer from the north of Luzon until she was lured by the Tikbalang. She wields a blade and knows how to use a bow.
Voice Type: Low Medium Pitch
(Annoyed) Get your heels up here! These fish aren’t gonna cook themselves!
(Analyzing) Strong rope. Good grip. Heh, Thank you Akmad, this bow is just right for me
(Worry) Alon, get over here! I found someone.
Voice Actor
a cold yet wise fisherman was visiting the tribe of Akmad until he was lured by the Tikbalang. He wields a spear with a blessed rope that is a family heirloom.
Voice Type: Low Pitch
(Slowly with caution) That beast is full of magic. Evil magic.
(Calm) This blessed rope was passed down in my family for many many generations. This is the last piece of family I have left.
(Sarcastic) You are a strong, fearless and intelligent hunter, like no other I’ve ever met. But a dumb man too.
Voice Actor
(SPECIAL CHARACTER AS THE STORY GOES FURTHER)
a mysterious old beggar who requested a challenge to Akmad.
Voice type: Old croaky deep voice
(Taunting) *Laugh* You? The infamous hunter of the tribe?! Now, this is interesting.
(Mysterious) Travel to the high mountains and bring the head of the beast. Only then, shall I deem you worthy of my praise.
Voice Actor
(Warning with worry) Akmad! You must not go up those mountains, it is deemed dangerous by the travelers!
(Comforting) Do not worry, they may see you as someone weak and small, but all I see, is nothing but my brave and strong son.
(Joyful) You are truly the best of us all!
Voice Actor
(Angry) Leave Old Man! You are the one not worthy in his presence!
(Anxious) Akmad, you may be strong, but the dangers in those mountains are not worth dying for.
