The Hollow Tells
Project Overview
The Hollow Tells is an original episodic psychological-horror game currently in development by Ilardeus Studio LLC using Unreal Engine 5.
The game follows multiple connected characters through surreal locations, fragmented memories, and disturbing events that gradually reveal a larger underlying story. The experience focuses on atmosphere, environmental storytelling, exploration, character performance, and psychological tension rather than traditional combat-heavy horror.
The first episode is currently in active production, with established game-design documentation, story development, environments, and gameplay implementation already underway.
We are currently expanding the development team and are looking for reliable creative collaborators who are interested in contributing to a serious long-term indie game project. Current openings may include voice acting, game-trailer video editing, and other production roles added as development progresses.
These are ongoing revenue-share positions rather than one-time commissions. Selected applicants will receive a written agreement defining their role, responsibilities, credit, revenue-share terms, work usage, and payment structure before production work begins.
Team members should be comfortable receiving direction, completing reasonable revisions, communicating regularly through Discord, and remaining involved throughout the development period. Work will be organized into clear tasks and practical production batches whenever possible.

Tom is the lead playable character in The Hollow Tells, an episodic psychological-horror game developed by Ilardeus Studio LLC in Unreal Engine 5.
This is a lead role with recurring dialogue throughout development. Much of Tom’s performance is delivered through internal thoughts, quiet reactions, and spoken dialogue as he explores surreal locations connected to his past.
We are looking for a natural, grounded performance rather than an exaggerated “horror voice.” Tom should sound like a real person trying to remain composed while gradually becoming confused, emotionally unsettled, and frightened.
The actor should be capable of subtle emotional shifts, including:
Confusion and disorientation
Quiet recognition and nostalgia
Emotional restraint
Vulnerability and grief
Rising tension and controlled panic
Natural conversational delivery
This is an ongoing revenue-share team role, not a one-time recording commission. The selected actor may be asked to record new dialogue, revised lines, alternate performances, and reasonable pickups as development continues.
Recording requests will be organized into batches whenever possible. Reliable communication through Discord, the ability to follow direction, and reasonable continued availability during development are required.
Recording requirements
Clean audio with minimal background noise, echo, or room reverb
Consistent microphone setup between recording sessions
Ability to provide WAV files
No heavy noise reduction, compression, effects, or artificial voice processing
A treated or suitably quiet recording space
Please perform the audition lines naturally. Avoid sounding overly dramatic or theatrical. You may provide two takes per line: one restrained and one slightly more emotionally exposed.
An NDA and written revenue-share agreement will be provided before production recording begins. The actor’s voice will not be used for AI voice cloning, synthetic voice generation, or AI training.

Line 1 — Disoriented and confused “…What? This isn’t my apartment. Where the hell am I?”
Line 2 — Quiet recognition and nostalgia “…No. That’s not possible. I was sixteen when I got this. Different life.”
Line 3 — Controlled panic “What the hell… did that door just unlock itself? What is… what is happening?”
Tom’s mother is a supporting character in The Hollow Tells, an episodic psychological-horror game developed in Unreal Engine 5.
She is heard during a painful childhood memory involving seven-year-old Tom and his father. She is loving, protective and emotionally exhausted. Although she is intimidated by her husband’s anger, her concern for Tom eventually forces her to confront him.
The performance should feel natural and emotionally grounded. We are not looking for exaggerated crying, shouting or theatrical horror acting. Much of the emotion should be communicated through restraint, hesitation and the feeling that this is not the first argument they have had.
The actor must be capable of moving between quiet concern, suppressed fear, frustration and firm maternal protection. Her final lines should show that she is frightened but no longer willing to remain silent.
This is a supporting voice role with deferred compensation. Final responsibilities, compensation, usage rights and credit will be established in a written agreement before recording begins.
Recording requirements:
• Clean audio recorded in a quiet environment
• Consistent microphone quality
• Ability to provide unprocessed WAV files
• Reliable communication through Discord
• Willingness to follow performance direction and provide reasonable revisions
Please do not include music, sound effects or heavy processing in the audition. Directions inside brackets should not be spoken.
Scene context:
Seven-year-old Tom has locked himself inside a room after becoming frightened. His mother wants to comfort him, but his father insists that they leave him alone. The argument begins quietly because she does not want Tom to hear them. Her fear and frustration gradually rise until she finally stands her ground.
[Quietly call toward the closed door. Gentle and worried.]
“Tom?”
[Speaking to the father. Controlled and careful, as though trying not to provoke him.]
“He’s been in there long enough.”
[More urgent now, but still keeping her voice down.]
“He’s seven years old. He’s terrified of you.”
[The accusation slips out before she can stop it. Hurt and anger are breaking through.]
“Because of what you’re doing to him.”
[Immediate and firm. She refuses to let him compare Tom with his brothers.]
“Don’t compare them.”
[Brief pause. She is frightened, but this is the moment she finally stands up to him. Do not shout unless it develops naturally.]
“You love him. That’s what you do.”
Please perform the complete scene in order as one audio file.
One carefully directed take is enough. You may also include a second take with slightly stronger emotion, but the performance should remain believable and restrained.

Tom’s father is a supporting character in The Hollow Tells, an episodic psychological-horror game developed in Unreal Engine 5.
He is heard during a painful childhood memory involving seven-year-old Tom and his mother. He is stern, emotionally distant and increasingly frustrated by Tom’s fearfulness. He believes harshness will make his son stronger, but his behaviour has instead made Tom terrified of him.
The performance should feel natural, restrained and psychologically believable. We are not looking for a theatrical villain, constant shouting or exaggerated anger. His authority should come from control, impatience and the sense that his anger could escalate.
The actor must convey emotional repression, frustration and intimidation while allowing brief traces of confusion or helplessness to emerge. His final line should not sound deliberately cruel. It should reveal a father who genuinely does not understand how to connect with his son.
Tom’s mother wants to comfort him, but his father insists that they leave him alone. The father believes Tom needs to overcome his fear without being comforted.
The argument begins quietly because Tom is nearby. His anger should build naturally, but the performance should remain grounded and controlled rather than becoming exaggerated.
[Low and firm. He expects the discussion to end here.]
“Leave him.”
[More forceful after being challenged. A warning rather than a shout.]
“I said leave him.”
[Frustrated and dismissive. He has convinced himself that Tom’s fear is the problem.]
“He’s terrified of everything. All he does is cry.”
[Defensive. He compares Tom with his older brothers because he cannot understand why Tom is different.]
“Michael and Liam never acted like this.”
[Brief pause. The anger falls away slightly, revealing genuine confusion and emotional helplessness. This should not sound like a dramatic villain line.]
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with a boy like him.”
Please perform the complete scene in order as one audio file.
One carefully directed take is enough. You may also include a second take with slightly stronger anger, but both performances should remain believable and restrained.
