The Hollow Archive (Pilot Episode)

The Hollow Archive (Pilot Episode)

Project Overview

The Hollow Archive is a horror fiction podcast blending folklore, mystery, and slow-burn psychological horror. The story follows Alice Halloway, a folklorist who inherits the home of her Great Aunt Eleanor and with it an Archive. The Archive is filled with records of supposed fae encounters that Alice isn't quite sure she believes. But as she sorts through Eleanor's life and belongings and begins cataloging the files, she is drawn deeper into an unsettling world, questioning whether the stories of her childhood are real and if there's something deeper happening with the Archives.

This first call will be for ONLY a pilot episode but if all goes well a full series will be put into motion. In which case there will be another round of casting for more characters. So please know if you don't get selected for one of the three roles here there is still a very good chance that there will be another role you can play in this!

  • Pilot Roles Filled

    Hello friends and folk,

All emails regarding callbacks for The Hollow Archive have officially been sent out!

This was by no means an easy decision—I did not make my choices lightly. We received an overwhelming amount of incredible auditions, and I was genuinely blown away by the talent, passion, and heart that each of you brought to your reads.

With only three roles to cast for the pilot, difficult decisions had to be made. In many cases, it came down to the smallest of details. If you weren’t selected for this round, please know it was a close call in more ways than one.

That said—this is not the end. Many of you made a strong impression, and I will absolutely be reaching out for future episodes and additional roles as the story unfolds. You are seen. You are appreciated. And your voice may yet echo through the Archive.

Thank you all so much for your patience, your artistry, and your time.

  • Important Casting Update!

    Hello, Friends and Folk,

This one man team is currently reviewing and shortlisting candidates for each role. Thank you so much to everyone who submitted! We received 65 auditions, and the talent, passion, and care you brought to your reads has been absolutely incredible.

    What’s next:

I'll be reaching out to a select group of voice actors for a second round of auditions. These will include a few additional lines from Episode One’s script, as well as some bonus lines to get a better sense of range, tone, and character interpretation.

If you included your Discord handle in your audition, I’ll be reaching out to you there. Otherwise, I’ll message you through this platform.

In addition, selected actors will receive a short questionnaire covering availability, comfort with certain types of scenes, and a few logistical details.

If you’re contacted for a callback, we’d love to hear back from you within a week, if possible. Final casting decisions will follow shortly after.

    PLEASE NOTE:

If you do not receive a callback message, please don’t fret. Perhaps you weren’t quite the fit I was looking for for these three roles, but The Hollow Archive is far from done casting. There is a whole ensemble of voices still waiting to be found. If I believe you’re a good fit for another character, I’ll be reaching out down the line. You’ll have first access to those roles before any future casting calls go public.

You are not dismissed, my friends, merely waiting for the Archive to open its doors to you.

Thank you again to every single one of you who auditioned. You've made this decision difficult in the best possible way.

    Warmly,

    E.K. Fenwick

  • Official Discord

The Hollow Archive Discord is now open

    Friends and Folk!

The doors to the Archive have creaked open just a little wider.

We now have an official Discord server for The Hollow Archive!

Whether you’re curious about the podcast, want to chat with fellow early birds, or just feel like swapping eerie stories and uncanny dreams, you’re warmly invited to join us.

Right now, the server is a little barebones. A library with very empty shelves if you will…but I have big plans as this grows.

Come say hi, introduce yourself, and help shape what this strange little corner of the internet becomes.

Come in, but mind the rules. The Archive listens.

    With a curious, delighted heart,

  • Pilot Episode Submissions CLOSED + Bonus

    Hello Friends and Folk!

I am utterly bewildered and delighted by the number of auditions I received for Episode One of The Hollow Archive. When I first floated this strange little podcast idea into the world, I truly didn’t expect more than maybe... ten people to show up. Instead, I’m still reeling at the over 60+ auditions waiting for me to take a listen (in the best way possible).

Auditions officially closed today, and I’ll be making casting decisions for Episode One by the end of the month. Thank you all for your patience while I listen through the magic you sent in.

In the meantime, I have something else to open up to you.

I’m planning a few mini trailers and bits of bonus content—whispers, rhymes, eerie moments between the static—and I want your voices to help bring them to life.

As a small thank you to everyone who auditioned (whether or not you end up in the episode), I’d love to include you in these extra pieces. Think: one-liners, strange chants, distant echoes in the dark. If you’re open to it, I’ll be sending out a link to some short snippets with a few options to choose from.

More details soon. For now, thank you. Thank you for believing in this weird, haunted story. The Archive has begun to open, and it’s better with you in it.

    With gratitude and creeping curiosity,

    E. K. Fenwick

  • Deadline + A Fun Update

Wow, time flies! I can't believe it's just 2 weeks until submissions close already. I've had an amazing time listening to everyone's auditions and I want to thank everyone who has tossed their hat into the ring so far! You are all amazing and if I could give you each a cookie I would!

SO now! For some fun updates! The first of which is that a website has been started, and while right now everything is still hidden behind a maintenance screen, you can view the start of it here: https://thehollowarchive.com/

And because I'm impatient for the site to be finished (my own schedule's fault really), I've also created a silly little tumblr blog to tide me over until the site is done. Here I'll be dropping fun little extras for the time being! https://thehollowarchive.tumblr.com/

The final bit of news is that next week I should have the final draft of episode one DONE. Meaning I will be putting out a small sneak peek!

Protagonist, Folklorist, and the current Storykeeper of the Hollow Archive. Logical, driven, and deeply curious. A skeptic who wants to believe but can’t quite let go of her rational mindset. She loves the stories of Fae her Great Aunt Elanor once told her and once Elanor passes and Alice is left the archives, she must come to accept the truth behind all those tales.

This role will have the most speaking lines as the central figure in The Hollow Archives

  • It’s just folklore. Stories passed down to keep people from wandering too far into the dark.

  • The Archive doesn’t make sense. Files appear where they shouldn’t, voices whisper from tapes that were never recorded. And sometimes… sometimes, I hear my own voice saying things I don’t remember.

  • (frustrated, but trying to stay calm) “Bea, I’m fine. I’m just— I just need to sort through these files. One more night. I’ll be home soon. I promise.”

  • (gently, but firm) Alice, you haven’t been sleeping. You missed dinner. Again. Whatever’s in that place—it’s getting to you.

  • (angry, but hurt) You don’t get to just vanish into your little Archive and expect me to wait around! I love you, Alice, but I can’t watch you disappear into this… this obsession!

  • (soft, desperate) Please. Just tell me the truth.

A mysterious fae, just a voice in the wind, and our antagonist. For the Pilot, his lines are few, but if this goes to a full season, he will have a very important role as our main antagonist and the hand behind all evil.

  • (threatening, but with a smile) “I have been here far longer than you. Longer than your great-aunt. Longer than this Archive. And if I wish it, I will be here long after you are gone.”

  • (fascinated, almost affectionate) “You are such an interesting creature. So desperate to understand. So willing to trade away the things that make you human.”

  • Give me your best amused evil chuckle
