Voice Range: Soft and charmy.

Piper McLean is one of the main characters in The Heroes of Olympus. Piper is the Greek demigod daughter of Aphrodite and Tristan McLean and is currently the head counselor of the Aphrodite Cabin. She is currently dating Jason Grace, son of Jupiter.

Her demigod "powers" include "charmspeak" (essentially, magical persuasion) and the ability to speak French, the language of love. She is also occasionally able to see visions in her magic dagger Katoptris (Ancient Greek for "mirror"), which once belonged to Helen of Troy. The dagger lost that power after the battle against the giants in Athens.

Though she later learns it was all a trick of the Mist, she believed she was once his girlfriend while they attended the same school. She works hard to recreate this relationship in real life when she comes to Camp Half-Blood. She is also friends with all of the seven quest members in The Heroes of Olympus, especially Annabeth and Leo.

  • “Being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It just means that you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.”

  • “Are you sure they’re Roman?”

  • “Fear can’t be reasoned with. Neither can hate. They’re like love. They’re almost identical emotions. That’s why Ares and Aphrodite like each other. Their twin sons – Fear and Panic – were spawned from both war and love.”

He is described as having curly brown hair, brown eyes, a cheerful face, a slim and scrawny build, dark skin, and a mischievous smile. He is Hispanic-American and speaks Spanish. Leo has the ability to create and manipulate fire, a skill that no child of Hephaestus has had for 400 years. He also has severe ADHD even by demigod standards. He is an excellent mechanic and at one point repairs a bronze dragon running wild in the camp's woods, which he names Festus. Leo and Piper have Mist-induced memories of meeting and becoming friends with Jason.

  • “Gaea? Isn’t that Mother Nature? She’s supposed to have, like, flowers in her hair and birds singing around her and dear and rabbits doing her laundry.”

  • *chuckles* “Man, you’ve never seen those before? There’s a simple trick to getting out.”

Voice Range: Mid. Stern. Leadership personailty

Annabeth Chase is the child of Athena and West Point history professor Frederick Chase. She has an extensive paternal family including Magnus Chase. Annabeth ran away from her father and stepfamily at age seven and encountered Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace. They lived as runaways until they were found by Grover Underwood and taken to Camp Half-Blood. Annabeth remains attached to Luke and convinced of his goodness even after his decision to support "Kronos". He was also her first love interest. Her attempts to bring Luke back into the fold are an important theme in the books.

Her main weapon is a short celestial bronze knife given to her by Luke Castellan. In The Last Olympian, it was found to be a cursed blade, which Luke used to eject Kronos from his soul, consequently killing himself. After losing it in The House of Hades, she uses a drakon-bone sword given to her by the giant Damasen in Tartarus.

Annabeth has dyslexia, as her brain is hardwired to be able to read Ancient Greek, and has ADHD.

  • “The real story of the Fleece: there were these two children of Zeus, Cadmus and Europa, okay? They were about to get offered up as human sacrifices, when they prayed to Zeus to save them. So Zeus sent this magical flying ram with golden wool, which picked them up in Greece and carried them all the way to Colchis in Asia Minor. Well, actually it carried Cadmus. Europa fell off and died along the way, but that's not important."

  •  "How many reasons do you want? One time my mom caught Poseidon with his girlfriend in Athena's temple, which is hugely disrespectful. Another time, Athena and Poseidon competed to be the patron god for the city of Athens. Your dad created some stupid saltwater spring for his gift. My mom created the olive tree. The people saw that her gift was better, so they named the city after her."

Thalia Grace is a Greek demigod, the daughter of Zeus and the mortal Beryl Grace, and the older sister of Roman demigod Jason Grace. She was transformed into a pine tree on Half-Blood Hill, which still stands as the official border for Camp Half-Blood to this day after being mortally wounded by attacking monsters. She is later resurrected by the Golden Fleece under the manipulations of Kronos in an attempt to control the Great Prophecy. She is currently the lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis, leading them in the absence of the goddess after accepting Artemis' offer following a failed attempt by Kronos to use Thalia to destroy the gods.

Thalia has bright blue eyes and spiky black hair, and wears black eyeliner and punk style clothing. Jason describes her as having a Mediterranean complexion. Annabeth and Chiron remark that her personality and character traits (like her bravery and loyalty) are very similar to Percy's. She also shares some traits with her father, such as his pride, confidence, and vehement reactions to betrayal or contradiction. An incredibly skilled warrior, she is willing to attack even Luke, who was known as the best swordsman of the last 300 years. Thalia's weapons are the shield Aegis, disguised as a silver bracelet, and a spear disguised as a Mace can.

  • "You satyrs. You're all in love with Artemis. Don't you get that she'll never love you back?"

  • "That was Hera," Thalia grumbled, "Her Majesty, the Loose Cannon."

Aphrodite claims Piper McLean soon after her arrival at Camp Half-Blood. She gives Piper her blessing with new magic makeup, hairdo and a pretty sleeveless dress with gold bracelets.

She later makes an appearance in her daughter Piper's dream and talks to her. After the talk, Leo ValdezJason GraceGleeson Hedge, and Piper all have new clothes and a bag with supplies. In the dream, she tells Piper of their true enemy, Gaea. She also reveals why she considers herself to be the most powerful goddess as well as the oldest, being created out of Ouranos. When he was defeated his immortal essence created the sea foam from which Aphrodite was born. She believes she is the most powerful due to the fact that love can bring the gods to their knees. She also tells Piper that she truly loved Tristan McLean, and understood him well enough not to reveal her real nature. Aphrodite reveals a more caring nature, as shown by appearing to care for her children far more than the other gods. Also, by treating people she loves in a kinder way, she seems to understand humans more than the other gods

  • “Not knowing is half the fun. Exquisitely painful isn't it? Not being sure who you love and who loves you? Oh, you kids! It's so cute I'm going to cry!”

  • “I'm so glad you're here," Aphrodite said. "War is coming. Bloodshed is inevitable. So there's really only one thing to do."

Rachel Elizabeth Dare is the seventeen-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dare. She is the current Oracle of Delphi, and also described as one of Apollo's favorites.

Piper McLean and Annabeth found Rachel in Hera's Cabin, chanting a prayer or spell. She ran to Annabeth and gave her a hug, and said she had came as soon as she heard about Percy being missing. The two talked about Percy for a few minutes until Annabeth said she was being rude and introduced Rachel to Piper. Piper asked if she could see the future, and Rachel said that she could say prophecies that don't make sense, and not the future. Piper was weirded out and Rachel laughed, saying everyone found it creepy but insisted she was harmless. She explained she was in the cabin because she could sense there was a link between Percy's disappearance and Hera. When Annabeth talked about how she was redesigning Olympus, Rachel said she was great and that he could see the salad bar. Rachel and Annabeth both agreed something bad was happening. Suddenly, Rachel's body stiffened and began to glow. She grabbed Piper and spoke from Hera's voice, telling her to free her by the winter solstice.

A few days later, after the quest was over, Rachel gathered for a council meeting in the big house. Rachel was wearing her Clarion Ladies Academy uniform and smiled at Jason. She was the only one in the room not nervous about the conversation and said that Jason will help build the boat and then sail for Greece. She said that he would need the help of the Romans to defeat the giants, which Clarisse La Rue objected to. Rachel also said that there would be Romans in the prophecy of seven too to help, since Hera is convinced they would need both camps to defeat the giants.

William Andrew Solace is a sixteen year old[1] Greek demigod, the son of Apollo and Naomi Solace. He is the current head counselor of Apollo's Cabin and a prominent healer at Camp Half-Blood. Will is currently the boyfriend of Nico di Angelo.

Will lent Annabeth his chariot from his cabin to borrow, and was very upset when it crashed in the lake. Will yelled at Annabeth, and said she could borrow it, not destroy it, and Annabeth apologized and promised to get it fixed. Will scowled at the chariot. Will also questioned why LeoPiper, and Jason weren't claimed yet, since they looked way older than thirteen. Before Annabeth could explain, he asked if there was any sign of Percy, and Annabeth said no. After Leo was claimed, at Annabeth's request, Will took Leo to Hephaestus' Cabin to meet his bunk mates and give him a tour of Camp Half-Blood. Will said sure, and put a hand on Leo's shoulder as he walked him to the cabin, promising to explain everything.

Will took Leo on a tour of the camp, which impressed Leo, who thought that Will was cool. Leo asked if he would get a sword, Will winced as if he found the notion disturbing, and Will said he would probably make his own in Cabin 9. Will also explained who his dad was, and how his name is Hephaestus, not Vulcan, and that it was good that he was claimed almost immediately. He began to mention a curse but stopped himself, making Leo worry. Will became concerned when Leo thought he saw Tía Callida, and Will said that he had a long day and the Mist was playing with his head.

\

Khione is the Greek goddess of snow, daughter of Boreasgod of the North Wind and Winter, and sister of Zethes and Calais. She is depicted as a goddess in the series, although in some myths she is visualized as a snow nymph. Her Roman counterpart, Chione, is sometimes used as merely an alternative way of spelling her name. Khione likes to turn people into ice sculptures

When Jason GracePiper McLean, and Leo Valdez visit Boreas's penthouse suite in Quebec, they were given a "not-so-warm" welcome by Khione and her two immortal demigod brothers Zethes and Calais. As soon as he sees her, Leo develops an instant crush on her, but she doesn't like him because she can sense the fire within him. She makes him wait with Calais while she and Zethes take Jason and Piper to see her father, Boreas. She supports the idea of turning them into ice statues, but her father disagrees and she is extremely angry at him, but was forced to listen resulting in her letting them go.

Later when the demigods were flying over Detroit, she summons a strong wind to knock Festus out of the sky and freezes the wires in his head which damages the control disk, thus preventing him from flying. Leo is confused about the frozen wires but didn't suspect it was Khione.

After encountering MidasJasonLeoPiper, and Coach Hedge camp out on Pike's Peak, where Khione tells Lycaon to track them down and kill them. She also summons a blizzard to block Jason's lightning bolt. When they visit Aeolus, their godly parents convince him to help them, but before he does, Khione whispers in his ear, telling him that Gaea is awakening and that he must kill the demigods, but Mellie, his assistant, helps to save them and get them to California.

Finally, Khione appears at the Wolf House, revealing her connections to all the problems the demigods faced on their quest and that she is working to awaken Gaea. She tells them that she plans to overthrow her father and orders the monsters to kill them. She also reveals that she is the cause for the closure of Olympus, and she used her power to suggest (in a whisper) to Zeus, that the gods being so active on Earth was causing Gaea to awaken. In an effort to stop this, he closed Olympus off from the mortal world. Khione then invites Leo to join her on the conquest, but Leo declines, and uses fire to fight her, knocks her down, and tries to hit her with a flaming hammer, but she turns into snow and melts. It is unknown whether she is actually gone or just retreated into the snow. It is possible that, like Porphyrion, she warped to Mount Olympus in Greece.

  • "I suppose I shouldn‘t be surprised you don‘t recognize me. Even in the ancient times the Greeks did not know me well. Their island homes were too warm, too far from my domain. I am Khione, daughter of Boreas, goddess of snow."

Boreas is the Greek god of the North Wind and Winter. He is also one of the four seasonal wind gods that work for Aeolus, the master of all winds. He settled down in Quebec CityCanada, the oldest settlement in the North. He's the only god that we know of who does not normally speak English in North America; he speaks French instead, as it is the sole official language of the province of Quebec. His Roman counterpart is Aquilon.

Boreas appeared at his palace when Jason GracePiper McLean, and Leo Valdez go to him for help (because he was the closest to Camp Half Blood). He is ordered to kill the heroes, due to Aeolus' command. But Boreas first agrees to hear what the heroes are setting out to do, which is when they tell Boreas that they are on a quest to save Hera. After Boreas saw Jason's tattoo, he changes into his Roman form, Aquilon. Boreas releases them out of amusement, thinking they are bound to die, and there is no need for him to kill them.

  • (FRENCH) “Bienvenu,” the king said. ―Je suis Boreas le Roi. Et vous?”

  • "All gods do this. Most Greek gods speak English, as they now reside in the United States, but I was never welcomed in their realm. My domain was always far to the north. These days he likes Quebec, so he speaks French."

  • "I shall deign to speak your language,‖ Boreas said, ―as Piper McLean has honored me in mine. Toujours, I have had a fondness for the children of Aphrodite. As for you, Jason Grace, my master Aeolus would not expect me to kill a son of Lord Zeus … without first hearing you out. "

Juno is Hera's Roman counterpart. While the Greeks envisioned Hera as imperious and proud, the Romans saw her counterpart as the patron goddess of Rome. As Juno, she becomes more disciplined, militaristic, and warlike.

Some time before the start of the series, Juno learned of the seven demigods who would be needed to battle the forces of Gaea by the Fates. In response, she started working behind Jupiter's back and began to prepare them for the coming battle.

She appeared to a child of Mars named Frank Zhang and told his mother Emily Zhang, that his life force was tied to one of the sticks in the fire, and once it burned up, he would die. Frank's grandmother quickly took the burned piece of wood from the fire, and Emily kept it until she went to war in Afghanistan, upon which Emily gave it to Grandma Zhang to give to Frank if she did not come back. After Emily's death, Frank brought the stick with him to Camp Jupiter.

After the Second Titan War, she came up with a plan to make Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter work together. However she was captured by Gaeawith the help of the snow goddess Khione, and Gaea began to drain Juno's power to raise Porphyrion. Juno managed to save up enough energy to send Jason Grace to Piper McLean and Leo Valdez, where he would be taken to Camp Half-Blood. A few days earlier, she had also transported Percy Jackson away from Camp Half-Blood and put him to sleep until the time was right.

Medea was the Princess of Colchis, the land that held the Golden Fleece during the time of the original Jason, as well as a powerful sorceress. After the Doors of Death were opened, Medea returned to the land of the living, but was killed again. Medea was once again resurrected before the Doors were closed and allied herself with Triumvirate Holdings.

Jason GracePiper McLean, and Leo Valdez come to her underground mall, M's, after following some venti, where Medea introduces herself only as the Princess of Colchis. She begins to show the demigods her stock of magic objects and potions. She shows a momentary flash of anger when she hears the name of Jason, same as that of the herowho betrayed her. Soon, Piper realizes that Medea is up to no good. When Jason and Leo seem to want to keep shopping, Piper notices that Medea is charmspeaking them into buying whatever she wants them to. Piper attempts to snap them out of it with her own charmspeak and the stories of the horrible things Medea committed in the past.

Medea is revealed to have captured Gleeson Hedge and the venti (caged in the bottom floor of the mall). The demigods ask for the price to retrieve the captives. Medea says the price would be quite high since the trade is unfair, and that the person buying the product is named Jason. She continues to charmspeak them to the point where they are barely listening to Piper. Medea tells them to chop each other into pieces so she could bring them back to life even stronger (the same way she killed Pelias). Leo and Jason pull out their weapons.

Piper gets Medea to admit that she can see the future. Medea reveals that she divined that Leo would rise up against Gaea, so she warned Gaea from the Underworld. This event set in motion the awakening of Gaea and the death of Leo's mother. As a reward, Medea was set free of the Underworld and allowed to return to the land of the living, as long as her mall remained underground so Gaea could keep watch on anyone that entered.

Eventually, Jason and Leo come to their senses. Medea immediately releases her two sun dragons on the two demigods. She tries to run away and Piper chases her. Piper fatally wounds Medea by throwing poisonous chemicals on her. Meanwhile, Leo summons Festus, who helps Leo and Jason to defeat the sun dragons and pick up the cages containing Coach Hedge and the storm spirits.

Just before the demigods escape, Medea cries out that she doesn't want to be abandoned again as she was by the original Jason. She almost manages to gain Piper's sympathy by offering to cure Jason of his amnesia. The demigods choose to leave Medea, however, when they realize that she is only trying to buy more time to destroy them. She is an agent of Gaea, and the one who Hera warned them about. As they fly away with Coach Hedge and the storm spirits, they look back to make sure the she isn't chasing them.

Later in the book, Aphrodite appears to Piper in her dream where she is shopping in Medea's mall. Aphrodite warns Piper that Medea will return later on, along with others.

He and his brother Calais allow LeoPiper McLean, and Jason Grace into Boreas' home.

Zethes is obvious in his attempts to impress Piper, often commenting that she is very pretty, and when she loses the blessing of Aphrodite, he offers her some of his own beauty products, which she promptly refuses.

Zethes and his sister Khione both want the demigods turned into ice statues (so Khione could keep Jason, and Zethes could keep Piper) but their father Boreas refused, wishing to let them go. As they leave, Zethes and Cal warn them to be careful, especially when Jason insults Khione, because she never forgets insults.

Porphyrion is the king of the giants in Greek and Roman mythology. He also acts as one of the main antagonists in The Heroes of Olympus series, second only to Gaea herself, his mother.

Gaea uses Hera's power to release Porphyrion from Tartarus, and is trying to awaken other giants to fight the gods. After Jason GraceLeo Valdez, and Piper McLean arrive at the Wolf House, Hera, still trapped by the power of Gaea, pleads for the heroes to set her free before Porphyrion can be awakened. However, the demigods act too late and Porphyrion awakens, climbing out of a spire of earth. Jason told the others to keep working while he went to try and keep the giant busy.

When Jason approached him, Porphyrion called him an appetizer and asked if he was Hermes or Ares. However, Jason said he was a demigod son of Jupiter, which only made Porphyrion laugh and thank Jupiter as he considered Jason an offering to himself. Jason and Porphyrion then start a boasting match against each other, with Hera interrupting saying Zeus would destroy him just like before. Porphyrion counters however, saying that Zeus could not destroy him and needed the aid of demigods. He also told them what they plan on doing, traveling to the original Mount Olympus in Greece and destroying the gods at their roots, instead of attacking the current Olympus as Kronos had done.

He then turned away from Hera and brought his attention back to Jason and told him he had no chance, as Porphyrion was at his weakest and could still turn Jason into a grease spot. He then called his spear from the earth and summoned Storm Spiritslycanthropes, and Earthborn to his location. Jason however stood up to him and called on the winds, which Porphyrion actually looked surprised about. Before Porphyrion could react, Jason climbed up his knee and stabbed him in the ear, before calling a bolt of lightning down which blasted Jason away and blackened the side of Porphyrion's face. However, this did not kill him and Porphyrion raised his spear, which started glowing, to kill Jason.

However, Leo and Piper had managed to free Hera at that moment. She was about to release her true form, so Porphyrion shot Jason a look of hatred before slamming his spear into the ground and vanishing into the earth. When Leo asked Hera optimistically if he had melted, Hera says that he could only be killed by a god and demigod working together and that he fled once she was free as he was not at full strength.

  • I was created to be Zeus’ replacement, born to destroy the lord of the sky. I shall take his throne. I shall take his wife—or, if she will not have me, I will let the earth consume her life force.

Enceladus is one of the Gigantes and one of the main antagonists in The Lost Hero, and one of the many secondary antagonists in The Blood of Olympus.

Enceladus captured Tristan McLean, the father of Piper McLean, so that he could use his daughter to lure Leo Valdez and Jason Grace to him. He had hoped that they would be killed along the way, but was still pleased to have Piper lead them to him so he could kill them himself. He also appeared to Piper in a dream where his flying head was seen over a purple fire while over Detroit. He showed her the pain her father was in and threatened her not to betray him. When she woke up, Festus was falling out of the sky and Piper thought Enceladus somehow managed to attack them from so far away. When confronted at the top of Mount Diablo, he claimed he was born to fight Athena, calling himself the anti-Athena. While Jason and Leo attacked him, he called upon the Earthborn to help him defeat the demigods, but most were destroyed when Leo used the construction equipment in the area and Piper managed to take out one with her dagger. He was killed at Mount Diablo by a combined attack from Jason Grace and a lightning bolt from Jupiter, as only a god and a demigod working together can defeat the giants.

  • I was once proud too. I thought the gods could never defeat me. Then they hurled a mountain on top of me, crushed me into the ground, where I struggled for eons, half-conscious in pain. That taught me patience, girl. It taught me not to act rashly. Now I’ve clawed my way back with the help of the waking earth.

Nico di Angelo is a 15-year-old [1] Italian-born Greek demigod, the son of Hades and Maria di Angelo. He's also the younger brother of the late Bianca di Angelo and the paternal half-brother of Hazel Levesque. He's known in the Underworld as the "Ghost King" after taking the title from Minos in The Battle of the Labyrinth. He is currently in a relationship with Will Solace

Annabeth mentions that Nico is searching for Percy along with Tyson, Grover, and the Hunters of Artemis, but otherwise, he doesn't appear in this book. It's to be assumed that he doesn't stay at Camp Half-Blood much, as Annabeth said he "sometimes" shows up, which could be due to his double duty at Camp Jupiter as Ambassador of Pluto. She mentions him as one of the only children of the big three along with Percy Jacksonand Thalia Grace. Unknowingly to her, Jason Graceis also a child of the big three, being the son of Jupiter and Hazel, the daughter of Pluto.

Chiron first appears when he meets Jason and says to him in horror: "You...you should be dead." He then "invites" Jason inside the big house. He is still the camp's activities director; but Mr. D is barely mentioned in this book, since Zeus has brought the gods back to Olympus and closed it off. Chiron is unable to tell anybody about the existence of Roman demigods and Camp Jupiter, which infuriates Annabeth (he never withheld information from her before), but he does admit that the Second Great Prophecy could predict something worse than the Second Titanomachy. When Leo returns from his quest and reveals Bunker 9, Chiron finally tells of its' history with the Demigod Civil War. He also explains that there was a possibility of Bunker 9 rekindling the same spark that caused the Civil War between Romans and Greeks and that was why even in the Second Titan War, it was never used until Leo had discovered it. Later at the council meeting, he discusses with the other council leaders the events of the quest, the building of the Argo II, and Annabeth and Jason discuss Percy's possible location and condition.

  • “Gods cannot cross each other’s territories except by invitation. That is another ancient rule. Heroes, on the other hand, have certain privileges. They can go anywhere, challenge anyone, as long as they’re bold enough and strong enough to do it. No god can be held responsible for a hero’s actions. Why do you think the gods always operate through humans?”

Tristan McLean is a famous film star of Cherokee descent. He is one of Aphrodite's mortal lovers, and the father of Greek demigod Piper McLean.

Tristan McLean is held hostage by the giant Enceladus, who blackmailed his daughter, Piper, to lead a group of demigods into a trap. Although he is not seen for most of the book, Piper has many flashbacks to times when they were together.

The first time Tristan is brought up is when Leo made a comment about how if the popular girls at the Wilderness School knew who her father was, they would be worshiping Piper and saying things like "We're not worthy." It is later learned that Tristan is a popular movie star and has played many important parts, one of his first being the King of Sparta. He thought the movie poster of the film looked funny, but it has became very popular and has sold many copies. When Piper arrived at Camp Half-Blood, there was a poster of him hanging up on the wall, but it is later torn down by Drew after learning that Piper was his daughter.

In one of Piper's flashbacks, she remembered when he told her why he did not play any Cherokee parts, as it would be too close to home. He also does not believe in any god(s) because if he knew they did exist, he would always blame them if things went wrong. In another flashback, he found out from his assistant Jane that Piper stole a BMW, but instead of talking to her about it, he goes along with everything that Jane says and sends her to the Wilderness School.

Eventually, Medea used charmspeak to control Jane, who told Tristan that his daughter was in danger and he needed to go to San Francisco to save her. He does, but is captured by Enceladus and chained. Piper has a dream about his capture and tries to call him with no success. When she calls Jane to find out where he is, she brushes her off and claimed that even if she does not know where he is, he would vanish sometimes, so she had yet to call the cops or file a missing persons report.

Piper, Jason Grace, and Leo Valdez make it to the lair of the giant Enceladus to save Piper's dad, who has been chained and beaten in the far corner of the room. While Piper sets him free, Jason and Leo fight off the giant and his Earthborn. As the Earthborn hold a grudge against Jason, Enceladus says that McLean is Jason and the ogres want to kill him. After Leo had killed most of the Earthborn, the most powerful charges at him, but Piper for the first time uses her knife and kills the monster. The heroes manage to win the fight with some help from Zeus. Tristan is lifted to a nearby airport where he is almost driven insane by the idea that gods are real, and from the torture the Enceladus inflicted on him.

Using the potion given to her by her mother, Aphrodite, Piper erases her father's memory of the days he was imprisoned. Coach Hedge takes care of him and acts as his new bodyguard and "life coach" while he recovers. Tristan also fires Jane after she failed to call the police while he was missing. He hires Mellie as his new assistant soon after. Tristan gives the Park Service in the Bay Area a new helicopter (though probably set up by Coach Hedge or Mellie) and hires the ranger pilot, who loaned Leo, Jason, and Piper her helicopter, to fly for him. He calls Piper using a webcam while she was at Camp Half-Blood and wants to know if she likes her new school (having forgotten about her being a demigod and the gods themselves), which she says she does.

  • You're going to outshine me someday, Piper. They're going to remember me as Piper McLean's father, and that's the best legacy I can imagine.

Clarisse La Rue is a Greek demigod, a daughter of Ares, the Greek god of war. She was the former head counselor of Ares' Cabin, before stepping down and giving the role to Sherman Yang. She is currently attending the University of Arizona and is the girlfriend of Chris Rodriguez

Clarisse is mentioned when one camper comments on how Jason Grace's weapon is better than Clarisse's spear, Maimer. She is again mentioned when Leo reveals Festus to the camp brandishing her spear stating they should kill Festus. She takes part in a council meeting once Jason regains his memories. Chiron reveals the truth about the Roman camp. She mentions that the brutal philosophy of the Romans makes sense to her, as Ares is the god of war so his children like violence. However, she does not like the concept of Greek demigods working/cooperating with Roman demigods, as they were enemies before.

Lupa is the immortal Roman wolf goddess who trains Roman demigods in the ways of Rome. She trains the demigods at the Wolf House, then sends them to Camp Jupiter where they can join the Twelfth Legion Fulminata.

Lupa contacts Jason Grace in his dreams to warn him about Gaea inadvertently. She also calls Jason their "Saving Grace," and curls her lips in a smile as if she just made a joke. Jason, not knowing his last name at the time doesn't see the humor but later realizes it. It isn't until he learns who he is that he understands what Lupa had meant by it. Later, when Lycaon attacks Jason and his friends, he makes a reference to Lupa, saying that soon Lupa would have to think twice before attacking his pack.
