THIS IS LISTED AS A FAN PROJECT BECAUSE THIS IS A COVER OF A SONG FROM THE HUNGER GAMES

Hello!

I am wanting to do a cover of Hanging Tree, from the Hunger Games: https://youtu.be/ZKAM_Hk4eZ0?si=COotCpKs1s_cmnvs

HOWEVER, from 1:44-2:23, there is a part where it sounds like a crowd. I would love to have different voices along with mine to give the song more emotion. I am wanting to do this cover as a protest in light of recent events in the U.S. and world alike—and at the end, I will put a message along with the credits of everyone involved.

This will not be selective. Everyone who submits a recording will get in. You do not need singing experience.

However, I do have a few rules:

  1. Have good quality audio. I use an AT2020 XLR myself, so I want everything to sound consistent. I don’t expect you to have an XLR, I just expect it to not have too much background noise.

  2. List your credit name + any links in your audition.

  3. Keep the lyrics the same as the song and follow the tempo and such. You can sing in any octave, just be sure to keep tempo!

If you don’t follow the rules, you will not be picked. That is the only reason you’d not get in!

    Thank you SO SO SO much for all of the LOVELY auditions you folks sent. I truly thought this project would flop, but it did not. I have 9 people and then myself in the cover, which is a good solid amount of 10 people.

    I need to do some finalizing with the sound editing, and then I'll be able to post the cover! I will send one more final update after this with the link to the cover.

  • First Update — Deadline Extension + General PSA

    Hi everyone,

    It says the deadline has passed—it has not. I’m still accepting people.

    However, as I will be busy, I believe I will be extending the deadline to March 4th. I have a midterm coming up for college algebra and need to lock in!

    Thank you to those that GENUINELY auditioned so far! I am a bit disappointed and frustrated with those who submitted troll auditions.

    Thankfully it was only two people.

    Those who did aren’t even bad singers, but they used their talents to be immature and that’s just unfortunate. Why they did so? I’m unsure. Perhaps it’s pure immaturity or there’s something deeper there, I dunno.

    I won’t say too much on that, because I don’t want to give them the attention they so desperately crave..

    While I won’t call anyone out by name, you know who you are, and I am blacklisting you from future projects I host.

    I will leave it at that.

    It sounds really awesome with everyone in it so far, and I am grateful that people took time out of their days to share their voices for a good message. Your names will be listed either as your CCC or your credit name if you provided one (if you didn’t it’d just be your CCC username). It will be in alphabetical order and will be on screen the same time as the message I am putting at the end.
