Green yuri manga??? in MY casting call club???
Hi there!! Welcome to my Casting Call for the English manga Fandub of "The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't A Guy At All!" (TGSWIIWAGAA, for short. except it's not very short, is it?)
What is this project?
Simple! This is a standard long term voice acting project for the manga very commonly known as the "green yuri manga", in this project I plan to dub the manga with some sparkly editing and some good voice actors! This project will go for as long as I can run it. (hopefully, finishing the manga, we can dream!)
Aya Oosawa has developed a crush towards the clerk of the CD shop she frequents. Unbeknownst to her, the store clerk is her classmate Mitsuki Koga. The manga follows the budding relationship between Aya and Mitsuki and their shared love for music as they experience daily high school life.
What can I expect from this?
Good question! In my projects I always strive for professionalism, sailing a tight ship with specific deadlines in a neat working environment, making sure everything i put out is as good quality as it can be. Of course, always making sure to care for the health and status of anyone I have working on a project.
You will be expected to communicate thoroughly as I will make sure to as well, keeping up to date about deadlines, schedules and any unexpected mishaps. A project can only go smoothly when everyone works together, one missing wheel can crash the whole car.
(This Casting Call is a remake of one that I put out a few months ago that I was not able to follow through with due to health conditions.)
To the people who have read TGSWIIWAGAA before, you may notice Kanna is not listed here, that is because I will be casting her character privately.
So you want to audition, what are the rules?
Here are the rules!:
Be at least 16 years of age.
You must leave your discord in your audition description, that is where the project will be worked on!
You MUST do at least 2 takes per line, and please try to diversify your takes. Not following this will result in me immediately dismissing your audition.
Record in AABBCC format, otherwise editing can get super complicated and time-consuming.
Most importantly, you gotta have good music taste! This is a music manga after all!!

Aya Osawa is one of the two main protagonists of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All, alongside Mitsuki Koga.
Aya is popular among her peers. She is good at blending in, at one point comparing herself to a “chameleon”. Many boys at school take interest to her, but she does not reciprocate interest. However, upon meeting Mitsuki, she is quite easily flustered. She is often referred to as an extrovert.

[Overly flustered, shouting or nervously high] "T-The album... Thank you very much for lending it to me!!! A-And I'd really like to hear what you thought about it, and stuff... So, um... Could I get your number?!"
[Mumbling to herself & Over the top angry] "Ear-rings, check. Bangs, check. Looks fine, but... I'm not putting too much effort into this... am I? AARGH!! I just don't know!! At this rate I'm going to be late!!"

Mitsuki Koga is one of the two main protagonists of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All, alongside Aya Osawa.
Mitsuki is a reserved and short-spoken girl, being the introverted type. She often finds herself spacing out and can be a bit of an airhead. Due to her absent-mindedness, she may unintentionally make flirtatious comments, Aya usually being the victim of it.
Voice Range: I would like a really androgynous voice for Mitsuki, but I am open to different interperations!

[Mentally exhausted] "Being by myself like this... And listening to music full blast is enough. Trying to create an opening just so I can share it with others is not in my character. It's alright... If I hear nothing, I feel nothing... Nothing."
[Out of breath, bordering on a love confession] "I... have a part time job at the CD Shop. My name's... Koga Mitsuki. I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you... Please... Will you... be my friend?"

Joe is a main character of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All.
Joe is an airheaded older man and the uncle of Koga Mitsuki and though he might not show it, deeply cares for his niece, yet ever confused by her weird antics. He tends to be aloof, but always seems to know what to say in the right moments.
Voice Range: Joe should have a more gruffy tone to his voice, with a demeanor that really shouts "I'm a hard rock man!"

Megumu Narita, better known by his last name Narita, is a main character of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All.
Narita will typically play the role of wingman for Aya or Koga, supporting the two and secretly trying to get them into a relationship, though he doesn't come without his flaws, he's a very eccentric character and comes off a little creepy sometimes, despite people thinking he'd be quite popular with the ladies.
Voice Range: Fruity.

[Overly happy, somewhat creepy] "I'm in tip-top shape though?! It's nice and warm, so!"

Chizuru is a secondary character of The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All.
Chizuru has been a close friend of Aya's for a while, alongisde Mao. She tends to act like a normal high school girl in her small clique of friends, yet seems to hide some resentment deep down.
Voice Range: I would prefer a typical nazaly higher voice for this character.

[Jealous, annoyed] "I don't know, the vibe just sucks these days. She seems to have more fun with Koga-san. They'd barely even talked before and yet they become all chummy that fast?"
[Cumbersome] "Now that she found a friend who shares her "interests", I guess she doesn't need us anymore, huh?"

Mao has been a close friend of Aya's for a while, alongisde Chizuru. She tends to act like a normal high school girl in her small clique of friends.
Voice Range: Any generic "basic white girl" voice will suit this character.
(Very sorry for the lack of interesting lines, Mao is a HEAVY side character)
