An animated short film about stories, monsters, and hatred.
To fully understand this story you must understand The Grossfarken. The Grossfarken is a monster reviled by the Townsfolk (the people of the town The Boy and The Mother live). There are a plethora of stories in the town about how The Grossfarken steals and terrorizes the Townsfolk's children. To make matters worse, the Grossfarken plays a harp every day, which sends a song down the creek to echo through the town, posing an eerie mark of the Grossfarken's presence. Essentially, the Townsfolk hate the Grossfarken.
However, one day a boy ventures into the Grossfarken's creek. While I won't spoil the story for everyone here, and at the risk of sounding like clickbait, what he finds next will shock you!
LOGLINE:
Despite stories of a monster upstream, a young village boy ventures into the creek and discovers the truth behind his town's lore.
REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to do multiple takes. Each character only has around 30-40 words in total so the ability to mix and match takes will be useful.
Good quality microphone with minimal background noise
I would like you to put your own unique spin on the script when you get selected. I think it is really important for you to put your mark on these roles. They are my characters but it is YOUR performance, and you are cool and have good judgement, let the YOU shine!
NOTES:
Final product may take a while. I am the sole animator and sound designer so it may be months before the work is released.
This will be 3D animated with 2D elements as well (namely the opening exposition will be 2D)
Depending on how I like my take of it, there may be a Narrator role coming in the future. TBD

Recording will most likely not start until a few days after you are selected because I will be making the storyboard and demo for the cast. Hey Y'all! I am loving everyone's submissions so far and can't wait to see more! I am going to extend the deadline for a little more than a week, I need just a little more time to create all of the models in Blender.

Fun Background:
The main driver of the story and the bridge between the Townsfolk and The Grossfarken. His name is Micah, but that is unimportant. He is around 4-5 years old. He embodies childlike curiosity and innocence, hopefully no one wants to tear that from him.
Voice Details:
He is very young. Because of this, he cannot say things with the correct annunciation. He may be unable to say his Rs or Ls because he just hasn't been speaking that long, but not too extreme. Overall, there is not much to be specific about here as long as he sounds like an innocent boy.

Fun Background:
The Mother to The Boy. Extremely overprotective. A woman around her 50s. She embodies stubbornness, being stuck in your ways, and "my way or the highway." If something steps out of line or the way she planned it, she is furious. The type of lady to get disappointed in you if you misspell a word.
Voice Details:
A deeper voice. Strong and powerful. Spoken like a woman who may have disliked her life the whole time. She is very serious. I wish I had a voice reference but I cannot think of one. The best I can muster is a less raspy version of Jasper from Steven Universe.

(Shocked and Angry) WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! I HEARD A SCREECH, DID IT HURT YOU?!
