The Frosty Witchcraft School (Minecraft Animation Series)
Project Overview
In a world where mobs are sapient, live in towns and have jobs, monsters have overcome their instincts to hunt humans… well, for the most part. Okay, maybe they just haven’t really been exposed to them yet. But I’m sure everything will go alright when Tom enrols as the first human ever at the monster-dominated Frosty Witchcraft School to learn some magic!
Please do not audition if you do not respect any and all human rights. This series discusses topics that may be offensive or discomforting to some people. These are: Death, torture, PTSD, nihilism, analogies to people “eating” light, and mocking analogies to religion.
This is a long-term project that will run for approximately two years. Voice actors will be required to attend to group live dubbing.

FOREWORD
This is a slice-of-life-story, which means that throughout seven chapters, each main character has their own problems to solve and stories to tell, and those mostly just focus on them as a person. Additionally, there are many little mysteries and Minecraft insiders for the viewers to discover.
This project has been through a lot. It started out as a parody to Willcraft’s Monster School videos back in 2012, but never went anywhere—thankfully, I was only 12 and the story would’ve been really cringey! But I kept thinking about it, adding new ideas and abandoning others. In 2018, I decided to pick it up again even though I was still in high school. It was a whole mess… My bipolar disorder was still undiagnosed and untreated, so the days where I was super close to deleting the whole project altogether and the ones where I was convinced the series would turn out the best and change the world were not few and not far in-between. My vision of the series was still evolving, too—I rewrote the script three times from scratch, and let the voice actors record lines that I later completely changed once. I made many mistakes and wasted a lot of people’s time, including my own.
But I never stopped working on this project, and believing in it. As a result, it has improved so much that even in my worst days I can look at it and still be proud. I want this series to happen, and I’m fully determined to do whatever it takes to finish it!
Care to help me achieve that goal?

WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR
Script
Okay, so this is where it gets a little complicated, but hear me out: We have the old script that contains a lot of the dialogue for the German version (because I wrote that first), but then I decided that I needed to plan out every episode by second so they would all be the same length, so I wrote another script—this time containing only rough dialogue—but then I decided that I wanted to do live dubbing, because I had previously recorded all the lines myself to give a template for how I want them to be, but then I thought it would be so much better (and save a lot of time!) if the voice actors just actually TALKED with each other instead, and so I started writing SCENES for just the dialogue (and with pictures to set the scene!), but now I didn’t have anything the voice actors could go off on for what actually happens to their characters, so I also started writing STORIES for a rough outline of the characters’ arcs. Still with me? Good, because now the plot thickens: I have everything inside my head and scattered in notes and even more worldbuilding documents all over the place, but I’ve never actually written comprehensive character descriptions or got to update all the dialogue, so… For now, I’m “writing as I go”, but be assured that it’s gonna work out fine! I’ve tried and magnificently failed to produce my series while it’s still in planning before, back in 2019… Yeah, that was fun. Not doing that again, don’t worry! :')
TL;DR: I have a lot of documents; everything is noted down somewhere, even if not in its proper place.
World
Now, this is our problem child… Springtown is way too big and too close to the main scene so you can actually see it in the distance to only have been built, like, ~45%… so that’s slightly concerning. Same story with Scraper City—only that it’s more like 10% built. Then there’s the other, less important towns that are only featured in later episodes like Little City, which is 45% done, and Magma Falls, Blocksten, the Adventure World… which are all 0%. However, despite our need, it’s hard to employ more builders because of lore complications, so… yeah.
Skins/Textures
Well, I got a little lazy… We mostly need facial expressions, which are fast to make, and the main font needs a little reworking, which I probably could’ve done already. But I didn’t… yet. 😬
Voice Actors
We already have some voice actors and actresses who stuck with the project since the beginning, but we’ve also had others leave. It is not yet 100% clear who will be voicing who, so I’ve provided a list of ALL the characters so you can get to know them, and have closed those who have someone assigned to them for now. I will not make final casting decisions before the deadline though!

The protagonist Muzio loves to play a text-based adventure game similar to World of Warcraft on his console. The gameplay however will be visualised in an actual 3D Minecraft world, which is visited in episode 24 when Muzio and Rebje do a let’s play for the viewers.
We are looking for someone who can build a big and empty, but pretty, fantasy/mediaeval-like environment. We need a hub where you spawn, a mystical path through the woods, the first town, a winding cave for the first mission, and more. The details still need to be planned out.
The builder of the Adventure World earns 1% of the total revenue for this job.

I’m not planning on having additional animators, but I really need them in theory since it’s a lot of work for a single person… So if you’re either super experienced and can help refine my work, or are a total noob and wanna do the very basics of the animations, or help me out with mimics because I’m bad at that, link me some animations you’ve done and we can talk.
The share will be negotiated for this one, as it depends on how much you actually contribute. 20% of the total revenue is reserved for animation.

If you’re auditioning for a voice acting role and you’re not a native English speaker, please submit a recording of this text too. Don’t worry about it, we’re not too strict on accent—we just need to make sure viewers can understand you!
Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.
Shumbleff is the teacher and headmaster of the students at the Frosty Witchcraft School, although it is his first time teaching (and he is not very competent). He is a big fan of mythology, and an even bigger fan of humans, which causes Tom a lot of embarrassment. He also keeps resorting to slightly shady means when he thinks nobody would notice.
His voice is in the higher range and sort of goofy, but he can also be very serious, so nothing too ridiculous, please.
The voice actor of Shumbleff earns 2% of the total revenue for this job.

[reading out the house rules] …And you of course cannot attack another student, neither inside nor outside of the school. This applies to everybody, no matter if you’re a monster, player, or animal.—Alright, everyone agreeing? If not, please leave the building now.
[stressed as zombie is attacking Tom] Oh no… Umm, Tom, I’ll have to read up on what to do when a student attacks another. Will you manage?
[preparing to absolutely not supervise the class] Anyway, when you’re done, show me the result. Your brewing stands already have bottles, you can find everything you need in the storage room, and water is in the greenbasement.—Anything else… Oh, and if you need help, ask your classmates. Alright, I wish you great success!
Chris and Colin are twins. Chris is generally more serious, responsible and calm, while his younger brother tends to be more cheeky, playful and energetic. They’re both very smart, but they’re more here for the experience than to study. Most importantly though, they’re from Little City, literally the best and coolest town in the whole world!
They’re the youngest in the class, both in body and mind, so give me some fresh voices!
The voice actor of Chris and Colin earns 4% of the total revenue for this job.

[teasing each other] Alright, guys, what do we wanna brew?—We need to get bottles and water first.—Yeah, but I wanna know what we’re brewing.—Potion of invisibility!—I was thinking more of speed…—Then why are you asking.—To clarify that I want a potion of speed.—Well, you’re not getting one.—Why?—Because you asked.—That’s no fair!—Life isn’t fair.
[teasing each other some more] One team will have an extra member, that can be your team.—What’d you mean?—You’re gonna lose anyway, so you need every advantage you can, ’s what I mean.—We’re playing in different teams??—’Course!—Nooo!!!—Where’s the fun in playing on the same side?!—[stares at him in disbelief] Oh, I’m gonna give you Nether!!
[being a lawyer for his brother] And that was not a missed shot! That was from, like, three blocks away!
Rebje is someone who does not give a damn about how things are properly done, or about mincing her words. She doesn’t mean to be rude, though; it’s just who she is as a person. She says she stems from a prestigious wizard family in Scraper City, but something seems off about that story…
Being a small cave spider, her voice should be rather high-pitched, but it shouldn’t sound cute.
The voice actor of Rebje earns 2% of the total revenue for this job.

[dryly] You touch me and I’ll poison you.
[outspoken] Why try to do it in some magical way if you can just jump?—I’m just saying. I thought we’re learning stuff that not everybody can do.
[confused, but doesn’t admit it] Uh, what’s got rain to do with that?—[…]—[surprised] What?—[other student] Did you not know that?—I did.
Cellaci is a very shy girl. Being raised in a small nomadic tribe, she never really got to talk to people outside of her family, which may explain why. She is also quite anxious, especially about things she can’t do well (which is, like, everything). Luckily, Melinda is there to immediately adopt her as a friend!
A soft, nice voice. Remember to stutter at literally every opportunity. (I’m kidding, don’t overdue it.)
The voice actor of Cellaci earns 2% of the total revenue for this job.

Ahm, ah, well… I’m… I mean, yeah, umm… I’m… called a… stray.
[woefully to herself about a difficult challenge] But no pressure…
[Skluuf approaches her] Oh, hey. Are you practising archery?—[Cellaci is startled] Aah- H-Hi… Umm, y-yeah…—Cool, I was just about to do the same. Do you wanna have a little contest?—[Cellaci panics] Ahm… n-no, let’s not… I’m happy to leave the bow to you-
Ah yes, the famous character who I wrote to be chill and then he ended up being absolutely everything but chill! More seriously though, Skluuf is a writer, a dreamer, and a passionate hater of mobs who listen to their instincts, because… reasons. He’s from nice, flowery Springtown and a member of a very old family of only male skeletons.
I still cannot decide on his voice… but average. It’s really just average.

[sullen] It probably wouldn’t have killed Chris to control himself better. Actually, at worst, it would’ve saved his life.
[angry and frustrated] Because- look. I’d love to beat you up, right here, right now, with my bare fists, even!—But just because my instincts tell me that, doesn’t mean I should *act* upon them. Or what do you think!?
[sheepishly] You said that you always carry a stack of wood and iron around, right?—Can I, umm… have some?
Hushira is a lighthearted soul who wishes for nothing but peace and harmony. However, sometimes she’s borderline toxically positive. She’s from some small ville in the distant sunflower plains nobody has ever heard of, and admires Cellaci’s “adventurous” way of living.
Her voice is… I dunno… average.
The voice actor of Hushira earns 2% of the total revenue for this job.

[empathetically] Is something wrong?—Is it because you invited Tom to the game? You couldn’t have known what he would do! It’s not your fault that happened…
[chosen herself as mediator] Hey. I wanted to apologise to you for all of us… We do believe you that it was just an accident.
[slightly desperate] I know everything *now*, but when I take the test I won’t remember *anything*… I already know it!!
Melinda is the extrovert of the class: Very peppy, very talkative, always looking on the bright side—and can be extremely snappy when someone like Tom walks in and pretends he only wants good. She also lives with her big family in a castle on the literal edge of the world, so that’s fancy I imagine.
Her voice has to be unique—she must stand out from the crowd!

[questioning the point of school on the 2nd day] They can just as well look it up in some book. And if it’s urgent, I mean, when is it urgent? When they’re injured, right? Then I just throw a damage potion onto them, that’s so much quicker anyway!
[after losing the race] What am I gonna tell my sister—that I was slower at brewing than someone else?!? She’d *laugh* at me, hard!!
On one condition.—We don’t want to see your ugly face outside of class anymore.
Gratina is the mysterious stranger that always hides in the corner and never talks. Who knows what’s up with her…

[Shumbleff encourages her to introduce herself] And where are you from?—[hesitant] …The Nether.—Oh, you’re from a whole other dimension! Fascinating! What brought you to the overworld?—[thinking] …Curiosity.
[Murmurs] Hey… Umm… So, how do bandit gangs communicate with each other? I don’t suppose they’re writing letters, right?
[forcibly, almost threateningly] Who… Is it?—[Cellaci is slightly frightened] H-Huh!?—Who sent you to ask me this?!
My favourite! J̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶k̶i̶d̶d̶i̶n̶g̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶’̶r̶e̶ ̶̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶f̶a̶v̶o̶u̶r̶i̶t̶e̶. Muzio is someone who just nods in silence most of the time, but fear when he’s passionate about something, for he will talk your ears off! He’s a nerd for video (well, text) games and wants to develop one himself one day. He has the convenience of being able to teleport home to Scraper City every day instead of living at the boarding school, lucky him.
His voice should be something deep and nice, I’m sure, but don’t ask me details.

[is asked why he always goes home right away after class] Uh… Actually… I’m not in a hurry at all, but—umm. I just don’t quite know what else to do here?
Okay, okay, so, let’s start with the alignments. There are three main factions: Monster, Illager, and Neutral. It doesn’t really matter which one you pick, but each have their own unique range of mobs you can choose from. Other than that, they’re mostly for storytelling. But yeah, if you for example pick Neutral, you can only play as a player, iron golem, enderman or zombie pigman, and if you pick Monster, you can either be a zombie, skeleton, spider, or creeper. Oh! Also, each mob has their own unique abilities, like for example, zombies get a 10% damage resistance bonus, but also a 50% intelligence penalty. You should look into that before you choose and match it with your style of play, otherwise it could get frustrating. What’s your style of play, anyway?—Oh, nevermind, you’re not gonna have one yet, do you? That’s fine, we can figure it out as we go. Anyway, what was I saying?—Oh, and you also have classes that further enhance your abilities, but they’re also restricted to what mob you are, so yeah. But maybe we should start from the beginning; let me introduce you to the system, and everything should be much more clear afterwards: [He literally goes on and on and on.]
May I introduce: The man, the legend, the idiot who is constantly harassed by monsters who could literally kill him and still doesn’t change schools! Probably too patient and indulgent for his own good. He is home to some far-away plains village surrounded by forest where the local idiot told him that he has a special bond with monsters or whatever, so that’s a motive, I guess.
Voice… Darn it, can you just stop asking- human. Give him the human voice!

I- I can’t use the bed. Even though I’m trying! But there can’t be a monster within, like, eight blocks? But once I’m in bed it’s fine, you can come- back then… [spoken to monster leaves the room]
[zombie approaches, he is startled] Ah! …Oh, sorry, I thought- AH! [startled a second time, but stronger as said zombie actually attacks him]
[angry and frustrated] Chris almost exploded. Because he was in my team and I accidentally threw at him. ON ACCIDENT! I didn’t mean to, I was startled and my hand slipped! But guess what? No one cares. I’m the one at fault, Chris didn’t do nothing wrong, I am to blame for it all. They say.
So, remember how I said that the monsters in this world were civilised and intelligent and stuff? Well, I forgot about Boudey… He is basically a wild zombie, even though he was supposedly raised by civil mobs. Or maybe he just really, really hates Tom.
Range is lower-mid, may sound a little silly, may not be just zombie groans. He’s a dapper undead, alright!

[quietly to himself] Yeah, that’s smart.
[slowly, humble] I’m… sorry.
I’d bet anything she was kidnapped by the illagers…
Well, Drake is a character that only really becomes relevant at, like, the end of chapter III… but he really is important, trust me. Why? No, no, that would be telling… Sorry!

That’s… nonsensical. You can extend any effect by just adding the time in ticks. Like, for an example—/effect @e[name=Drake] resistance 1000000 gives me 41 days of resistance.
This is Melinda’s beloved sister, Grisette! She wasn’t a big fan of her idea to enrol at a school several thousand blocks away from home, but she comes around to visit her at the weekends. They’re your stereotypical sisters, always talking about something to no end…

[Melinda teased her about the time she lost her horse in a river, so she strikes back] Oh, ha ha, yeah, really funny. But you’re really one to talk! May I remind you of the way you reacted when you couldn’t find Medi one day?!—You were crying so much ’cause you thought she was gone, and then you found her on a chest in the storeroom! *laughs*
Alex is Tom’s best friend and lives in the same village as him. She’s not very fond of monsters, or the idea that Tom should surround himself with them, but respects his decisions anyway. She is more of a monster hunter herself, though.
You know how Alex often sounds in other Minecraft videos? I think we can just go ahead and adopt this.

We have three side characters that are important to at least one of the protagonists, but they only appear from chapter V onwards.
