The confident patrol leader of the scouts. Brave, responsible, and desperate to prove herself.
What I'm Looking For: a natural leader voice, confident but still young-adult sounding.

- all american accents
"We all need to stay calm. Remember our scout training. Stay together. Help will come. The others will come back."
Panicked: "Come on, Hill-- talk to me. What’s going on?”
Confident: "As scouts, we’re supposed to be brave, right? So what if the weather’s bad? It’s our last night. We deserve this. You know, my mom was a girl scout too, and she always said the best memories were made on the last night, on that final hike. Where you could go to the top of the mountain and see the valley for miles, and see the stars from the peak... I’m not leaving without that.”
The awkward, glasses-wearing nerd of the troop and daughter of the camp counselor. She's the voice of reason among her friends. Note: Watts might be awkward but she isn't shy.
What I'm Looking For: A smart voice with a touch of awkwardness. Should sound relatable and friendly.

De-escalating: “Easy, Matoya... It’s not her fault.”
Encouraging: “I really don’t think it’s that bad. Especially if you’re there. We’d be right behind you. It’s not even raining right now.”
Dismissive: “Don’t be ridiculous. You really believe that dumb story she told?”
The tough, athletic girl of the troop. She's brave and quick to anger, but the others count on her.
What I'm Looking For: A confident voice with a medium-deep tone. Should sound fearless, while still sounding like a teenager.

- female young adult
“Not another one from you, Watts. It’s always the same thing. Some dumb random ghost story.”
“You can stay behind me too, if you’re that much of a wuss.”
“You should be thanking me! I just saved you!”
The nervous wreck in the troop who is afraid of just about everything. When she’s bitten in the cave, her personality warps into something far more dangerous.
What I'm Looking For: A nervous and expressive voice. Should be able to convey fear/anxiety convincingly.

“I don’t know… this seems dangerous.”
“What was up with the fog? Why wasn’t there any up there?”
Say eerily: "“You’re next."
The superstitious one of the group. She's the first to turn on the group when things go wrong.
What I'm Looking For: A strong-willed voice with the ability to show intensity. I need someone who can sound more obsessive as the story progresses.

Accusatory: “This one said she got bit. I bet it’s hers.”
“This is your fault! I bet that was your jacket down there. You led us to that cave! Why did you do it?”
“What the hell are you doing, Hill?!”
The quiet outsider desperate to be accepted by the other girls. Her creepy vampire story accidentally sparks the paranoia that spreads throughout the group.
What I'm Looking For: A soft-spoken, sweet, and vulnerable voice. I need someone who can convey loneliness, shyness, and a desire to belong.
- female teen
- female young adult
- general american
“The fog started rolling in, thick, and they lost their way, so one of the girls thought it would be a good idea to stop in a cave. They went inside and started telling stories. Just like we are now. But you see… in caves, you’re never really alone.”
“Y-you’re a vampire, aren’t you?”
Nervous: “Come on, Matoya, quit joking. You think I’m a vampire or something?”
A troublemaker and Matoya’s sidekick. She’s always ready to pile on when someone else becomes the target.
What I'm Looking For: A bit of a villainous voice with good comedic timing. Should be able to switch between teasing humor and paranoia.
- female teen
- general american
- female young adult
“Knew she was a freak."
“This hike was your idea! Some leader you are. You just had to prove something, didn’t you? Stop trying to be like your mom. It’s pathetic.
“Hill? When did you get here? Are you gonna tell on us?”
The troop's camp counselor and Watts' mother. She takes her responsibility for the girls seriously and can be over-protective.
What I'm Looking For: Need an authoritative and adult-sounding voice. Someone who sounds maternal and in charge. Stern-sounding.
- general american
- female adult
“Sarah, I don’t understand what you don’t get. I said no. It’s not safe.”
“Listen to me. I can’t afford to let anything happen to you girls. So go back to the group, finish up, and get some sleep. We’ve got a long bus ride tomorrow.”
“You know how to lead others. Just like your mother. I see all her qualities in you. She would have been proud of you."
Need an additional girl scout voice to fill in the troop. Emotions can include paranoia and intense fear. Also want someone who can do a great eerie voice.
Paranoid: "Look... this uniform. It's one of ours. It has our troop patch on it."
Terrified: "Let's get out of here!"
Eerily: "I can hear you breathing. I can hear your thoughts too."
