Genre: Superhero, Action, Psychological Thriller
Format: 10-Episode Limited Series (Screenplay Format)
Premise
The Ghost of Flashpoint is a psychological and action-driven superhero miniseries set in the world of The Flash. The story explores the lingering consequences of Barry Allen’s time-altering actions in Flashpoint, focusing on how remnants of the erased timeline begin bleeding into reality. This forces Barry to confront the mistakes of his past while battling a mysterious force that threatens to unravel time itself.
The series introduces Edward Clariss also known as The Rival as the primary antagonist, a speedster with red lightning who should no longer exist. His return signals something deeply wrong with the fabric of time, pushing Barry and his team to uncover a terrifying truth: Flashpoint may not be as erased as they believed.
Plot Summary
After a routine patrol in Central City, Barry Allen encounters a speedster with red lightning Edward Clariss, a man who lost his powers when Flashpoint was undone. But Clariss isn’t just back; he’s unstable, flickering in and out of existence, as if reality itself is rejecting him. When Barry barely survives their first fight, he turns to Team Flash for answers.
With the help of Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, and Harrison HarryWells from Earth-2, Barry learns that Flashpoint’s remnants are seeping through time, pulling figures from the erased timeline back into existence. However, these ghosts aren’t just returning they’re evolving. Clariss, consumed by rage, believes Barry stole his life and is determined to take revenge by erasing him from history.
As the anomalies escalate, Barry begins experiencing visions, flashes of alternate realities, distorted memories, and cryptic warnings from an unknown source. Soon, it becomes clear that Clariss isn’t acting alone. Something much more powerful is at work, manipulating time itself.
The deeper Barry digs, the more he realizes that this isn’t just about Flashpoint; it’s about him. His very existence may be the anomaly that’s breaking time, and unless he can find a way to stabilize reality, Central City and everyone he loves could be erased for good.
Core Themes
1. The Consequences of Time Travel
Barry’s decision to create Flashpoint was personal, but the fallout has global consequences. The series explores the idea that erased timelines don’t just disappear, they leave scars. Every change Barry made, every life he affected, still echoes across reality.
2. Psychological Horror & Identity Crisis
Barry is forced to confront who he really is outside of being the Flash. Is he a hero if his actions have created monsters? The concept of ghosts in this series isn’t just literal it’s metaphorical. Barry is haunted by the people he’s erased, the mistakes he’s made, and the realization that he might never truly fix what he broke.
3. The Nature of Speedsters & the Speed Force
The series expands on speedster mythology, introducing the idea that speedsters exist outside of time in a way others don’t. This is why Clariss is able to return

Description:
Barry Allen, also known as The Flash, is a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department who gains super-speed after being struck by lightning during a dark matter explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs. He becomes the protector of Central City, using his speed to fight crime and stop metahuman threats. His signature costume is a red suit with gold lightning bolt accents, evolving over the series.
Characteristics:
1. Super Speed • Barry can move at incredible velocities, phase through objects, time travel, and heal rapidly. His speed is powered by the Speed Force.
2. Intelligence • As a forensic scientist, Barry is highly analytical and skilled in crime scene investigations.
3. Determined and Heroic • Despite immense challenges, Barry remains committed to saving lives and protecting his loved ones.
4. Compassionate and Emotional • He deeply cares for his family and friends, often struggling with the weight of his responsibilities.
5. Optimistic and Hopeful • Even in dark times, Barry tries to see the good in people and inspires hope in others.
6. Team Leader • He leads Team Flash, working alongside allies like Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, Iris West, and others.
7. Time Traveler • Throughout the series, Barry’s ability to time travel plays a major role, leading to consequences such as Flashpoint.
8. Evolving Powers • Over time, he learns new speed-based abilities, like creating lightning projectiles, entering the Speed Force, and manipulating time.
After Flashpoint, Barry Allen undergoes significant emotional and psychological changes. Here’s a breakdown of his emotions and personality shifts following this event:
1. Guilt & Regret
Barry’s defining emotion after Flashpoint is guilt. He initially created Flashpoint out of grief for his mother, enjoying a brief period of happiness. However, once he realizes the severe consequences, Wally being the Flash, Joe and Iris being estranged, and Cisco’s brother being dead, he is forced to undo his actions. Even after restoring the timeline, things don’t return to normal (e.g., Caitlin develops Killer Frost powers, Julian is now part of his life, and Diggle’s daughter is erased from existence).
Barry constantly blames himself for these changes, carrying a deep sense of regret. This guilt makes him hesitant at times, afraid that every choice he makes will have unintended consequences.
2. Responsibility & Burden
Barry realizes that his powers don’t just affect him, they affect everyone around him. The emotional weight of Flashpoint forces him to mature, and he begins to understand that he cannot use time travel selfishly. This leads to a more cautious and burdened Barry, as he feels responsible for fixing the damage he caused.
3. Self-Doubt & Struggles with Leadership
Before Flashpoint, Barry was more hopeful and optimistic, but afterward, he becomes more hesitant. He second-guesses himself and sometimes pushes his team away, believing that their suffering is his fault. His relationships, especially with Cisco, are strained because of the timeline changes. It takes time for him to regain the trust of his friends and rebuild his confidence as a leader.
4. Growth & Acceptance
Over time, Barry accepts his mistakes and focuses on moving forward instead of dwelling on the past. While Flashpoint leaves scars, he learns to trust his team more, recognizing that he doesn’t have to carry the burden alone. His experiences after Flashpoint make him a more responsible hero, reinforcing that he must be careful when wielding the power of time.

(Uneasy, realization dawning, with a hint of fear creeping in) “And he wasn’t just fast… (slight pause, breath catching) he was familiar.”
(slow realization) It doesn’t just disappear. It… lingers.
(Disturbed, uneasy, trying to process what he saw) “It was like he was glitching. Flickering in and out… (slight pause, breath catching) like reality itself was struggling to hold him here.”
1. Genius-Level Intelligence: Cisco is a master engineer and hacker, constantly inventing new technology, including Barry’s suits and weapons like the cold gun.
2. Comic Relief & Pop Culture King: Cisco is the teams funny guy, often lightening tense situations with jokes, nerdy references (Star Wars, Game of Thrones, etc.), and over-the-top reactions.
3. Empathetic & Loyal: Despite his humor, Cisco is deeply compassionate and values his friendships. He struggles with loss, especially after his brother Dante’s death, and is fiercely loyal to his team.
4. Heroic Despite Doubts: Initially, Cisco is hesitant about being a hero, but over time, he embraces his Vibe abilities and learns to fight alongside Team Flash.
5. Tech Innovator: He creates some of the most advanced weapons and gadgets in the Arrowverse, including The Flash’s suits, meta-human dampeners, and breach portals.
6. Emotional Depth: While he appears lighthearted, Cisco has deep emotional layers, especially in conflicts about morality (like when he resents Barry after Flashpoint). He sometimes struggles with self-worth but ultimately proves to be a key figure in saving the world multiple times.
7. Evolution & Growth: Over time, Cisco matures, stepping up as a leader when necessary. Though he later gives up his powers, he remains an essential part of Team Flash’s intellectual backbone.

(Sad and Angry) After everything you still act as if we’re just pets and use us! We’re your friends and family Barry we’re meant to help you!
1. Brilliant & Analytical: A genius scientist with expertise in engineering, physics, and technology. His intelligence rivals that of Eobard Thawne’s disguised Wells.

7. Inventive & Resourceful: Always creating new tech, including modifying Gideon, helping develop Velocity formulas, and designing traps for speedsters.
8. Socially Awkward: Unlike some of the other Wells variants, Harry isn’t charismatic. He often misreads social cues and prefers to focus on work.
Vocal Characteristics: Voice: Deep, rough, and often clipped when speaking. He speaks with purpose and a slight growl when annoyed.

You tell me, Allen. You’ve rewritten time before. What happens when you break something that wasn’t meant to be fixed?
If Clariss was erased when you fixed Flashpoint, his existence should have been wiped from the timeline. Should have been.
No, it’s worse. If Clariss is back, it means Flashpoint is still bleeding through. And if he slipped through…
1. Wise & Experienced: As a veteran detective, Joe is highly observant, intuitive, and level-headed. He often serves as the voice of reason, offering advice to Barry and Team Flash when emotions run high.
He trusts his instincts, but also listens to those around him.2. Protective & Loving Father: Joe raised Barry after his mother was murdered and his father was wrongfully imprisoned. He treats Barry as his own son. He is deeply protective of his children (Iris and Wally) and struggles with the fear of losing them. Even when he’s tough on them, it always comes from love and concern.
3. Charismatic & Warm: Joe has a naturally charming and easygoing personality. He often uses humor and sarcasm to lighten the mood, even in serious situations. His deep, warm voice and reassuring presence make him a natural leader.
4. Emotionally Strong & Supportive: He provides emotional stability for Barry, Iris, and even Team Flash.
He often gives motivational speeches, helping Barry find the strength to push forward. Though strong, he’s not afraid to show emotion, especially when it comes to his family.
5. Morally Driven & Just: As a detective, Joe has a strong sense of justice and always fights for what’s right. He initially struggles with trusting metahumans but grows to accept that being a hero is about character, not powers. He’s willing to bend the rules when necessary but never compromises his integrity.

(Warm) Look, Barry. I think everyone understands why you created Flashpoint. It was to see your parents alive again. There is nothing wrong with that.

3. Courageous & Fearless: Despite not having superpowers, she faces danger head-on. Whether it’s standing up to villains or leading Team Flash, she never shies away from a challenge. She has moments where she puts herself in harm’s way to help others, proving she’s just as brave as any speedster.
4. Intelligent & Resourceful: As an investigative journalist, Iris is curious and sharp, always looking for the truth. She pieces together information quickly and uses her knowledge to help Team Flash.
5. Loving & Protective: She is fiercely protective of her family and friends, especially Barry and Team Flash. As Barry’s wife, she is his emotional anchor, reminding him of who he is when he doubts himself.

(Skeptical) This Clarris guy clearly is butt hurt about what happened in Flashpoint. Why don’t you just tell him about Flashpoint fully.
(Determined) Barry. I’m at Central City Time Square and Clarris is here. He’s shooting lightning everywhere!

(In a mentor way) "Being a hero isn't about how fast you can run, Barry. It's about what you do when you get there."
(Warning Tone) "Thawne isn't just fast. He's smart. He knows how to break you before the fight even begins."
(Encouragement) "Pain’s part of the job, kid. What matters is if you can still run after."
