The Flash (Minecraft Cinematic Roleplay)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hello, everyone! This casting call is for Season 1 of The Flash (Minecraft Roleplay). From an ex-producer of The Ace Network, that brought you "From Me, To You", and "JUSTICE LEAGUE", PARIN Studios is producing its debut minecraft roleplay. The roleplay goes back to the source material of The Flash, and builds from there.
We're casting for a slew of voices to be used throughout the season. Those that are cast for smaller roles will be asked to provide lines for additional, smaller roles not featured on CCC. If you're cast for a main role, we may ask you to provide lines for minor roles in the production, but only when we're in absolute dire need.
All roles are in the English language. Voice actors must be capable of speaking in a North American accent.
PARIN Studios is not yet financially stable enough to pay our voice actors/actresses, however, if the series performs well, you should expect compensation for you work.
OVERVIEW
My interpretation of the story of Barry Allen, "The Flash". Barry Allen's mother was murdered when he was just a boy, by his nemesis who goes by the name of "Reverse Flash". Reverse Flash, or Eobard Thawne, from the 25th century, grew up adoring the Flash, and what he had done. This caused him to study the flash for his entire life, until he was able to recreate the reaction that created The Flash. He then went back in time to study his Idle, and found that he would ultimately become the Flash's greatest foe, this drove him mad, he wanted to change his destiny, but he simply couldn't. In a fit of rage, he traveled back in time to kill Barry Allen's mother, in hopes of traumatizing Barry Allen.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS
The deadline for auditions is Sep 1st, 2020. There are currently no plans to extend this deadline. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by Sep 2nd (this could also be very much earlier if we see your voice fitting well) and send scripts to voice actors by Sep 3rd. We need to receive all lines back from voice actors by May Oct 1st. This is a hard deadline. If you are unable to record between Sep 3rd - Oct 1st, please do not audition.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect to be warmly greeted by Aiden R. Parin, the writer and producer that put together this roleplay. At this point, you'll be part of our PARIN family, where you'll get to interact with other voices actors from around the globe, all of whom offer a wealth of experience and knowledge.
We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we strongly, strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors. We've used Discord with other projects and it has been of immense value.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
- First and foremost, have fun -- we take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something truly phenomenal, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.
- Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to our audio geniuses :)
- Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favorite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the podcast.
- Please submit your recordings as one .wav file to our company email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we prefer to use Google Drive.
- We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
- Lastly, since we are planning on multiple seasons of The Flash, we 'd like to cast people who will be able to stick with us for a while. We're incredibly proud of the acting troupe we've formed over the years, and when starting a new project, we frequently return to voice actors we've worked with in the past.

Barry Allen is a total nerd. He is unabashedly geeky and socially awkward, although that usually just makes him more charming. Before he got his powers he was constantly running late and now he's equally frazzled by his busy double-life.

(Surprised/Slightly Scared) I- What the hell is this?

(Yelling) Get the hell back here Thawne!
He grew up happily, with his loving parents Henry and Nora Allen. But when Barry was only 11 years old, his mother was killed by a mysterious supernatural force and his father was sent to prison for her murder. Young Barry was taken in by Deputy Frye.

The arch-nemesis of the Flash. He is a twisted sociopathic criminal, with a brilliant mind and super-speed, that was born in the 25th Century and travels through time to do battle with his most hated enemy.
Mid to Low Ranged Voice; Extremely Menacing
Hello Flash, I know exactly what you're doing here, and exactly who you are.
(Younger Version/Teen Version) If you're here to give me your sympathy, I don't want it, so save it!
I didn't think it would have to come to this, but, goodbye Flash.
Cheerful, caring, and protective. Although he's a tough Deputy, he's no bottled-up macho man. In fact, he prefers to discuss feelings and emotions rather than keeping them hidden. However, he can easily become overprotective and secretive when his children are involved.
Mid to Low Ranged Voice; Slightly Soft, but able to be Harsh
(Yelling) H- Get pack here Barry!
(sad) I’m sorry kid, I’m sorry
(Sigh of sadness) What’s your father's name?

You know, we’ve worked together for nearly 3 years and I still know little to nothing about you.
(Laughter dying down) Okay, okay, I’ll shut up about it. So do your parents live here in Central City?
If you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your dad?
Caring, curious, and bold. She's smart, but more interested in human nature and current events than in science. She has good instincts for piecing together puzzles and isn't afraid to take risks to get to the bottom of a mystery.

He deeply cares for his sister, and looks out for the well being of his fellow Rogues at all times. He often drifts back and forth from walking the straight and narrow to going for the big score.

(intimidating) The Flash is it? Oh please, I'm not threatened by you.
(Yelling) Give us the fucking money!
(Frustrated) Are you serious right now? You have no idea the turmoil you have just caused.
A villain who uses tricks of slowness in battle with The Flash. His main weapon is slow, deliberate planning.
Alright, “The Flash”? Right? That’s what you go by? Here’s the thing “Flash”, I don’t really wanna hurt anybody, I’m just here for the money. However I will probably begin to dislike you if you don’t leave me alone.
(small laugh/scoff) I'll be with in one second.
Listen, I don’t really have time for games today, I have places to be.
Founder/Director of S.T.A.R. Labs. He is someone who disagrees with Meta-Humans roaming free, he however is okay with The Flash, as he knows there's no way to stop him, and he can use him to his advantage, to get rid of other Meta-Humans.
Low Voice; Calming
I don’t understand, even if he somehow recovered from a lightning strike in 4 weeks, which on its own isn’t possible, he should, at the very least be temporarily paralyzed from laying in a bed and not moving for an entire month.
I’ll have Ms. Baker contact his place of work, in the meantime, do some more research, we need to know as much as possible about how this is possible, and what happened that night.
What’s his condition? Is he on a ventilator?
A young scientist with a job at S.T.A.R. Labs in Austin TX. He is extremely smart, and is very compassionate behind closed doors. He is very closed of and to himself, but knows how to get the job done.

There has been an extreme development in the Allen case.
Well, he should be, but… as far as I know, as far as the CCGH has told us, he’s breathing on his own, and even… walking on his own. It shouldn’t be possible, but, he’s in perfect health.
I know, I know. We need to get Mr. Allen down here for tests.

The father of Barry Allen, and the husband of the late Norah Allen. Henry was framed by a time traveler known as the Reverse Flash who had killed Nora and sent to prison.
Low Voice; Very Calm
(Yelling) So you’re gonna up and leave me? Just like that?!
(Calming down) You don’t even want to fix this marriage do you?
(Depressed/Low) Hey Barry. How's it been?
Nora was a caring, gentle, and kind woman. She dearly loved her husband, Henry, and son, Barry. She was influential in her son's future heroism as "The Flash"; she always praised Barry for his good heart, which was his main strength and far more important than speed.
Mid to High Ranged Voice; Very Calm and Soothing Voice
(Yelling) Oh don’t play dumb with me, you know it’s not as simple as that!
(Soft/Motherly) You shouldn’t be worried about that, just worry about your Spelling Bee, today's your big day, you’ve been studying for weeks.
(Calm) I don’t have time for this Henry, I need to get our kid to school.
