The Eighth Bit Podcast is a project which I started solo very early on in the year. I loved doing it, but I lost some inspiration. But I have recently had a resurgence of wanting to grind and do all I could do with it.
What am I looking to do is blend the lines between podcast and radio show. I originally made it gaming related, but I want it to be more broad than that. I am looking for 3-4 co-hosts who can adhere to the following.
It is worth mentioning something: do NOT get discouraged by not getting selected. I plan on sporting a second podcast that is shorter and centered around something more specific. It will be its own entity entirely and I will only oversee it as a way to grow. So be sure to follow this project and keep an eye on your messages after selection is done.
* 18 or older. I am sorry if this alienates a group, but I have personally not had a successful project on here with high schoolers, mostly due to scheduling issues.
* Have the time to do this, I already know how to record as a group, all you need is a Discord and a good microphone. I will be doing the editing as I have an editor and myself. Just be able to have at least ONE day a week to record. And throughout the week be able to message and keep things organized and get to know each other.
* As previously mentioned a good microphone. I understand not everyone has a 100$ perfect microphone, but at the least I am looking for clear sound, little to no background noise, and you sounding natural. I am not really looking for the perfect radio voice, I am looking for a human.
* Be friendly. This is going to be fun above all else, and I want everyone to get along.
* Be up to date with current social/gaming/cultural trends and events. With that being said, we will totally avoid politics so do not worry about that.
* Have social media of some kind. The Podcast is available on Itunes, IheartRadio, Stitcher, Spreaker, Google Play, YouTube as well as Spotify be able to share that somewhere.
* Have a name you want to go by. It can be your real name, a variation, or a reasonable fake name. No names like "HotTamales69420YOLO" But if you want to go by something like Bubbles, cool I'm with it.
* Are you still reading through these? To be sure everyone read the description put in the comments of your audition your favorite color!
* Finally.. This is not paid (right now) but should it grow to a monotizable point and we get more sponsors, patreons ect, I fully intend to consult with someone more financially inclined then myself to be sure we are all compensated fairly.
Any questions ask me and be sure to skim through a couple episodes to see the type of style I tend to go for. It will be evolving but will have a similar concept to the most recent couple of episodes.
