The Descendants of the Kitsune ep. 1, Links and Loyalty

Pronunciation: Roon

Rune is the mother Kitsune of all the main characters, and is crucially important. When she gets shoved off a cliff and falls to her death, each one of her tails becomes a new Kitsune. Before that though, she was the leader of all 9 tribes. Her death did not stop her from appearing again though. She appears many times afterward, to guide her children through their dreams, and give them prophecies. She is fair, persistent, kind and can be tough. 

Pitch: Medium/Deep

Pronunciation: Sa-Fi-A

Sapphire used to be Rune’s best friend until she was taken away by her parents, due to her intelligence. When she returned, she pushed Rune off a cliff because she felt that her “friend” was always better than her, and was constantly in the limelight. She later joined a tribe of rouges, because she felt guilty and thought that she would never be welcomed anywhere again. 

Pitch: Medium/Deep

Pronunciation: Ah-Sh

Ash is Faith’s mentor and is strict for most of the time. She teaches Shapeshifting, Attack, Defence and Mind-Reading. Faith often gets frustrated with her, but later in the series she realises that Ash is only there to help her.

Pitch: Medium/High

Pronunciation: Kay-den

No series can be complete without a mean kid like Kayden. Kayden is Faith’s worst enemy and has a very low self-estee, so he feels like if he says mean things to people, it will make them feel the same feelings as him, and pity for him.

Pronunciation: Young Roon

This character is a young version of Rune. Rune is Sapphire’s best friend, and loves going on adventures. She is also very excitable and loud.

Pitch: High

Pronunciation: Young Sa-Fi-A

This role is a young version of Sapphire. Young Sapphire loves adventuring with Rune, and is extremely smart. Later in the series she is given a choice between living on the beach with Rune, or going to school. She picks school over Rune and instantly regrets her decision.
