The Book of Bill Animatic (Gravity Falls)
Project Overview
Casting and seeking animators for an unofficial animated adaptation of a scene from The Book of Bill, a companion book to the TV show Gravity Falls.
Please note that if you make your submission private I may not be able to see it. If you would like to submit privately, please DM me and I can give you an alternative place to send your audition.
What is this project?
This project will be an animatic of a scene from the Book of Bill, specifically the scene where Bill tortures Stanford (the "You're my property" scene).
What is The Book of Bill/Gravity Falls about?
Gravity Falls is a cartoon about twins Dipper and Mabel, who spend the summer with their great uncle in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, where they investigate the town's supernatural creatures. The Book of Bill is a book about the show's main villian, the dream demon Bill Cipher, and goes in depth on his history, including his time being a "muse" to Stanford Pines.
Who are you?
I'm a recent film graduate and a big Gravity Falls fan. I have experience casting, directing, writing, and editing short films, trailers, fandubs, music videos, and other projects.
What are the audition requirements?
You must be 18 or older, have a discord account, and a decent mic. And be careful that your audio doesn't peak.
Should I do an impression of the original voice actor?
Yes, I am looking for a J.K. Simmons sound-a-like and an Alex Hirsch sound-a-like. Please make sure that you can maintain your impression fairly well. I'm open to Stanford sounding a bit younger since he's in his 30's in this scene. Also, it's not required to put any voice effects on your audition for Bill.
What's the casting process going to be like?
I'll look through everyone's submissions as they come in, and if I'm interested in yours, I'll message you asking for your discord so we can schedule a call. I'll send you a script of the actual scene we're doing and when we meet, you can perform it and I'll give you some direction.
Will you be sharing the animatic?
Yes! It will be posted to YouTube when it's done.

A researcher studying the anomalies in the town of Gravity Falls. He’s very intelligent, but also stubborn and somewhat prideful. He’s the result of gifted child syndrome, constantly trying to work harder and prove himself. He desperately wants to discover the origin of the strange anomalies in Gravity Falls, which leads him to summoning Bill and making a deal with him. Bill helps Stanford build the portal and in exchange Bill can enter Stanford’s mind as he pleases. Stanford doesn’t realize the portal is dangerous and when he discovers Bill’s true plans he shuts it down.
Seeking a J.K. Simmons sound-a-like.

A chaotic dream demon and master manipulator. He’s very flippant and playful despite the all horrible things he does. When he loses his patience and gets angry, he can be especially dangerous. He can’t interact with the real physical world and can only talk with people through their dreams. He makes deals with people, usually misleading them. He often tricks people into letting him possess their body. He manipulates Stanford for a while, making him believe they're friends, but ultimately betrays him. Bill’s ultimate goal is to open a portal to connect his dimension to ours and take over the world.

Seeking animators/artists to collaborate on the animatic. Any software is okay as the animatic will be split up and worked on in separate parts. Animators/artists must be able to replicate the Gravity Falls style.
