The Adventures of Lio | Minecraft Fantasy Project

Project Overview

The Adventures of Lio is an original Minecraft fantasy film about a sheltered village kid who has spent his entire life dreaming about the world beyond the forest.

When Lio begins hearing the voice of Mira, the lost princess of Eldor, he learns that the ruined kingdom’s ancient enemy is close to returning. Armed with a broken sword and almost no experience, Lio leaves home alongside Elliot, the adventurer he has looked up to his entire life. What begins as the adventure Lio always wanted quickly becomes something far more dangerous, forcing him to face monsters, betrayal, and the fear that he may not be the hero everyone needs him to be.

The story mixes adventure, humor, mystery, and more emotional character moments. At its core, it is about finding the courage to keep going even when you are scared and completely unprepared.

For this project, we would prefer actors with one to two years of experience or less, especially newer performers looking for an opportunity to grow and take on a meaningful role. However, anyone is welcome to audition,

regardless of experience level. Passion, commitment, good communication, and a willingness to take direction matter more to us than a long résumé.

Lio is a young dreamer from an isolated forest village who has always wanted to explore the world beyond the trees. After learning that he carries the spirit of an ancient Hero, he is forced into an adventure to save the fallen kingdom of Eldor.

He begins the story inexperienced, awkward, and unsure of himself, but gradually becomes courageous through fear, failure, and sacrifice. The performance should feel youthful, sincere, emotionally vulnerable, and naturally funny without becoming overly cartoonish.

We are especially interested in discovering newer voice actors with minimal experience who are passionate, hungry for a major role, and willing to take direction.

Voice: Teen or young adult male voice

Role size: Lead; lots of dialogue throughout the film

Requirements: Clear mic quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Grounded fantasy-adventure energy with emotional range—humor, wonder, fear, anger, and determination, all in one character, not like… separate moods on different days

  • This is the legendary sword? You didn’t think that was information I needed?

Mira is the last princess of Eldor and the reincarnation of the Goddess of Light. For one hundred years, she has used her remaining power to imprison Korven beneath Highkeep while searching for the new Hero who can finally defeat him.

She initially presents herself as calm, wise, and almost otherworldly, but beneath that strength is someone exhausted by a century of isolation, grief, guilt, and uncertainty. Her relationship with Lio gradually becomes warmer and more vulnerable as she learns to trust him and admit that she is frightened too.

The performance should feel regal and mystical without sounding emotionless or overly theatrical. Mira needs a strong emotional range, moving between gentle guidance, urgency, sorrow, fear, affection, and determination.

Voice: Young adult female voice

Role size: Lead; significant dialogue throughout the film

Requirements: Clear microphone quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Warm, graceful, emotionally grounded fantasy performance with a subtle sense of ancient responsibility

  • Long ago, Eldor was protected by a Hero. Whenever darkness threatened the kingdom, his spirit returned. That spirit lives in you.

  • For one hundred years, I have held the seal alone. Every day, I feel him pushing back. Every day, I wonder if I chose wrong.

  • The Hero I loved was afraid too. He did not fight because he knew he would win. He fought because someone had to.

Paid: Flat Rate 10 USD

Elliot is Eldor’s most experienced adventurer and a celebrated figure within Lio’s village. He has spent years exploring the fallen kingdom, surviving monsters, uncovering ruins, and searching for a way to restore what was lost. To Lio, Elliot represents everything an adventurer should be: capable, brave, experienced, and respected.

Elliot initially becomes Lio’s mentor, teaching him how to survive, hunt, fight, and control his fear. Beneath his calm and confident exterior, however, Elliot carries deep resentment. He believes his years of sacrifice should have earned him the title of Hero, and watching an inexperienced teenager receive everything he wanted slowly brings his jealousy to the surface.

The performance should make Elliot genuinely likable and trustworthy early in the story so that his betrayal feels painful rather than predictable. He should sound experienced, grounded, slightly tired, and quietly charismatic, with bitterness and desperation gradually emerging.

Voice: Adult male voice, preferably mature but not elderly

Role size: Major supporting character with significant dialogue

Requirements: Clear microphone quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Grounded fantasy performance with warmth, authority, restrained jealousy, anger, and emotional intensity

  • Every night. You thought adventurers weren’t afraid? Then you thought wrong.

  • The world is big enough to make you feel even smaller. But it lets you choose who you are. Not who left you. You.

  • (angry) You run away for one night. You see a ghost. And suddenly you’re the Hero. You didn’t ask for this. I did. Every day.

Paid: Flat Rate 5 USD

Korven is the fallen king responsible for the destruction of Eldor. Once trusted by the royal family, he betrayed King Rowan, embraced the spirit of Darkness, and nearly destroyed the entire kingdom before Mira imprisoned him beneath Highkeep.

After spending one hundred years trapped inside the seal, Korven returns more powerful, bitter, and convinced that hope is a weakness. He believes peace can only exist when one ruler possesses enough power to force the world into order. Korven does not see himself as a mindless destroyer—he believes he is the only person strong enough to reshape the world correctly.

The performance should feel commanding, intelligent, and controlled. Korven should rarely need to shout. His calm confidence and complete lack of fear should make him intimidating, with explosive anger appearing only when his authority is challenged.

Voice: Adult male voice, deep or naturally commanding preferred

Role size: Major supporting role and primary antagonist

Requirements: Clear microphone quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Dark, regal, controlled, and threatening without becoming overly exaggerated or cartoonish

  • How disappointing. I expected a kingdom worth breaking. Instead, I find you.

  • A hundred years, and they still kneel to stories of the Hero. They build homes over ashes. They pray instead of kneel.

  • Hope made you stand. Now it will watch you die. Reach all you want. Nothing comes unless you can take it.

Paid: Flat Rate 5 USD

Elder Sera is the wise and protective leader of Lio’s forest village. She helped raise him and cares for him like family, but she often struggles to understand his desire to leave home and become an adventurer.

Sera remembers the fall of Eldor from her childhood, although many of those memories have faded with age. Her protectiveness comes from experience rather than cruelty—she knows how dangerous the outside world is and fears that Lio’s dreams will get him killed. Even when she doubts his claims about Mira and the Hero, she ultimately respects his choice and allows him to begin his journey.

The performance should feel warm, firm, intelligent, and slightly weary. Sera can be dryly funny, but she also carries quiet sadness and fear beneath her authority.

Voice: Older adult female voice

Role size: Supporting character with several important emotional scenes

Requirements: Clear microphone quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Warm but authoritative, with maternal affection, restrained grief, humor, and emotional sincerity

Voice description:

  • You going to sit up there all day, or are you planning to be useful?

  • Because Elliot leaves knowing he may never come home. Luck is not contagious, Lio.

  • If I chained you here, your heart would leave without you. I still don’t know if I believe what you saw. But I believe you’ve made your choice.

Paid: Flat Rate 3 USD

Taro is Lio’s closest friend in the forest village. While Lio dreams about adventure and the world beyond the trees, Taro is more practical and cautious. He believes their village is already fortunate to have food, shelter, and people who care about them, especially after the destruction of Eldor.

Taro is not cowardly—he simply understands the danger outside the village and worries that Lio is chasing stories instead of appreciating the life he already has. He should feel like a genuine friend who teases Lio, challenges him, and ultimately cares deeply about whether he comes home.

The performance should be natural, youthful, and conversational, with light humor and sincere concern beneath it.

Voice: Teen or young adult male voice

Role size: Supporting character with a smaller amount of dialogue

Requirements: Clear microphone quality, minimal background noise, and the ability to submit clean WAV or MP3 recordings

Direction: Casual, grounded, slightly sarcastic, but emotionally sincere

  • We have food. Homes. People who care about us. One day we’ll reclaim Eldor, but right now we’re just making sure we’re not the last of our people.
