Thadea Episode 1: A Short Fiction Podcast
Project Overview
Thadea will be a short fiction podcast to be distributed in itunes and other platforms. It will be a collection of short stories set in a fictional modern fantasy world. Each short story will tackle an aspect of this world and the everyday lives of the people that live in it.
Acquiring voice actors and actresses is thus done on an episode-by-episode basis because of the independent nature of each entry in the series.
Episode 1 is a narrative-heavy story that features a young mage with the ability to store memories trying to move on from a past love.
Please don't expect too much dialogue as this is a very narration heavy script as it was a converted short story.

The narrator can be either male or female. I have no prior idea what the narrator should sound like, so please just provide an audition equivalent to your best effort. The podcast is very narration-heavy because I converted it from an old short story I wrote.

Everyone in the world was born with power. Magic flowed through the veins of every man, woman, and child- from the highborn to the low. The arcane was a way of life. Magic came as natural as breathing.
The distribution of magic was not fair. Those born into noble or royal blood had access to two, sometimes even three powers.
Those from the founding families had all sixteen. But those who came from common roots, those who were not even allowed to take up a last name, only had one.
Kyda was one such person.
THADEA ZERO-ONE - REMEMBER TO FORGET

Our main character. A Woman in her early twenties. A medical professional who was mischievous when she was younger. She's friendly and approachable, sounding like a typical woman in her early twenties. Despite this, there is an undertone of sadness beneath her words. The auditioner must be able to emote sadness and horror. This is a very emotion-heavy role.
I’m sorry, I can’t. It’s Fourthday today. I have to meet with someone.
Guys. Don’t tell me that I fell for some weirdo in his forties.
(sound of soft crying, as if years of anguish have suddenly taken hold of her heart)
Claris and Loriel are two of Kyda's close friends, with one of them (Loriel) being her friend from back in high school. While they are two different characters, they both don't have many lines and I am thus requesting that only one voice actress audition for this role. Loriel is a main character with Claris only appearing briefly near the beginning of the story. They should have distinct voices.
Both characters are young women in their early twenties.
Claris: “Oh? Who is this someone? Sounds special.”
Loriel: "(scoffs) “Nothing serious? You’ve been meeting with this guy every week for the past few months. You’re never available during Fourth and Sixthday because you’re doing Creator-knows-what with whoever this guy is.”
Loriel: (comforting her friend in an embrace) "Oh Kyda... Kyda... it's okay now... it's okay..."
Holo is Kyda's late boyfriend. He was an aspiring artist before dying and he lives on in Kyda's memory. His voice should sound distant and disjointed, as if he isn't really talking to anyone as if he was an NPC in a video game. Because he essentially is, as his entire presence in the short story was forced from Kyda's imagination. Despite him being a main character, he has relatively few dialogue lines.

Ma'am? There's someone here looking for you, says she's your friend. Do you want me to bring her up to your room?
