Tales of Glarthford
Project Overview
Tales of Glarthford is a Minecraft Adventure/Puzzle/RPG hybrid map with limited time. There are 10 different tales, that all take place in a town called Glarthford and its surrounding areas. Each Tale begins at 4 am in the morning and lasts until midnight (Which equals 20 minutes of real-time). If you haven't managed to complete it by then you will have to restart. However, each day in Glarthford is roughly the same. Certain things always happen at the same time and the more you play the more of these things you can figure out and remember, and eventually the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and you can complete the tale. Tales of Glarthford also features many other things, such as Turn-Based Combat and an OST.
More Information
This is a remade version of an older Minecraft map, for which the trailer can be found above, more info about it can be found here.
For the map we want each character to have a fitting voice actor, a lot of them are already done, so only a few are listed here.
The map is already mostly finished and can be played. If you want to see any parts of it or how a specific character is involved in the gameplay, let me know. (McTsts#0001 on discord)

Update
Thank you all so much for auditioning! The deadline has been hit and every character here has been cast. A couple of the characters I didn't list here still need to be cast, but the project is definitely getting close to being fully cast/voiced (163 of 168 characters have been cast, most of which are already done. Only a small portion of the characters were listed here.). I'm still expecting there to be some delay until release since we'll need some time to wrap up everything and hunt down all the bugs, but approximately 95% of the project is finished overall. Great work, and thank you all again! -
New Characters
I decided to cast Adventurer to someone off-site, so I added two characters I previously had planned to cast off-site onto here, instead. (Astronomer & Citizen)
An undead zombie that is wearing a knight's equipment. An enemy for turn-based combat.
The day is treacherous. The sun burns us if we don't wear any head protection.
War is great because someone has to go out there and destroy all humans, and that is my task!
During Tale III a raid is happening. One of the raiders is the Pillager, who can be fought by the player. He should sound a bit unfriendly.
Look at that windmill! I'm so glad it became our outpost!
This windmill looks so fearsome at night! I'm so glad it became our outpost!
The Winged Sprite is a character from Tale VIII. He/She also provides the player with an elemental essence (air). He/She's a character with wings and he/she can fly, however his/her wings are initially damaged. Gender is not decided yet (character design will be redone)
I keep injuring my wings, but I can never find enough feathers to fix them...
The Explorer is a character that helps the player in various different encounters. They travel around the world and so the player encounters them in a different location in every tale. In one of the tales the Explorer even joins the player during turn based combat.
(default day line when talked to during Tale 2, normal tone)
I’m exploring the caves around these parts of the world. They are millions of years old, and many stories lie within them.
King Percival Thornheart is a ghost during the events of Glarthford. He used to be the king of Tharros (the kingdom in which Glarthford is located) before a majority of it fell and was taken over by a former noble, Grimsbane. Grimsbane's take-over was started with the murder of King Percival. His wife, Helene, after his death, but eventually they all died. In Glarthford Percival tasks you with the mission of defeating Grimsbane who is heading for Glarthford.
Greetings, adventurer. I am King Percival the First of Tharros (θeɹʊs).
Once, my kingdom was peaceful and prosperous, rich beyond your imagination, the biggest kingdom of the world. But now... so much of it is nothing but ruins and ashes. I have come to warn you...
The Ender Merchant is a friendly character that can be found during Tale X. He sells fruit and wants the player to get rid of an enemy. I'm planning to edit the voice of this character so a normal voice would work best.
Can you kill that shulker over there? He has been lurking around here for way too long! If you bring me his shell, I'll give you something in return!
The Ent King is the king of the ents. He's half person and half tree and speaks somewhat slowly with a deep voice but otherwise normal. A branch of his was stolen and he wishes for it to be returned. If you do so he gives you an elemental essence, which is required to obtain a weapon powerful enough to beat the boss of this tale
Pretty relevant character in Tale VIII, however, can't be found in any other tale.
I do not wish to talk with you mortals! One of thy younglings stole a branch of mine! Thou hast no idea what kind of power the branch holds within it!
Best of luck on thy search, mortal.
The Ender Priest is the villain/boss of the final tale (Tale X), so he's the final boss of the map. Tale X is about an "end disease" which is spread by the Ender Priest which slowly kills more and more characters in the map.
I'm planning to edit the voice of this character so a normal voice would work best.
You came too late. The disease has already spread. Even my defeat, unlikely as it is, won't bring your pathetic human friends back now.
We are taking over the world, and the only one humanity can send to defend themselves is a weak little boy?
A kind snowman who doesn't have a carrot nose, but wishes he did. As a replacement, he uses a sword for a nose. The player helps him by bringing him a carrot (in exchange for the weapon). He should pretty much sound like a human.
(initial dialogue; the snowman is a bit awkward about not having a carrot nose)
Hey, you! Could you maybe help me? I lost my nose, and I, uh, can’t find a suitable replacement for it! Could you get me a carrot? I am too scared of melting to go look for one myself...
(after the player gave him a carrot; sounds happy)
Thanks for the carrot! Now I look like a real snowman!
A character that gets resurrected by the young apprentice during Tale IX. While most of his resurrections are failed and result in zombies, the Maid is mostly alright.
What is going on? My body feels weak like I’ve been asleep for years.
Queen Helene Thornheart is a ghost during the events of Glarthford. She used to be the queen of Tharros (the kingdom in which Glarthford is located) before a majority of it fell and was taken over by a former noble, Grimsbane. She eventually became the leader of a resistance group, until her eventual death. In Glarthford the player meets her ghost along with the rest of the royal family and they warn the player about Grimsbane, who's headed to Glarthford.
Grimsbane killed every member of our resistance, Torn Earth. We tried to stop him, we really did...
The Demon is a character from Tale VIII. He provides the player with an elemental essence. There's another character called "Tribe Druid" which keeps trying to summon a demon (unsuccessfully) which is what he came to investigate. Even though he's a demon he's mostly friendly.
(default line, he's kind of annoyed about the summoning)
This druid fool has got no clue what he's doing! I felt a weak summoning and decided to check it out. But no, it’s not a big powerful druid, it’s just another foolish child testing out sacred summoning rituals. The worst thing is that I can't get back home, because I'm all out of blaze powder!
The Astronomer is a character that can be found in the Observatory, which is a location that is accessible during three of the tales. He's fascinated by planets/moons/etc. He's been looking out for a meteor.
(default night line when talked to, normal tone)
The sky is clear, and the moons of Jupiter are visible! See, there's Europa!
The diver is a friendly character that can be found in a hidden cave below a lake. The Diver's character will be redesigned in the future to fit the voice actor.
(Default day line when talked to, is stuck in a cave below the lake and needs help, is surprised to see another person)
Oh, I didn't expect to see another person down here. My helmet broke, and I was only just about able to get to this place before the water began to leak in.
The Miner Chief is the biggest character in Tale I (Spooky Bat) which serves as a tutorial. He's the Chief of the mine and looking for gemstones. The most relevant character in Tale I, Extra in Tale III, doesn't appear in other tales
Do you see that patch of diorite over there? Yeah, I've been trying to break through it all day. I wasn't very successful, as you can see… maybe TNT could do the trick?
Thank you! This should take care of the diorite.
The Miller is a character that works at the farm (near town) and always hopes for more wind. During some Tales, he's rather scared and hides inside the town. During Tale II: The Kidnapping he helps the player with making flour.
(default line when there's no wind, normal tone)
Hey! Are you in need of some flour? The mill is running, but I wish the wind would pick up a bit. A nice big storm would be perfect, don’t you think?
The Citizen is a friendly character that provides the player with helpful information during a lot of the tales. They are always found in various locations in the town.
(day line for Tale IV, disappointed/annoyed)
This is dreadful! What, haven't you heard? The Skeleton King stole the fireworks we were going to use for the parade! I heard he lives in a cave near the Emerald Waterfall!
(day line for Tale V)
I heard that the Brewer is making fire resistance potions today. With all of these fires, it might be worth checking out.
The Blacksmith has a rather rusty, and trustworthy voice. He helps the player in numerous of the tales. For example, in some tales, he opens up a path to the mines after being shown that gemstones have been found there. He also sells useful items like armor in some of the tales.
(default day line when talked to, in normal tone)
How goes it, my friend? What can I get for ya? A new fancy blade, maybe?
(after being shown newly found gemstones in the mines, happy)
Well, would ya look at that. Blimey, there really were gems in there!
The stray is one of the many enemies the player has to battle in turn-based fights. The stray can be encountered in snowy areas/during winter. They are dangerous enemies as they can freeze you.
(Default nightline, after the line starts a battle, somewhat angry)
I was having such a good evening… Until you came.
The Adventurer is a character that is always there to help and helps the player with various items and pieces of information. For example, in some tales (Tale II: The Kidnapping and Tale IV: The Stolen Fireworks) he provides useful information and in Tale X: The End Disease he provides the player with a valuable ender pearl.
(Default day line when talked to)
I find many interesting artifacts and gemstones on my travels, so I have lots of rare things to trade.
