What is Tales from Tookaville ?
Tales from Tookaville or "TFKV" is a passion project of mine I have decided to dedicate my life to. This is something I hold very close to my heart, and the efforts made has allowed TKFV to already be on it's way to developing into something beyond just an animated web-show. This project isn't 🔞 NSFW 🔞per say, but let me explain. In preserving the vision of this project, I am putting no limits on what I can and cannot show. I will dive deep into serious topics that could or could not impact those seeing it. By 🔞 NSFW 🔞 I mostly mean that it's a cartoon meant to be seen by adults, therefore I want y'all to know what you are getting yourselves into before dubbing the absolutely horrendous stuff that is going to come out these characters mouths.
With each episode posted, my goal was to outdo the episode before it. Eventually, I topped myself to a point where I decided to stop making minute-long episode, and begin my deep dive into fully fleshing out this universe. I didn't know anything about animation when I started, but everything got better as I went on. The next step, of course, is to go even further beyond.
!! THIS IS NOT PAID WORK !! : Right now, I am still broke (lol) but I'm confident in the value of this project. My aim is to attract people who could help further the development of the show. Despite the roles being unpaid positions, keep in mind these are all LONG TERM roles. As an artist I realize how important it is to get paid for the hard work you do, and I'd like to be able to offer the compensation you deserve as soon as I am able to. Times will change, and I'm confident in the success of this project to bring in money.
Rules/Auditioning Guidelines:
1 : First and probably the most important guideline, these roles are long-term roles. I will need you to be dedicated to the character you play. Do not audition if you don't know for how long you'll be voice acting. This is a passion project and I need people who are willing to put in equal faith and passion into it as me to make a working and effective relationship in the long-run.
2 : The quality of your microphone must be GOOD. I will be picky with audio, as the overall quality of the show is increasing and I need to be able to rely on decent hardware. I cannot have two different characters have a sound quality that differs drastically. A slight white noise is okay, nothing we can't delete with a bit of editing magic, but that's as far as I'll go.
3. A Discord account is needed for me to be able to directly speak with you via text. This is simply for ease of communication.
4. Submit 3-4 takes per line, each with different deliveries. Try to embody your character based on their summary, but do not be afraid to improvise -- as you'll see I did not describe them in excessive detail, because I want you to appropriate them first. Ask me questions about your role, and give me suggestions and feedback on what would help you best and most comfortably capture the personality of the character you're playing. Most importantly, giving you this improvisational freedom, have fun with it and experiment!
5. Finally, if you join the team, be respectful. We aren't brought together to speak about ideology or politics, but to work together and create something of value.
TFKV Synopsis : At the crossroads of the multiverses, buried deep in the space between spaces there is a world -- a world to which the universe entrusted the impossible task of ordering chaos, this world is called "The Realm."

The middle Santana child slightly older than her baby sister Haze. She is most of the time nonchalant but can be VERY easy to rile up. If she likes you or don't you will know it fairly quickly. MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE. She never leaves her sword which she sees as another limb. I have nothing peculiar in mind when it comes to her voice, so impress me and have fun. She is a very important character so I will be picky.

She's a narcissist, egotistical impulsive and sometimes mean. MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE . Her voice is pretty deep and she could have voice fry (not mandatory). She is one of the main characters therefore I will be very picky when it comes to her. When saying her lines, you can switch to portuguese whenever you want.

(Agitated, angry) I've been waiting in line for 2 hours, who do you think I am ?
(Nonchalant) Yeah my girl Taïdi wanna invite you to her party, you down ?
(Super angry, screaming) SO WHAT ? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOUR DUMBASS FRIEND AND THESE DUMBASS HAIRCLIPS, FUCK YOU !
She is an angel. When she speaks, her voice reverbs in the head of those who hear her. Her voice must the like honey to the ears, the most soothing and celestial possible.
(Worried) You don't need to speak for me to understand what you feel.
(Determined) Dräl ? It's no the first time people ask me about him, you cannot possibly understand the bond that unites us.
You are not a bad person, just one who needs to be loved, and who will be in due time.
Probably the most important role, this city is full of noice and people and I'll always need extras, I recommend auditioning for extras even if you auditionned for someone else, these extras are often turned into characters (exemple : Togya & Tilnaren in episode 1) they help me bring the city to life and had some random dialogues around. One thing if you have an accent, let it shine, everything that makes a voice unique is welcome here.

A huge orange mountain of muscles, fat, and fur. He's got a deep voice as imposing as his stature. He is pretty old too, around his forties. His accent could bend towards an eastern european one without being too much. As one of the main characters, I will be picky when it comes to him.

A masked and mysterious co-worker, not much is known about him except his love of arts. As for his voice, do whatever you want and feel free to experiment.

Harry Kass ? He's decent, but far from his glory days, meego.

A very big and imposing devil, she tends to the horns of devils in her hornsaloon and is very good at it. She let them vent here and is a bit of a motherly figure in the neighborhood for young devils. She speaks the truth even when it hurts and doesn't let rank or family intimate her or people in her business, in this saloon, she is Queen. Her voice needs to be deep, very deep and show her age too. If you got an accent, let it shine as usual.
(Strict) No you ain't gonna bring your attitude in here, get the fuck out now.
(Nosy) Sooo, are you still seeing this boy, what was is name again ?
(Concerned) Dear, what is this ? How'd you got your horns fucked up like that ? Did you even use the oil I gave you ?!
Haze's best friend that obeys her every commands and admires her. She's always in her shadow and agreeing with her. Nothing planned for her voice, so once again feel free to experiment, use accents and mannerism, whatever you feel comfortable doing that makes her more unique.

(Panicked, yelling) NO NO NO, WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT, HAZE'S GONNA KILL ME !
Vangelas's assistant at the horn saloon, not nearly as imposing or assertive as her, she still tries to prove herself and her skills. Feel free to experiment this is a character that will be tailored around the VA, appropriate her however you'd like.
(Irritated) Could you PLEASE stay in that chair for FIVE minutes without moving ?
(Excited) Wait wait wait, let me do her horns I got an idea.
(Shy) After work ? Yeah i'm free, why..?
Why 3 characters in one role ?, because these are background characters that I'll probably use again in the future, 2 are devils and one isn't but still got horns, they are regular clients and often hangout with Haze, in terms of personnality, it's totally up to you to bring it to the table, If you wanna do more improvised lines or if you got an idea for the character go ahead. Accent, manners, whatever can bring them to life. If you are the right pick we can work on this characters design together.

An old humanoïd rodent that owns the little shop in Ziggy's residence, very bitter and not very talkative, he gives mean looks to everybody. His voice would be low and raspy, how you'd image an humanoïd rat would sound. Except that feel free to do whatever you want with him.
