Project Prayer: Sword Art Online: Sister's Prayer Fan Adaptation
Project Overview
Sword Art Online Sister's Prayer is a prequel story to the much beloved Mothers Rosario arc. The arc was never officially adapted in any form so I decided to make my own fan adaptation.
The Sister's Prayer arc is one of the most emotionally charged stories I've ever read. It takes place roughly a year before the events of the Mothers Rosario arc with Yuuki and her twin sister Aiko hanging out and trying to enjoy what little time they have left together in a VR world called the Serene Garden. Yuuki and Aiko were infected with HIV when they were infants due to an infected blood transfusion and are both relatively near death. They question why it is that they get to benefit from this virtual reality technology while the same technology was being used to trap 7,000 people in a death game against their will. They eventually meet a girl named Merida who is a hospital patient with a brain tumor and is also relatively near death. Merida was able to participate in the SAO Beta and was fortunate enough not to be trapped in the death game due to her brain tumor however she wishes to enter SAO thinking that if she is going to die anyways, she'd rather die helping others than die for nothing.
I've spent the past 5 months working on a custom program to handle all the visual novel animations for me to make it easy and quick to make. Due to difficulties with the code, I won't be using the program in its full capacity for this video and I will be doing the bulk of the editing in a video editor. I am currently in the early scripting process and around half the character models are currently drawn and ready for use. I wish to release the video by end of May however that can change depending on multiple things.
I will not be making ANY money off this project. This is a FAN PROJECT meaning that I am doing this out of my love for the series rather than for a quick buck. Because of that I can't really afford to pay anybody too much, if anything at all. I'm expecting the video to get around 500 views based on some of my previous metrics for similar videos. I'm expecting the video to probably be around an hour long or so.

This is a VERY LARGE role! This role is not as large as the Yuuki and Aiko roles but it is still large. I will give you as much time as you require to record everything because of the sheer amount of lines. Also please have at least a SOMEWHAT decent mic. I'm not expecting recording studio quality but please no headset mics.
I haven't started the scripting for this character yet so the lines above are ripped straight from the fan translation of the story.
Merida is an energetic and fun character with a hidden fear of her impending death. She was lucky enough to be 1 of only 1000 people to get into the SAO beta test however before the beta ended, they discovered a deadly tumor in her brain and because of that, she was unable to play the game at launch. This ultimately saved her life but in her mind, it only delayed her death. She wishes that she could go to SAO and help the players there clear the game since if she is going to die anyways, she'd rather die fighting to help others.
I was in a medium-sized guild in SAO’s beta test. It was really fun… The one month test ended in the blink of an eye and everyone vowed to meet again for sure in the official release in November. But they found a tumor in my brain right after that, see. My Nerve Gear got confiscated since I really shouldn’t have been playing any games in that state.

Konno Yuuki is a 14 year old girl who is dying of HIV AIDS due to an infected blood transfusion from when she was born. After the SAO Incident began on November 7th 2022, she received an offer to test out a medical grade full dive rig and if she accepted, she would be cared for and monitored 24/7. She ultimately accepted however she feels very conflicted over the fact that the same technology that is being used to keep her alive is also being used to kill others.
Key character traits: Fun, sad, screaming.
(Sad/Questioning) Sis? Why do you think the criminal did all this? I just don’t understand it? Why did he trap those people in Sword Art Online? Why did he invent a machine meant to trap them but liberate us? Without this machine, we’d be painfully living out the rest of our lives in a hospital bed, yet this same machine is causing pain and suffering for thousands of others.
(Narration) The one part I will never understand though. The same man who took the lives of 3,000 people thus far is the same man responsible for giving me the life I have now.
I always say exactly what I’m feeling, and if they don’t like me, that’s fine! It doesn’t change the fact that I was close to their hearts.

Konno Aiko is a 14 year old girl who above all, cares for her younger twin sister Yuuki. She is willing to do just about anything to help her including giving up her opportunity to use the Medicuboid so that Yuuki could do so in her place. Just like Yuuki, she was also infected with HIV AIDS when she was an infant. She is usually very calm and very caring.
Key character traits: Fairly calm and caring.
(Calm) Yuu. Yuuuuu?? Hey Yuuki, wake up sleepy head.
(Explaining) He did but they think that if they break all the batteries quickly and all at the same time, the Nervegear won’t be able to kill them in time. The problem is that they would have to do it to all 7,000 Nervegears all at the same time which would be nearly impossible.
(Calm) Yuu… You don’t need to worry. Your only helping out in the Medicuboid’s development as a tester. You will end up helping ten times as many people in the future because of what your doing so don’t worry.
