Swede: Animated Short Film
Project Overview
Hello, all !
This is the casting call for the film Swede. This is a stop motion short film that is entirely human-hand made. We are looking to cast three speaking roles for this project.
We are looking for voices for:
Swede (protagonist)
The Dream Fox (antagonist)
Sister Polly (supporting role/side character)
All roles are in the English language.
For the protagonist role we are offering $50 USD.
For the antagonist role, we are offering $35 USD.
For the supporting role we are offering $15 USD.
all payements will be made through PayPal in 1-3 increments (if notes/re-dos are needed.)
All voice talent will be showcased in promotional material. Voice actors will also be listed verbally in the credits reel.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Swede follows a young girl who is determined to find her missing best friend whom she believes has been taken by a magic fox.
DEADLINES FOR AUDITIONS
The set deadline for auditions is July 5, 2026. There are no current plans to extend this deadline as puppets are already being sculpted and the script is being prepared. We will notify voice actors who have been cast for roles by July 7, 2026. Scripts and full character information will be sent out by July 9. We need to receive the first pass of all lines from actors by July 16. This is a hard deadline please do not audition if you will be unable to record within that time frame.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition and we will find a work around. (We still strongly recommend participation through Discord if possible so you can be kept as in-loop as possible.)
WHAT WE EXPECT
Please submit clean recordings on clear mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to our audio team ! :))
Feel free to send us your best/favorite takes-- three takes per line is preferred ! If you feel more comfortable providing more, that's completely okay, too !
Please submit your recordings as one .wav file to our studio email address, which will be provided to you after casting. If a file is too large to submit via email, we prefer to use WeTransfer.
We will occasionally ask for line re-dos. Notes will be provided on inflection, tone, emotion, ect. This will only be needed if it's something that absolutely cannot be fixed in post. We realize your time is valuable.

The Dream Fox is a wise and sneaky creature. She only talks in the Dream World and mainly communicates in vague, seemingly threatening advice. (Misunderstood)
She ultimately has good intentions to guide Swede back to the waking world.
