Superman: Metropolis is a passion project that creator Melody MacReady has wanted to make for years. It's a series of short stories about Superman, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen and their adventures told from the perspective of audio logs, security recordings, live news footage, and more. It's a throwback to the classic Superman radio shows that helped revolutionize the character in the first place, but with a more modern twist.
Each episode would have a different villain or special guest character while still developing the main characters, showing a Metropolis where Superman has been active for five years.
This first episode is going to be a test pilot, and if it does well, we hope to set up a GoFundMe or Patreon for fans to help fund the rest of the series that is still being written. This series will be uploaded onto YouTube, SoundCloud, and as many places as possible.
We do not own the rights to Superman as a character; all credit belongs to DC and Warner Bros. This is strictly a fan-made project.
While the series will mainly be told through audio, we do want to have some bits of artwork for the YouTube version, showcasing what these characters look like and give a better representation of what audiences are listening too. As a result, we will soon be looking for artists to hire onto the project. Keep an eye out for when those changes go up.

Clark Kent is a kind-hearted, clumsy, and wholesome reporter working for the Daily Planet in Metropolis, but when he is needed, he becomes the Man of Steel known as Superman.
(Kind and humble) "Well, I certainly hope this little incident hasn't put you off flying, miss. Statistically speaking, of course, it's still the safest way to travel."
(Heroic and serious) “Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us. And on my soul I swear until my dream of a world where dignity, honor, and justice becomes the reality we all share, I’ll never stop fighting. Ever!”
(Nervous and shy as Clark Kent) "It's no problem at all, Lois. You always were the better reporter. The best...actually."
Lois Lane is a fiery and determined yet good-natured reporter of the Daily Planet. She began as a doubter of Superman when he first arrived, but after five years, she has become fond of the mysterious flying hero. She is also the first person who ever got to interview him in person.
(Sassy) "You're my boss, not my shrink... Please don't try to analyze me, Perry."
(Loving yet playful) "No. I don't expect you to stand there and let people die. Not even for me..."
(Sincere) "Lois Lane. Welcome to the Planet."
The most loyal friend both Clark Kent and Lois Lane will ever know. He's a geeky and energetic photographer who loves both his co-workers like they were the only siblings he's ever known. It's physically impossible to hate Jimmy, even at his worst. He's a major Superman fan and hopes to one day invite him onto the Daily Planet's new podcast show.
(Teasing) "Claaaaaark. Are you really gonna just sit there and watch like a stalker or are you gonna ask her out?"
(Happy and excited) "Pictures of an alien spacecraft that crash-landed in the middle of the dark, scary woods at night? Sounds like a job for Jimmy Olsen!"
(Geeky and hyped) "He shoots LASERS from his eyes, Lois! How can you NOT freak out about it every time you see it?"
Perry can be cranky, but he is the best editor-in-chief that the Daily Planet has ever had and Clark, Lois, and Jimmy know it. He doesn't have a huge role in the story, but he's there.
(Cranky) "Olsen! If you want to keep this job, you better have that interview with Superman by sundown!"
(Proud) "You did good today, Lane. Next time, try not to leap head first into a possible death scenario."
(Annoyed) "Great Caesar's ghost, Kent. I send you out for coffee and you bring me everything BUT the coffee."
The usurper King Of The Seven Seas. Orm Marius has a deep-seated love for his people, but he was raised to hate the surface dwellers. He is the first villain that Superman fights in this series as he attempts to invade the surface and make them pay for centuries of war, pollution, and vanity.
"The Kryptonian. Whispers of your existence reach even down to our civilization. The alien who flies through the air like a shark glides through the sea."
"You had your chance...Superman. Now, Atlantis will rise like a tsunami and drag you all down to the depths.
"No fear? Then you will die braver than most."
The surprise appearance in the first episode who comes to fight his brother, Ocean Master. He is the true king of the ocean.
(Heroic) "Atlantis is my duty, but the land will always be my home."
(Proud) "My father was a lighthouse keeper. My mother was a queen. They were never meant to meet. But their love saved the world. They made me what I am: a son of the land, a king of the seas. I am the protector of the deep. I am... Aquaman."
(Calm but threatening) "You dare threaten me? Tread carefully."
There is a scene with a plethora of reporters all trying to ask Superman questions. They are the typical annoying reporters, both male and female presenting. It really doesn't matter the age or gender or even the accent. It's a small role that I would love to cast 4-5 people for.
Is it true you're an alien? Is that even your true appearance?

A generic evil soldier who serves Ocean Master and the coup of Atlantis. Male or female presenting, it just needs to sound like an imposing warrior from the ocean depths.
