SubNatural is an audio"drama" disguised as a podcast. Four friends decide to start a casual podcast in one of their apartments. Most of the time it's unassuming conversation about their lives, but every episode something strange happens to them. Whether it's an earthquake, a witch's curse, or a time loop, the show must go on because rent is really high and they gotta pay it somehow...
How does THAT work??
Subnatural is a mostly improvised audiodrama by @verfego and @thebrightagenshow where every episode a seemingly random scripted segment or planned bit dramatically alters the rest of the episode. It'd be tonally similar to Digital Circus in the sense that horror isn't a primary focus, but scary things happen semi-frequently. Episodes will be 20 to 30 minutes in length, So depending on how often we break character and start laughing, recording can be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Most of the time spent recording will just recorded banter in a discord call as your character. Each episode will have an outline detailing how it will progress (so improvising is less stressful (and awkward)) including a script if necessary for specific segments.
Requirements + Environments:
This is a casual project, so the work environment will be extremely loose, and expectations aren't super high.
Required:
Mic that is not noticeably worse than ours (See pilot).
Heavy character improvising.
At the very LEAST, one hour of free time a month.
18+.
Discord Account.
The ability to record your own audio track.
Audition information:Character voices are completely up to the auditioner's interpretation, and both roles are open to any gender. After the deadline, our favorite auditioners will be approached for a callback/interview. Mostly just double-checking your comfort level on the team. Remember to HAVE FUN! This project is more for us to enjoy ourselves than anything else. Improvising with strangers is technically a "bad idea" and a "great way to have zero chemistry," but we're doing it anyway because it's fun and you should too!
