Starfield mod: Defying Fire
Project Overview
Defying Fire is a mod project for Starfield where we aim to create a fourth major city, complete with its own backstory, factions, quests, vendors, repeatable content, player homes, etc., with the goal of making it feel on par with the rest of the game.
The city is caught in a power struggle between the collectivist Yalcin Corp, led by the controversial Sergej Yalcin, and SLB-26, an equally controversial rebel group fighting for the rights and freedom of the corporation’s employees.
The planned release date is September or October 2026. However, there's already a free pre-release available on Creations: https://creations.bethesda.net/en/sta...
This includes the town of Arinya with four quests centered around introducing players to our version of the Sirius System and the factions vying for its control.

the leader of the Yalcin Corp.
Sergej sees himself as the father of the people of Yalcin City, and has been the architect of some far-reaching collectivist policies and edicts, where he tries to transform Yalcin City into his ideal society.
Sergej is part of the Yalcin Family, a royal-like family that owns the corporation and controls the Sirius star system.
Sergej succeeded to the throne of the corporation after the death of his sister, Zifa Yalcin, who was first in the line of succession. Using the total power this position brings, he has transformed the corporation to be more in line with his personal, collectivist vision.
Sergej Yalcin is arguably the most divisive and powerful person in the whole Sirius system and the root cause for both an increase in safety and equality, but also in authoritarianism.
His roots are in Tatarstan, Russia, but as his family has left the earth more than 100 years ago, this does not show in his accent, only in certain ceremonies or habits.

BackstoryAs a child, he was neglected by his parents and ended up in the streets of Yalcin City, where he learned how to survive with nothing. (here he became pretty unhinged and violent) This was at the time that Ivan and Zifa were still in charge, so before any collectivist changes Sergej made (shows the cold pure business mindset of Yalcin Society before Sergej)
Due to Sergej’s collectivist policies, SLB sympathiser was given a job in the mines, and a personal hab. However, he was fired and ended up on the pittside after physically attacking a coworker. (as he was used to life in the streets)
So basically, he needed Sergej’s collectivist policies when he was younger and neglected by his parents but it was too early. Afterwards he got punished by Sergej’s hard policies when he would’ve needed Ivan/Zifa’s more lenient business minded policies.
Feeling neglected by the corp time and time again, he has a deep hatred for it.
(His eccentric-ness can be seen as a way to cope and/or a defense mechanism)

He thinks he is more important to SLB than he actually is, and is very loyal to its cause.

Used to live all over the settled systems, but has settled down temporarily in Yalcin City to benefit from the volatile situation and need for underground fixers.

Backstory
40 year old Ex-Ronin mercenary for the Seokguh Syndicate, lived in Neon doing hits around the Volii and Porrima systems.
His final job for the Seokguh left him stranded after crashlanding on a moon.
He was rescued by miners who later moved to Yalcin. There, Kazuma befriended Ian, one of the miners who had rescued him, and joined the SLB with him. Ian died in front of Kazuma during an SLB mission, leaving Kazuma scarred.
He decided to leave Yalcin Space for some time before coming back, now without much left in his pocket and with little opportunities of building a life.
