“I'm trying to come up with a new song for my band, but I'm blanking... Hey.. What do you think my new song should be about?”
“Ugh, I stepped in something gross earlier. And I just bought these shoes.”
“When you see hot air balloons drifting over the sea, you'll know that summer's in full swing.”
A depressed alcoholic teen(?) who is often rude and unhappy.

“What's the point of life if all you do is work?”

A teen girl who loves to make clothes and collect gems.

“I wish Haley would get a job or at least contribute to cooking and cleaning. I think she's hoping to marry someone rich.”
“I work part-time at Gus' saloon. It pays the bills.”
“Sometimes the flowers speak to me... each one has a different story to tell!”
A teen girl who lives alone in a small cottage and loves nature and wood carving. Might be the love interest for the main character.

A woman who loves tea and plants, has a teen daughter and is married.

A lonely middle aged man who runs the local Blacksmith.

“Er... hi. I'm Clint. I'm the town blacksmith. If you ever need to upgrade your tools, I'm your guy.”
“Sometimes I wonder how I ended up in this town.”
“The weather doesn't really matter to me. I typically stay near my shop year-round. Depressing, huh?”
A male scientist who lives in the mountains, is married and has a daughter and step-son.

“This valley has a very vibrant and diverse ecosystem. That's one reason I was excited to move here.”
“Robin has a hot temper. It's better to stay on her good side. Don't tell her I said that.”

An old lady who loves baking and is in charge of the town's flowers.

“George spends the whole day in front of that darned television set. I wish he'd go outside more. Some fresh air would do him good.”
“I used to love looking at the clouds, but I have trouble seeing them these days. My eyes just don't work as well as they used to.”
“It's nice of you to take the time to visit George and I. Without young people around, we'd age much faster.”
A bitter old man who loves television and his grandson.

“So you're a farmer, huh? At least it's honest work.”

A man who loves to cook, owns and runs the local saloon.

“Emily's been working here for a while now. I don't know what I'd do without her! I would hate to have to clean all those pots by myself.”
“Business has been pretty steady thanks to my regular customers.”
“There's nothing like a glass of dry red wine on a day like this, huh? I love my job. Hehehe.”
A shy young girl who lives with her aunt and godfather.

“I'm taking a break from house chores today. I'm taking the day off. If I don't spend any time outside, I'll go crazy! Plus I don't want my legs to turn soft.”
“So you're a farmer, huh? Interesting. I've never met a farmer before. Maybe some day you can teach me how to grow vegetables.”
A bitter man who serves the military, married and has two children.

“Sam has really grown up since I left. He's a man now. I wish I could've been there for him.”

“When Sun is angry, it feels good in the jungle. Sun can't find us beneath the leaves. We trick him! Haha...”
“I've learned a lot from my parrot family... I'm sure there's a lot more out there I don't know.”
“Be careful in the volcano... the spirits don't like outsiders.”
The mayor of the town, has a secret relationship with one of the villagers.

“So, how was your first night in the old cottage? Your grandpa used to complain about the rickety old bed. But I think, deep down, he actually loved that house.”
“Good morning! I'm just checking on the garden as usual.”
“I've been Mayor of Pelican Town for over twenty years! No one ever runs against me when it's time for an election. I like to think that it means I'm doing my job well. I like being Mayor.”
A homeless man who lives in a tent in the woods.

“A stranger?... Hello. Don't mind me. I just live out here alone.”
“The crisp air of the wilderness is all I care to know. I live out here by choice.”
“Someone was throwing rocks at my tent last night... I just had to wait it out.”
A woman who lives in the forest with her niece and nephew, owns and runs a ranch.

“Animals are so innocent, so sweet. And If I don't look after them, who will? I just hope my chickens aren't too upset when I take their eggs.”
“My nephew Shane has been staying at my place the last few months. He helps me out with the chickens, so I'm not complaining.”

An alcoholic woman who lives in a trailer with her daughter.

“My house ain't pretty but at least it's by the river.”
“Hey. Penny's my baby girl. Be nice to her or leave her alone, got it?”
A fisherman who lives on the dock, runs the fishing shop.

“Ahoy there! It's nice to see young folk movin' in to the valley. It's not very common these days.”
“A true angler has respect for the water... don't you forget that.”
“If you really want to get the fish biting, make sure you put some bait on your hook.”
Also known as M. Rasmodius, lives alone in a tower in the woods.

“Ah, yes. I have predicted your arrival a long time ago, young farmer. However, your fate is ultimately in your own hands.”
“Have you made any headway with the forest spirits?”
“I believe the townsfolk are afraid of me. It is unfortunate, but I suppose it is human to be afraid of the unknown.”

“Have you seen that wrecked ship on the south shore? My husband was the captain. A pirate, he was. He set sail one day, never to return.”
“I never thought I'd see a new face on this island, dear. But I'm glad you're here!”
“My hut may be small, but it's more than enough for what I need. And best of all, I built it myself.”
