Starbound Series Pilot
Project Overview
Welcome to the casting call for a fan-made animated series for the game Starbound!
The series is ran and written by Sky Crane (CreeperX3) and Julie (thepiratetf2), and primarily follows Tai, a floran-raised Hylotl who after having escaped Earth’s destruction at the hands of The Ruin, goes on an adventure to save the universe
The series will incorporate mainly Vanilla elements, but will have some mods thrown in there as well (A.V.I.A.N. and Frackin’ Universe, for two primary examples)
What to expect
Generally, just expect for the team itself to be pretty chill all around, with no deadlines and plenty of chances to goof off between work.
However, you must have a Discord account to apply, and to have the time to consistently join a weekly voice chat every Wednesday at 4:00pm PDT
For voice actors specifically, you might get asked to play multiple roles, mostly minor ones, if the roles are needed (Such as unnamed one-off characters, for example)
Voice Actor
Tai is a Hylotl who had been raised by florans before losing his home in a raid and ending up as the only survivor from his tribe.
His voice should sound a little rough around the edges, he sounds a little more aggressive than he usually means to be and pronounces ‘S’es with a soft hiss, as if he has a lisp

(Indignant) I just didn't know that Wizard Beer was so strong!
(Annoyed) Absolute waste of oxygen, I cannot wait until we don't have to deal with him anymore.
Voice Actor
Frank is a human who is well known for being studious and principled. He has also adopted pacifism, meaning that he is more willing to talk out of fights than start them.

(Excited) Nullan! Look at this! We’ve got a location for it!
(Firmly) This is exactly why we stopped being friends, Munskp.
(Casually) Hopefully it's nothing too bad. After all, we are starbound!
Voice Actor
Nullan is a Glitch who is a quick learner and has an appreciation for beauty in the world around him.
Nullan, like all Glitch, say the mood of what they say out loud before they say it.

Voice Actor
Maya is an Apex who has seen a lot in her time before joining The Protectorate, but instead of letting it consume her, she chooses to be the brightest smile in the room.
Voice can be either male of female, as long as it's deep and with a Russian accent.

Voice Actor
Leda is the current Grand Protector for The Protectorate, and dies soon after the Earth has been attacked.
There's not much more to say about her, sorry.
Lines should be read in ABCABCABC as all three are part of the same speech

Munskp is an extremely snooty image-conscious Hylotl who looks down upon the main characters.

Animator
We need 2D animators, the program used isn't too important, just as long as you can do character & facial animation well.

You must be able to replicate the art style used by Lili Ibrahim in character bios & racial key art (For references, check the Starbound wiki: https://starbounder.org/Starbound_Wiki)

The style doesn't have to be as detailed as the Character Artist's, but it should at the very least try to match the style seen for the pixel art used for Starbound in-game.
