Star wars alternative universe (game)
Project Overview
Act 1: The Daily Grind
Setting:The Lower Habitation Decks of The Citadel. Before you save the galaxy, you have to clock in. You start your shift in the dingy, industrial underbelly of the station. This act serves as the tutorial for crafting, movement, dialogue, and the Scavenging System
The Mission: Your boss, Head Janitor Plotkin, gives you a list of chores: clean a ruptured sewage valve in the engine room, scrub the propaganda posters in the cafeteria, and empty the hazardous waste bins.
As you work, you overhear NPCs talking. Soldiers are bragging about oppressing outer-rim colonies, and scientists are whispering nervously about "Vance's secret project." You can steal extra cleaning supplies, pocket loose screws, and find your first weapon: a rusty Squeegee with a sharpened handle from the janitor’s closet
Act 2: Upper Deck Privileges
Setting: The Luxurious Officer Quarters and Science Labs.
Having proved you won't steal the silver, you are promoted to the Upper Decks. The environment shifts from rusted steel to polished chrome.
Gameplay: You must navigate around patrolling guards who will fine you (deducting your hard-earned credits) if they catch you stepping on the polished floors before they dry
The Blueprint:This is where you have to actively find a way into Overseer Vance’s private office.
Choice A:Use your gathered junk to short-circuit the office door electronics.
Choice B: Bribe Vance’s personal assistant with a rare vintage coffee pack you found scavenging in the lower decks.
Once inside, you discover the Datapad detailing stuff such as and Vance’s personal diary if you dig deep enough
Finding the diary in Act 2 is the perfect way to reward players who love exploring and hacking into secret areas. It adds so much flavor to the stealth gameplay!
Here is how you can write the diary entries that Finley finds on Overseer Vance’s personal Datapad. You can use a retro digital font on screen to make it feel like a real prop.
### **[DATAPAD UNLOCKED: PERSONAL LOGS - OVERSEER VANCE]**
#### **Log Entry #014 – Age 9**
> *"Thomas got another medal today for fixing the hydroponics bay filtration unit. Mother baked him a whole star-cake. I sat at the table for twenty minutes before anyone realized I didn't have a plate. I went down to the breaker room and pulled the master fuse for Sector 4. The whole block went dark for three hours. Everyone was screaming my name, trying to find out who did it. They were angry, but they knew I was there. It felt good."*
>
#### **Log Entry #118 – Age 22**
> *"The High Command assigned me a standard unit ID today: Trooper #8843. A number. They want me to wear a helmet, blend into the background, and march in a line like a mindless drone. I won't do it. If they won't remember my face, I will make them stare at my name. I'm modifying the armor blueprints for my squad. I'm putting my name right on the chest plate. Big letters. They’ll look at me when I speak."*
>
#### **Log Entry #402 – Present Day (Before Act 2.5)**
> *"The Atmos-Spitter is finally ready for calibration. The board members think it’s just a tactical bio-weapon to subjugate the outer rim. Fools. They don't see the grand design. When this machine fires, the radiation flare will scar the very atmosphere of the galaxy. A permanent, glowing green streak across the stars. Every time a citizen looks up at the night sky, they will see my work. They will never be able to ignore me again."*
>
### **How this impacts the gameplay later on:**
* **Dialogue Option in Act 6 (The Boss Fight):** When Vance is shooting his Pyro-Cannon and screaming at you, a new dialogue prompt can appear if you read the diary.
* *Finley:* *"Hey Vance! Does your brother Thomas know you're playing with matches?"*
* *Result:* Vance flies into a blind rage. His attack speed increases, but his accuracy drops significantly, making it much easier for you to dodge-roll behind him and smash his armor with your Shock-Baton.
* **Achievement Unlocked:** Players who find the hidden diary can unlock a funny or dark achievement, like **"Childhood Issues"** or **"Notice Me, Galaxy!"**
The World-Breaker you say to yourself “I need to stop this”
Act 2.5: The Assembly Call
Setting: The Grand Atrium / Main Security Hub.
Just as you slip out of Vance's office, alarms don’t blare—instead, a station-wide chime rings out. Overseer Vance’s booming voice echoes over the intercoms, ordering every unit, soldier, and officer to assemble immediately in the grand auditorium for a mandatory address regarding
"the dawn of the new era."
Suddenly, the Upper Decks are a hive of activity. Thousands of troops begin marching out of the barracks, filling the hallways. You realize you’re completely trapped in the main hub as an entire army floods the corridors.
Gameplay (The Slip Away): You can't fight a whole army. Instead, you have to use the chaos to your advantage. As the guards march in tight formation toward the elevators, you blend into the moving crowd, keeping your head down and mimicking their posture and make sure to look on the ground because one random guard will drop his keycard
The Breakout: When the column passes the central maintenance shafts, you spot your opening. While the commanding officers are distracted directing traffic, you dive into an open ventilation shaft, slipping away entirely unnoticed while the entire base’s security force is focused on Vance's big speech
Act 3: The Hallway Patrol
Setting: The labyrinthine corridors leading to the lower level armory.
With the access-card in hand, you rush down the metallic halls, but your janitor uniform sticks out like a sore thumb. A patrol of three Vanguard Enforcers step out of a gravity-lift, energy rifles raised. "Halt! All non-combat personnel are ordered to watch the broadcast. State your business."
Player Choices:
Option 1: "I'm getting snacks."
Result: The enforcers chuckle. "Yeah, Vance goes on for a while. We'll escort you to the breakroom." They walk you to the vending machines. While their backs are turned, you craft a vial of knockout gas and smash it against the wall and sprint down the maintenance chute while they cough and collapse.
Option 2: Tell the truth
Result:"Vance is crazy! The machine is going to poison the galaxy!" You yell. The enforcers look at each other, then smirk. "We know. We're on his payroll. Welcome to the grim side of the Regime." They throw you into a high-security stasis-cell for life. [GAME OVER]
Option 3: Show the Guard's Identification.
Result:You flash the Elite Sentinel's high-level access-card without saying a word. The enforcers snap into a crisp salute, assuming you're on a classified errand for Vance. "Apologies, sir. Proceed."
Act 4: Entering the Armory
Setting: The heavily fortified Vanguard Weaponry Vault.
You swipe the access-card, and the heavy blast doors hiss open. Inside are rows of sleek V-11 plasma rifles and experimental kinetic shields. Outside, you can hear Vance's booming voice echoing through the base structure.
Suddenly, a low, bass-heavy mechanical hum begins to vibrate through the floorboards. The superweapon is drawing power. The air feels charged with static electricity. You grab a rifle, strap an energy shield to your forearm, and run.
Act 5: The Staging Ground Skirmish
Setting: The massive assembly square, packed with thousands of troops.
You burst into the back of the assembly area just as Vance finishes his speech. The crowd is brainwashed, cheering fanatically. But as you try to reach the main control console to pull the plug, Vance points directly at you. "A traitor in our midst! Eliminate him!"
Chaos erupts. Dozens of corrupt, loyalist enforcers open fire. Blue and red plasma bolts light up the room. You activate your kinetic shield. It deflects the incoming fire, but the shield battery is draining fast. You have to push forward through the crowd, trading plasma fire with enforcers while navigating around exploding console panels
Act 6: The Flame and the Baton
Setting: The Reactor Core Bridge.
You reach the main console, but your rifle clicks empty. You throw it aside and snatch a discarded Z6 Shock-Baton off the floor, spinning it to life with an electric crackle.
Overseer Vance steps onto the bridge, a sadistic grin on his face. He isn't holding a pistol—he's strapped into a heavy-duty, military-grade Pyro-Cannon
"You're too late, janitor!" he screams, unleashing a massive torrent of fire.
options that unlock only if Finley found Vance's childhood diary in Act 2.
Phase 1: The Conflagration Begins
Finley rushes onto the Reactor Core Bridge. The air is thick with static and heat. Overseer Vance stands at the center, locking his heavy-duty Pyro-Cannon into place.
Vance:"Look at you. A literal piece of trash trying to clog up the gears of progress. You're too late, janitor! The Atmos-Spitter is drawing core power. In five minutes, my name will be burned into the night sky of every planet in the rim!"
Finley (Standard Option 1): "You're insane, Vance! You're going to poison billions of innocent people!"
Vance's Reply: "Innocent? They're *nobodies*! But after today, they will look up, they will see the green sky, and they will know exactly who I am!"
Finley (Diary Unlocked Option):
"All of this just because your parents forgot your birthday, Vance? Really?"
Vance's Reply:(Stammers in shock, then turns bright red)* "How—where did you... SILENCE! You don't know anything about me! I'll incinerate you!" *(Vance's opening attack speed is boosted by 15%, but his accuracy is sloppy).
Phase 2: The Mid-Fight Exhaustion (Armor Breaking)
*Vance fires a massive torrent of flame, but his Pyro-Cannon suddenly sputters and clicks empty. He drops to one knee to forcefully rip out the mini-fuel tank and slam a new one in. This is Finley's moment to strike with the Shock-Baton.
Vance (Panting/Panicked):"Stand still! Why won't you just stay down and let me win?! Look at me! Fight me like a man!"
Finley (Standard Option 2):"I'm not a soldier, Vance. I'm just here to clean up your mess." (Finley delivers a heavy electric strike, cracking Vance's shoulder armor).
Finley (Diary Unlocked Option):"Is this what you did when your brother Thomas won his medals? Just threw a massive temper tantrum?"
Vance's Reply:(Screaming in rage) "Stop saying his name! I am better than him! I built this! I am the Overseer!" (Vance clumsily drops his replacement fuel tank, extending his stun window by an extra 5 seconds).
Phase 2: Desperation
*Vance’s military-grade armor is completely shattered, sparking with electricity from Finley's baton. He is bleeding, furious, and terrified of losing his audience.*
Vance: "No... no, it's happening again. You're trying to push me back into the dark. You want them to forget me! I won't go back to being invisible!"
Finley: "It's over, Vance. Step away from the master console."
Vance: "Never! If I have to burn this entire station down with both of us on it, I will! THEY WILL REMEMBER ME!"
### **The Final Blow & Transition to Act 7
*Finley lands a final, crushing blow with the Shock-Baton, knocking Vance out cold. Vance collapses onto the floor, his broken helmet visor flickering out.
As Finley lunges for the abort switch, the screen flashes green. The weapon fires anyway. Vance’s unconscious body is bathed in the initial wave of toxic cosmic radiation, setting up his horrific mutation for the end of the game.
Design Tip for the UI
When the diary options appear on the screen, you can make them look distinct—maybe highlighted in a soft blue digital glow—so the player immediately knows, "Ah, my exploration in Act 2 paid off, I can use this to mess with his head!"
Boss Fight Mechanics: The bridge is a circle. Vance moves slowly but fills the air with unavoidable walls of fire. You must dodge-roll behind blast shields.
The Opening:Every 30 seconds, Vance’s pyro-cannon sputters and clicks. He reaches down to his utility belt to swap out a mini-fuel tank. *This is your moment.* You rush in, delivering heavy baton strikes to break his armor.
The Tragic Climax: After a grueling battle, you strike the final blow, knocking Vance out cold. But as you lunge to hit the abort button, the master console flashes bright green. The weapon fires. A blinding wave of cosmic radiation ripples outward, tearing through the atmosphere and shooting across the cosmos. You sprint to Vance’s personal escape shuttle, seal the airlock, and blast into warp-speed just as the station is engulfed in a green glow.
Act 7: One Year Later – The Apocalypse
Setting: A desolate, green-tinted Outer Rim spaceport.
[Cutscene] A year has passed. The radiation didn't instantly kill the galaxy it mutated it. The cosmic energy turned billions of citizens and soldiers into mindless, glowing-green "Glow-Walkers" (flesh-eaters). Even worse, the radiation has condensed into thick, toxic green sludge that is killing planets.
Finley steps off his ship. He’s wearing scavenged Vanguard armor for protection, but he still carries his trusty, reinforced space-janitor mop. His new mission: clean up the galaxy, literally and physically.
Immediately, a pack of radioactive Glow-Walkers ambushes you from the shadows . After three waves of intense melee combat with your mop-staff, a group of human survivors steps out behind him from a bunker, plasma-guns aimed at your armor. "Regime scum! Give us one reason we shouldn't shoot!"
Player Choices:
Option 1: "I've turned to the good side, I just like the armor."
Result: "Likely story, buckethead!" They don't believe you. A firefight breaks out. You have to defeat them (non-lethally) and "borrow" some civilian clothes to blend in.
Option 2: "Oh, this old thing? We weren't given anything else to wear!"
Result: The survivors soften up. "Yeah, the Iron Vanguard really screwed everyone over." Feeling sympathy for a lone survivor, they hand you a set of upgraded, reinforced scavenger armor plates to help you stay alive.
Option 3: Pull out hidden knockout gas.
Result: You throw the gas, but the survivors are wearing surplus military radiation masks. The gas does nothing. They instantly open fire and blast you. [GAME OVER]
Act 8: The Wasteland Wanderer
Setting: The Ash-Wastes of Planet Oros Prime (One Year Later).
Instead of going straight to a spaceport, your escape shuttle crashed on a backwater mining world now choked by toxic green ash. This introduces the Open-World Survival Phase of the game.
The Environment:The sky is a perpetual sickly yellow-green. You have to manage your Filter Level (using your janitor knowledge to craft air filters out of old mesh screens and charcoal).
The Loot: You explore ruined settlements, fighting off irradiated wildlife like Rad-Roaches (giant space-roaches) and early-stage Glow-Walkers. You upgrade your space-suit with scrap metal, turning your janitor outfit into a makeshift set of Wasteland Scrapper Power Armor
Act 9: The Faction War
Setting: The Scrap-Town of "Rust-Bucket."
You finally find civilization, but it's broken. Two factions are fighting over the remaining clean water purifiers: The Rust-Raiders
(mad-max style scavengers) and The Cleansed (a religious cult that worships the green radiation) Player Choices:
Option 1: Side with the Raiders. You help them repair their heavy vehicles using your mechanical skills.
Reward:They give you a Turbocharged Plasma-Scythe (an upgraded mop) and point you toward the spaceport.
Option 2: Side with the Cult. You trick them into thinking you are a prophet because your janitor suit makes you immune to certain sludge pools.
Reward: They grant you access to their "holy relic"—a fully functional starship hangar.
Option 3: The Janitor's Neutrality.
You use your chemicals to poison both sides' water supplies, rendering them unconscious, and steal the ship keys yourself.
Act 10: The Reunion
Setting: The Spaceport Hangar.
You make it back to your ship, but standing in front of the boarding ramp are three familiar faces: Tom, Mike, and Jax—your old janitorial and maintenance buddies from The Citadel who managed to survive the blast.
Player Choices:
Option 1: "Come with me and help me defeat the radiation."
Result:They look at each other, tired of running. "We're tired of scavenging. Let's fix the galaxy." Tom and Mike join your squad as permanent companions, giving you fire support and extra protection.
Option 2: "How come you didn't defend me a year ago?’
Result: They get defensive and angry. "We were trying not to get shot, Finley! And now you're judging us?" Out of spite, Jax tosses a plasma grenade into your ship's engine core, destroying your only ticket off the planet. **[GAME OVER]**
Option 3: [Give them the extra clothes from Act 6] "Here, you'll fit in better with these."
* *Result:* They are touched by your kindness. "Wow, thanks man. Come on in, we've got some space-rations cooking." Over a dinner of roasted **bovimorph meat**, you pitch your grand plan to clean up the galaxy. Inspired, they enthusiastically join your crew.
You all board the ship and set a course for the nearest infected planet: **Mirs-9**.
Act 11: The Cleansing of Mirs and dayton
Setting: The swampy, toxic wilderness of Planet Mirs-9, followed by the urban ruins of Planet Dayton.
Mirs-9: The moment the ship ramp drops, a massive horde of swamp-mutants rushes you. Luckily, you have a squad now. Tom and Mike lay down suppressing fire while you use your upgraded plasma-mop to dissolve the toxic green sludge pools polluting the soil. With teamwork, Mirs-9 is completely cleansed.
Dayton: Next is the metropolis of Dayton. The scale is too big for one team. You devise a tactical plan: Tom and Mike take a heavy rover to clear the south side of the city. You and your chosen partner (Jax) head north. You fight through infested skyscrapers, clearing out nests of the undead until the planet's atmospheric purifiers are turned back on.
Act 12: The Source of the Mutation
Setting: The ruined, hollowed-out remnants of The Citadel—now known simply as “The Dead Machine”
This is where it all started. The entire space station/planetoid is a twisted wasteland of green energy, crawling with hundreds of thousands of Glow-Walkers wandering the frozen trenches.
Player Choices:
Option 1: Leave the planet alone.
Result: You decide it's too dangerous and fly away. [Cutscene] A few years pass in peace. However, a wandering mutant on the surface stumbles into the control room and accidentally falls onto the master switch. The machine fires a second, ultimate pulse. With no one left to stop it, the entire galaxy is instantly transformed. [BAD ENDING]
Option 2: Fight for a cause you believe in, even if it's hard.
Result: "We finish this today," you say. You steer the ship straight into the heart of the beast. Proceed to Act 13.
Act 13: The Ultimate Showdown
Setting: The Skies and Main Deck of the Superweapon.
You and your friends meet up on the main landing pad. The final battle begins. Lasers are flying everywhere—but this time, you aren't alone. The survivors from Dayton and Mirs-9 have flown in to back you up, forming a defensive ring against the endless horde.
Defensive Mechanic:The mutants begin sprinting toward your ship, climbing on top of each other to form a grotesque “zombie ladder” to reach your hull. As the pilot, you have to constantly check your perimeter and use the ship's thrusters to blow them away before they swarm the roof.
Suddenly, the ground shakes. A massive, towering figure bursts from the reactor core. It’s Mutant Vance. He didn't die a year ago; he embraced the radiation, mutating into a giant, hulking behemoth of green flesh and decayed armor.
The Final Boss Battle: You take control of the ship's heavy, modified Hull-Mounted Thermal Cannons
Gameplay:Vance leaps through the air, trying to smash your ship with his giant mutated fists. You must fly, dodge his massive swings, and counter-attack by blasting him with continuous fire.
The Stakes: A health bar appears: Ship Integrity. If Vance manages to strike your ship 5 times, the weapon shatters, the ship crashes into the reactor, and the horde overwhelms you.
With a final, sustained blast of fire, Mutant Vance dissolves into ash, falling into the reactor core. You activate the self-destruct mechanism on the machine, sprint to the cockpit, and blast off into space just as the entire planetoid explodes in a brilliant, cleansing white light—curing the galaxy's radiation once and for all.
Finley looks at his mop, smiles, and finally takes a well-deserved break.
Act 14: The Epilogue – The New Dawn
Setting: A montage of static-filled monitors narration, detailing the consequences of your choices.
your choices throughout the journey dictate the fate of the galaxy:
> "And so, the Janitor who swept the stars finally put down his mop..."
>
If you saved your friends (Tom, Mike, Jax):"With your old crew by your side, a new Galactic Sanitation Department was formed, ensuring the galaxy stayed bright, clean, and free of tyranny."
If you sided with the Rust-Raiders in Act 9:"Though the radiation was cured, the Raiders ruled the outer rim with an iron fist, using your modified plasma technology to extort peaceful colonies."
If you used non-lethal methods:"Finley became a legend—the ghost in the night who cleaned up the mess without ever taking a life."
Key Mechanics:
1.Crafting / Junk Economy: Everything has weight and value. A broken pipe can be combined with a plasma battery to make a *Plasma-Pressure Washer*.
2.Environmental Hazard:The "Glow" (Radiation). Standing near green sludge fills a meter; if it tops out, you start mutating, gaining weird perks (e.g., *Glowing Skin: +Light in dark areas, -10% Stealth*).
### Overseer Vance’s Broadcast: "The Dawn of Order"
"Citizens of the Core worlds. Soldiers of the Iron Vanguard.
Look upon the galaxy we have inherited. What do you see? I will tell you. You see a grand tapestry fraying at the edges. You see a lawless expanse rotted by endless debate, fractured by petty factions, and paralyzed by the illusion of freedom. For centuries, the planets have bled in chaos, crying out for a hand strong enough to guide them. Crying out for a force to save them from themselves!
Today, we answer that cry...The local governments call us tyrants. They call our discipline cruelty. But they are blind! They cling to the ashes of a dying era, too weak to take the step that survival demands. We are not here to merely conquer the galaxy—we are here to *cure* it.
Beneath our feet lies the culmination of our resolve. The World-Breaker is not a weapon of destruction. It is an instrument of cosmic surgery! With a single, glorious strike, we will sever the fractured systems of the old world. We will purge the defiance, the dissent, and the decay that has plagued our stars for generations!..Let the stars tremble. Let the weak-willed weep for their outdated ways.chine will tear through the cosmos not as a shadow, but as a blinding, undeniable light! From the remnants of their collapse, a unified empire will rise—one voice, one vision, one unbreakable order!....The countdown has begun. The old galaxy ends today... and the dawn of the Iron Vanguard begins now! FIRE!"
"I need to stop this NOW!!"
Make something epic like image this you are in a big boss fight with the main villain, and ask yourself what does that sound like in a song?
*Say something you think would fit*
We have the main character: finely and the main villain and finally the background characters
*Say something you think would fit*
Once I get the character designs I will send them to you and you can animate them and make a like little mini game for testing
