Project Overview

Hey, this is TheDragonwing9, creator of the SSBU Machinima series "BIG dreams die hard!". Due to the first short, which will also be the proper pilot of the series, still taking a bit, I have decided to make a more or less unrelated short with a little less editing effort put in, since I won´t be needing the help of my editor for this.

It will be focused on Minato, the protagonist of Persona 3. It features only a handful of characters but all quite different in the way they act. I really do not have much more to say. It is a fairly straight forward story of Minato meeting his two best friends Yukari and Junpei while encountering a strange appearance of shadows in the Smashverse. The Persona characters are portrayed rather similiarly to their original counterparts, though perhaps with exaggerated traits at times.

Be aware that there is some minor swearing involved. However, only for Minato and Yu. I am also prepared to voice one or more of the male characters myself if I prefer my take on the character. If you apply, you should also be available within the next couple of days.

The same applies here as with my other projects, to compensate you will be given credit and I will link your social media in the description if you want me to.

My decisions here will be made quite quickly most likely since the voice acting is pretty much the only thing I still need. With that being said, I hope for some good applications and have a nice day!

  • Due to a recast being in order, the Casting Call is reopened

    Unexpected lack of cooperation from my Minato VA (aka going completely silent, not reacting to any of my messages after giving me the contact information for multiple days past the deadline) leads to me now being in need of a replacement. Therefore, the Casting Call is reopened and I hope to find a suitable one until then. It will only be up for three days or even just until I find one person I really like for the role. Please be prepared for that. The sooner a replacement can be found and the lines delivered, the better since it will help me to finally get into proper edting, hopefully finishing the video some time rather soon. The people who had auditioned for the role before will also be considered once more. I don´t think anything more needs to be said, so I will just wish you all a good day!

    It was a close call on some roles, but I am happy with the choices I made. To everyone who got cast, congratulations and I´ll be awaiting your contact info so I can send you the lines! To everyone who didn´t get cast, don´t worry I can assure you that your audition was not bad. Your competition may have just had better mic quality or a specific feature of their voice made me prefer them for the role. There is always next time. Thank you guys, anyway. As for Junpei, I will be vocing him myself from the looks of things. I had already recorded his lines just in case. Though I need to add something for the credits still since it was more of an afterthought to have Junpei and Yu there watching them. I hope that part is going to turn out alright. And please be patient with the editing. It just so happens that I upgraded my editing software yesterday and I still have to figure some things out, especially in the effect department. Anyway, I look forward to working with you all. In order to save time, it would be nice if I don´t have to ask you how you would like to be credited and what social media links you want me to add in the description, if any. Please just tell me either with the contact info or as soon as I have send you the lines (or you send me the recordings). It really only is about convenience.     I will still be accepting auditions until 6pm CET. Then the decisions will be made. Once you notice that you got the role, please send me your contact info (Discord is preferred if you have it, Twitter or E-Mail are some good alternatives though). I will be giving everyone a 3 day deadline. If you cannot make it within that time frame, please let me know and I will give you extra time depending on how much you will need. The footage is all recorded and a good chunk of the video already prepared. So as soon as I have all the lines, I hope to publish it a couple of days from then to my YouTube channel. Minato is the protagonist of Persona 3. While he does not care about much of anything, which should be reflected in his voice, his friends are quite important to him. He is obviously this short's main character and will have the most lines. That is why, despite sounding really bored and rarely showing any emotion, his voice should still be reasonable to listen to for a couple of sentences at once.

I have no real preference in regards to the pitch, but it should probably not be too high. Again, try to show little emotion.

Yu is the Protagonist of Persona 4. He is the leader of the investigation team and a little more lively compared to Minato. However, he is not the type to talk much despite that. The voice should be that of a young adult, a reasonably wise detective. His overall role in this Machinima is not big, but he is certainly part of the plot. Due to him becoming possessed by a shadow, Minato has to fight him to make him snap out of it. A filter in order to reflect that is highly recommended. I will be giving you a line of possessed Yu in order to have you try this part.

I would like his voice to be mid to low pitched.

The Inkling Girl is really just a reference to Futaba since Minato meets her at Cafe Leblanc. She is easily excitable and should act rather friendly and fan girlish for the most part.

Because of it, her voice should be rather high pitched, similiar to Futaba even when possible.

Yukari is... Yukari, really. She is a typical girl that usually tries to hide her true feelings and gets flustered easily when around Minato. However, she can give him a good scolding if she deems it necessary. I would like her voice to reflect that.
