Hello everyone! Welcome to Spirit Bound! This is a fantasy story created by me in a completely original world with its own unique and complex magic system. It's a story that I've been working on for years at this point, and I would finally like to adapt it and show the story off to the world by way of an audio drama. This casting call is just for the pilot to get things off the ground. After the pilot airs there will be another casting call for the entirety of the first season. As such, in each role I will be listing not only the character's importance in the pilot, but also their importance throughout the first season. This will be displayed at the bottom of each role saying their pilot role and their series role. It will be described as Extra (background or just a line or two), Minor (More than a few lines but really don't do much), Major (They talk a lot, but maybe aren't important in everything), and lead (They will have many lines in almost every episode.) As stated in the description , the payment of this project is deferred. In this case that means that I do not have the money to pay any voice actors right now, but if this story were to get to the point where it is making any money, I am more than willing to pay the actors for their work. Before we get into what Spirit Bound actually is I would just like to clarify one thing. For this project, I have already written out the entire script and edited it, meaning that if you sign up you don't have to worry about the project not finishing or having work for you, I have done everything big that has to be done before voice actors can record the script. This means if you are cast, you could get recording the day after! Without further ado, this is Spirit Bound the Audio Drama.
thousands of years ago, all people in the world were without magic. There was no bloodshed, no war, just society trying to survive. But then... for reasons lost to time, magic made its way into the world. This magic was based on the personality of the person using it. It was found that people that shared similar personalities shared similar magical powers. After years of research, the world had settled, and it became known that there were 20 different types of magic in the world that one could possess. Seven of these were based on sinful traits, being Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Wrath, and Pride. Another seven were based on virtuous traits, being Hope, Fortitude, Temperance, Faith, Justice, Prudence, and Charity. Finally, there were the 6 combination types, found in people that had combinations of the other 14 personality traits, dubbed Love, Deceit, Hate, Transparency, Restraint, and Curse. Everyone who existed had one of these 20 different types of magic, and all people with the same type of magic had the same powers. However, everyone also had a few types of magic that were unique to them. These were two spells called the Unique Ability and Magic Weapon. Unique Abilities and Magic weapons were capable of practically anything, from a magic weapon that was a sword capable of cutting holes in reality, to unique abilities which could cause someone to only ever feel sadness. The possibilities were endless, and led to the current system of magic that exists today.
This leads to the story of Spirit Bound. Actually, it's two stories in the same place at different times. The past side takes place about a thousand years before present time in a continent called Luxen. Luxen is split into 21 different nations, with each nation being ruled by the strongest individual of a certain type of magic. The final nation was ruled by the person considered to be strongest magic user across Luxen, and was considered ruler of the whole continent. This past story tells the tale of a man named Edmund Farelyn, a peasant who grew up with a heart of fire and a desire to change the world. He and his best friend Volker Wulf witness the cruelty of the current queen, Astrid Kinellas, and vow that by any means necessary her reign of terror must be ended.
The second story, known as the Future Side takes place in present day. Edmund Farelyn has become the king of Luxen after the events of the Past Side, but for some reason, he's just as cruel as Astrid was before him, if not worse. With tension at an all time high and constant rebellion, the very structure of Luxen is falling apart, and Edmund lacks any ability to stop it, forced to fight his hardest as different corners of the world rise up in hopes of creating a new world order, not just taking it over like he had done before.
These stories are to swap episode by episode. The pilot episode takes place in the Future Side, and then once it is out Episode 2 will take place in the Past Side. These episodes are going to alternate, and they will mostly have a vastly different cast of characters from each other.

However, the story of Spirit Bound has war, torture, and a decent level of gore. On the sexual side there is nothing more than a few suggestive noises. I just feel it is important to clarify exactly the extent of the nsfw content for any interested parties so you know what you're getting into. Anyway, that should be all of the information you need! I've been blown away by the amount of submissions this project has gotten, but I feel like there may be a part of the project that is confusing and may have led to some people auditioning who otherwise wouldn't have. It's described in the description, but I will say it again here.
The payment given on this project is dependent on the outcome of it, which is why it's listed as deferred payment. If this got 10 million views and made 10,000$ absolutely all of you will be compensated fairly. However, if this project does not make money, I do not have much money to dole out to the voice actors and other people on this project.

Hey there! This is an update for current and future auditioners! In all likelihood, I am not going to be locking in any roles until a few days before the deadline. So if you aren't locked in for the role, don't get discouraged or think you aren't good enough, just know that I am trying to wait for as many people as possible to have a chance before locking in! For each episode, there will be background images shown for a few scenes. In general I expect to need about three pieces of art per episode to show made over the course of a month. For this role just send in work that includes characters and backgrounds.

Edmund Farelyn is the King of all the lands in Spirit Bound and the protagonist of the show as a whole. In the Future Side story, he is cruel, megalomaniacal, narcissistic, and has a god complex. He believes himself superior to all beings and won't take disrespect from anyone. In the Past Side story he is kind-hearted, righteous, stubborn, and still has an air of arrogance to him. Whoever plays him must be able to portray the anger and cockiness of a regal man, as well as the joking and sarcastic nature of a cocky warrior. I imagine him as having a voice that is normally very calm and a bit on the higher side but can also be made to be deep and commanding when the moment calls for it.

SECOND LINE BECAUSE OF CCC LIMIT: (Spoken in a voice that's full of regret, growing in anger as he speaks): The day she came to power we both swore it'd never come to this. So why... why are you making me do this!
(Starting in a calm and stern tone, ending in a commanding shout) When under my leadership, there has only ever been one golden rule. To obey. To give the man who lost everything to bring you into this age of prosperity enough respect that you'd obey his commands!
The narrator is omniscient and knows all that is happening in the minds of all characters in the story. She mostly speaks with a calm and unbiased tone, but there are times when they get more serious or more lighthearted. I imagine her voice on the deeper side, being very calm and articulate.

(Spoken in a serious and ominous manner) They were now forced to face the consequences of unleashing such pure unfiltered power around themselves.
(Spoken in a neutral and unbiased tone) In front of the king was a sight of blood splattered all across the room. What was normally a very clean and proper room was now akin to a murder scene, with blood staining the carpet, bedsheets, and the door he had just entered through.
Give a paragraph talk in a neutral narrator voice on a silly topic, you can be creative, reading something that already exists or something you make up.
Ericet, known as the Laughing Butcher in the Future Side of Luxen has a wide-ranging personality. She has lived longer than nearly any member of the cast, and her lifespan has slowly broken down her mind. In the Future Side she is chaotic, playful, Sadistic, and only ever serious if things look grim for her. In the past side she is an extremely shy and quiet girl, who tries to stay clear of most conflict. Her voice has a decently high pitch to it, but it can be on the lower side so long as the chaotic emotions can be portrayed correctly.

Give me your absolute most deranged psychotic evil laugh you can muster. It should last at least 10 seconds.
Maruin is the leader of a small rebellion against Edmund. He wants to attack and take him out to instate himself as the new king of Luxen. He is everything a young warrior is expected to be. He's cocky, confident, joking, and strong. He's basically a foil to the past version of Edmund. His voice just is something that should get across the arrogance and overconfidence that he has inside him.

(Spoken in a smug and arrogant tone) Oh calm it down, I just took a stop at your sister's place. Thought I'd give her a gift from the new king of Luxen you know?
(Start speaking calm and turn to rage by the end) If there is any justice in this world... then you will fall tonight.... by my hand!
(Spoken in a calm and stern tone) You should know how important it is we aren't caught tonight... especially me.
Yuran is the right-hand man to Maruin. He is completely trusting of his tactics and believes he should be the king of Luxen whole-heartedly. He acts as the heart of their group, inspiring the warriors and giving them hope. You can take some freedoms with his voice, as long as it keeps the impression of a confident and inspiring person.

(Spoken in a hopeful and inspiring manner) Let's hear it for the new King of Luxen! Maruin the Reclaimer!
(Spoken in a sad but hopeful manner) Maruin... noone deserves to be forgotten, you aren't an exception.
(Shouting trying to calm people down) Comrades calm down! The plan is still sound! Whether or not he knows it's coming if we were relying on the element of surprise we wouldn't have gathered you all in the first place!
Alpina Armana is a princess of the nation of Love Magic and is the personal hitwoman of Edmund Farelyn. She is extremely strong and switches often between serious and unserious. She won't hesitate to insult or belittle people she sees herself as above, but when a situation calls for it, she knows how to be serious and execute a plan. She believes herself superior to most people and loves teasing and messing with others when the situation isn't serious. I imagine her voice as being medium to medium-high pitched, while having a well-spoken and proper tone to it.

(Spoken in a confident and snarky manner) If she had been bested we both know I'd have done it myself, so what does it matter how long it took?
(Spoken in a knowing manner, being smug and playful) Oh she's in her chambers trying to recover... why do you ask?
(Spoken in a completely serious tone, being calm and almost sultry) Now... end this pitiful display of combat and kill yourself.
A group of rebels lead by Maruin and Yuran. All of them are men and they are all boisterous, loud, and arrogant. There are only a few spoken lines across them all, but they will have miscellaneous lines in the background.
Give me a hearty and powerful laugh
(Worried and Annoyed) The hell! You can't possibly expect us to go along with something that could clearly be a trap!
(Shouting Anger) That's right! If he knows we're coming, we can't get a clean kill! It'll be suicide!
Random extras throughout the pilot. They are mostly in a terrified crowd for this episode. Can be male or female, and will portray a variety of emotions.
(In fear) W-what is he doing! What is that!
(Desperate) Please stop this my king!
Just say some random chatter a few sentences long, try to show some emotion.
