Sonic X Advanced Wave 1
Project Overview
Sonic X Advanced is a Mario & Sonic fan project inspired by the original Sonic X show and comics as well as the Mario & Luigi RPGs, taking place in an alternate timeline of Sonic X years after Sonic and friends' adventures on Earth and a year after the timeline's events of Sonic Forces.
The world had almost fully recovered from the damage caused by the Phantom Ruby; Sonic and his friends had returned to their normal adventures of fighting against the nefarious Dr. Eggman and keeping the Chaos Emeralds out of his clutches, with the effects of the war still lingering within each one of them. The peace doesn't last long though, as they get themselves in a situation; heroes and villains from another world have ended up in their location, seemingly without any explanation. Even the otherworldly travelers don't fully understand what's going on. Now Sonic and his friends must help Mario, Luigi, and their new Mushroom Kingdom allies by getting to the bottom of this mystery and returning them home.

Miles "Tails" Prower is Sonic the Hedgehog's best friend and adoptive little brother. He assists Sonic during his battles against Dr. Eggman. The Three Months War (Sonic Forces) has left Tails stressed, working harder than he ever did on his tech. Thankfully, he has Cream The Rabbit to help with his test runs, who he started to develop feelings for.
Tails in this continuity/universe is in his late teens, roughly between 16-18; his past self in flashbacks is a child.

(Questioning) Cream said you looked worse for wear when she found you…what caused you to receive such injuries?
Knuckles The Echidna is a former Resistance leader, the guardian of the Master Emerald, and friendly rival of Sonic The Hedgehog. While he spends most of his time on Angel Island guarding said emerald, he joins in on the hedgehog's various adventures. The loner-turned-leader still has the burden of lost soldiers on his shoulders, which has affected his soft-shelled heart.
Knuckles in this continuity/universe is in his mid-to-late 20s.

Amy Rose is a former Resistance leader, Sonic The Hedgehog's self-proclaimed love interest and childhood friend. She knew Sonic in their early years when he used to go by "Nicky", and has been adventuring at his side since the events on Little Planet. Her friendship with Cream The Rabbit has been somewhat rocky since The Three Month War (Sonic Forces).
Amy in this continuity/universe is in her mid-20s, like Sonic.

(Reassuring) We all did, Sonic…but it seems like he’s still dead set on his plans to take over. At least we have the Restoration as a buffer against his new schemes.

Cream The Rabbit is a Hero-In-Training, a new Chaos Emerald energy user and Miles "Tails" Prower's best friend. The loss of her chao, Cheese impacted her deeply; emotionally, mentally, and even physically. Now imbued with the energy of her former Chao friend and with training from Shadow The Hedgehog, she plans to use her newfound strength to protect everyone she holds dear via supportive and defensive measures. She's also gotten closer to Tails over the course of their adventures.
Cream in this continuity/universe in the present is in her late teens, roughly 16-18 like Tails; her past self in flashbacks is a child.

(Sadden) He was worse for wear when I found him too…I tried to heal him with my Chaos energy.
Vanilla The Rabbit is Cream The Rabbit's mother. She didn't mind her daughter going out on adventures with Sonic The Hedgehog until the war happened. Now she's extremely worried for her well-being as she's afraid of losing her too. She sews and bakes in her free time, and tends to reminisce about her days as a more rebellious teen. She offers shelter to the Mario Brothers during their time on their planet.
Vanilla in this continuity/universe is in her mid-to-late 30s.

Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is the self-proclaimed world's greatest scientist with an IQ of 300. Sonic The Hedgehog and his allies have thwarted his plots for world domination for years, with each defeat making him more and more desperate; the only question remaining is if he's willing to skirt what few morals he has left to finally build his empire.
Dr. Eggman in this continuity is in his 60s.

(Confident) Of course it was! I wanted to lure you there so I could get your Chaos Emerald. Can’t advance my current plans for a glorious empire without them.
Decoe is a golden tall and lanky humanoid robot who personally assists Dr. Eggman in his conquest for world domination. He works in tandem with Bocoe in the doctor's various plots to defeat Sonic The Hedgehog, though they hold no ill-will towards the hedgehog, nor his friends. While originally very clumsy, absent-minded and stupid due to his old ridged programming, Dr. Eggman has since then upgraded Decoe, giving him better combat performance with close-quarter weaponry, and a higher sense of intelligence, snark and attitude (though is still prone to screwing up).

Bocoe is a silver short and bulky humanoid robot who personally assists Dr. Eggman in his conquest for world domination. He works in tandem with Decoe in the doctor's various plots to defeat Sonic The Hedgehog, though they hold no ill-will towards the hedgehog, nor his friends. While originally very clumsy, absent-minded and stupid due to his old ridged programming, Dr. Eggman has since then upgraded Bocoe, giving him better combat performance with ranged weaponry, and a higher sense of intelligence, cunningness, and level-headedness (though is still prone to screwing up).

(Afraid): We’re trying to find the doctor so we can report to him!
(Annoyed) We got our shiny metal chassis handed to us by a teenage rabbit; how could it have gone any worse?!
Shadow The Hedgehog is the ultimate lifeform designed by Dr. Eggman's grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik. He fights for his own sense of justice, which has led to him bashing heads with Sonic The Hedgehog and his allies on numerous occasions. Once he learned of Cream The Rabbit's newfound powers, he helped train her to better herself as a fighter.

Rouge The Bat is a former G.U.N. agent and current Restoration agent. Most of Rouge's history remains a mystery, but she's a few things people do know about her; she's a strong and brave independent thief with ambitious goals, a playful devil-may-care attitude, and a massive sense of greed and narcissism. She tends to work with Shadow The Hedgehog and E-123 Omega under the moniker Team Dark.Voice

Yoshi, full name T. Yoshisaur Muchakoopas, is one of Mario's closest friends and allies. Born on Yoshi's Island as part of the Munchakoopa tribe, Yoshi first got to know Mario and Luigi after they saved him from his eggy prison Kamek casted on him, and since then he's been helping the brothers since. Known for his fast feet, precise egg throwing precision, and a large appetite, Yoshi brings his skills to the table whenever danger's afoot.
While his age is unknown, Yoshi is known to have childish antics from time to time.

(Sad) I wish Mario and Luigi were here about now...
(Pleased) Now this is my kind of day right here...relaxing, taking in the sun while munching on some fruit.
Kamek Wizenheimer is King Bowser Koopa's royal adviser and the highest ranking member of the Koopa Troop. He is a powerful wizard willing to do anything to please his master, assisting him or his son, Bowser Jr. in their schemes of princess kidnappings or whatever seems to be on the agenda for the week.
Kamek's implied to be elderly.

Bowser Jr. is the Prince of the Dark Lands, and the son of King Bowser Koopa. Bowser Jr. often assists in his father's villainous antics, but he can feel that something is wrong with him this time around... He's quite intelligent and just as bold and energetic as his father, but easygoing, and much more friendly. While Junior consistently fights the Mario Brothers daily to please his father, the young turtle prince has a mutual respect for Giovanni and sees him as an equal.
Bowser Jr. in this continuity is in his teens, about 14-15.

(Serious) I don't know what's going on with Papa, but something isn't right with him. ...There's only one person I know who could help me.
Beatrice "Bea" Bunny is a former member of Phantom Squad, a special task force who worked directly under the highest officials at the Resistance, where she served as its second-in-command and invented the first Wispon prototypes. After witnessing Sonic The Hedgehog's defeat at the hands of Infinite and Dr. Starline, she joined the Resistance to help others unite against Starline's army and take back their world. However, she soon retired a bit after the war was over as she saw herself unfit to lead the group following the disappearance of "Gadget", the original leader of the Phantom Squad. The hotheaded tinkerer also has a yellow Wisp companion named "Bumble", and the two are practically inseparable.
Beatrice is roughly in her early 20s.

(Annoyed) Are all you humans this stubborn and barbaric?
(Serious) Restoration HQ, come in; this is Bea of Phantom Squad. We need backup, I repeat; WE NEED BACKUP!
Giovanni Bernardi is a human who works as a janitor at Mushroom Castle, and is the adoptive son of Toadsworth. Giovanni is seen by his peers as heroic and polite, but oddly cold and brutal to those who cross him. Cursed at birth by an ancient evil known as "The Dark Star", Giovanni was gifted with the powers manipulate dark matter, allowing him to create shadow clones, mimic the Star Children's elemental powers, and a dark aura that enhances his strength and nullifies most attacks. These powers come with a trade-off; they only activate when the user is enraged and they slowly drive the user into a state of insanity. Giovanni has joined Mario and Luigi in several of their adventures over the years, and even had some of his own, and is seen a powerful and reliable ally. He's also quite the handyman with machines and pilots the Sky Pop, a plane once owned by Mario.
Giovanni is roughly in his earlier 20s.

Princess Peach Toadstool is the current monarch of the Mushroom Kingdom. Known for her sweet and kind nature, she rules her kingdom with concern and compassion for her subjects, though she's known for having a more adventurous side. While she has been captured by Bowser several times over the years, she doesn't back down without a fight and has joined Mario on a few of his adventures as well, proving her worth on the field.
Peach is in late 20s, early 30s.

(Conflicted) ...This world feels so strange. Yet, it's similar to our own in more ways than I could imagine.
