Hello friends! We're looking for new buddies to help restart our studio and start a new project! Sonic: Varsity Collection is an animatic-styled animated series about a universe in which Sonic wears a varsity jacket (as well as a TON of other changes!). We're currently looking for fellas willing to help with concept art, voice acting, and the animatics themselves! All work is volunteer, so if you'd like to work for more than the dreaded exposure, then you'd have to come back another time (possibly when I get the motivation to do the studio's original game!), but if you just wanna hang out and help out, then feel free to throw in an audition or a portfolio and see what sticks! And don't be afraid to audition for parts you don't think you're up to, or throw in work you think is mediocre! After all, you are your own worst critic, so you're probably far better than you think!
As a side note, please include your discord in your audition. If you're not comfy disclosing it publicly, then that's fine! I'll just need you to DM it to me if you get in.
A few notes. First, this project allows swearing, some characters doing so more than others. For example, Sonic has a strict no-swearing rule, while Eggman (red eyes) swears every sentence when possible.
Sonic himself! The blue blur everybody knows and loves!
Now, if you're a deep Sonic fan, you might be asking me: Which one? Am I looking for Drummond Sonic? Rodger Craig Smith Sonic? Jaleel White?? Now, the answer to that is sort of unexpected. Ysee, the ideal voice I have for this version of Sonic is actually Penny Parker, the voice actress from the Snapcube channel that plays Sonic in the famous Real-Time Fandubs series (and Sonic Destruction!). It's gotta be my favorite out of all the Sonic voices I've heard.
But, that's not /fully/ a requirement. If you think you've got a better idea for a Sonic voice to still be recognizable but work for a teenaged, 15 year old hedgehog, then feel free to pitch it!
[impatient] "Can't I at /least/ be a waiter so I can run around and stretch my legs while she does the boring royalty stuff!
[optimistic] "I could take you home with me! We've got plenty of places to sleep that's WAY more comfy than an old plane!"
[confident] "You're talking to Sonic! Sonic the hedgehog! And this hedgehog's gonna break all your oversized action figures and get his mom back!"
The Eggman!! Well,,, only half of him. See, Eggman has two modes. Blue eyes is when his goggles are blue, and he's a lot calmer, but just as chaotic. On contrast to Sonic himself, this Eggman is a pottymouth, although not as much as when he's red eyes mode.
The ideal voice here is something similar to modern Eggman, something like Mike Pollock, or even Arion Rashad's impression (the creator of Sonic Villains).
Fun fact, this universe's design for Eggman is the picture for Voice Actors!
[irritated] "You're /not/ scared of me? Well of course you're not! You haven't seen what I can /do to you/!"
[confused] "Why is that hedgehog blue. Wh. Why is it blue. Who made it blu-WHY is the hedgehog blue?"
[confident] "Greetings, my good bitch! This is the part where you die!"
I feel bad for the throat of whoever wants to be this one. Eggman part two, except this time, he's even more unhinged! Meet red eyes Eggman, for when Eggman goes COMPLETELY off the rails! This voice is less canon, in my head it's more akin to the famous Alfred Coleman (yknow eggman's announcement? thank him). If you have a better idea for Eggman when he cracks, go ahead and propose it!
HOWEVER, /PLEASE/ only audition if your throat can handle screaming as the default, I don't want to wreck anybody ;0;

[angry, escalating in intensity] "I have HAD ENOUGH OF THAT HEDGEHOG, I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THE JOKES, YOU WANT YOUR EGGMAN!? //I'LL BE YOUR EGGMAN!!//"
[maniacal]"AND AFTER I PLOW YOUR STUPID BUILDING INTO A DIRT MOUND, I'M GOING TO BUILD A GODDAMN AMUSEMENT PARK ON TOP OF YOUR GRAVE! WHY!? BECAUSE I /CAN/!"
Yes, this project has OCs! Meet Dr. Ruby, the human member of GUN that took over Robotnik's position after his attempted murder. She's a cold woman, very stern and very stubborn. No specific voice is in mind, so go wild with this villain lady!
[irritated] "Stone, enough of your blabbering. We have work to do."
[interested] "So he's alive..?"
[angry] "We don't need to 'get him back', agent Stone, we need to get rid of him because we failed the last time!"
Tails, baby boy Supreme! While he does gain a spine eventually, for now, this poor little foxy is scared out of his mind. Tails is nervous, terrified of everything, and stutters often. If you can give me Anxiety Fox then kudos to you!
Also, fun fact, he's on the cover of all artist roles!
[afraid, stuttering] "Please don't tell anybody I'm here, sir..."
[content] "I've got my plane! It's a little cramped, but if I roll up like a donut, I fit fine!"
[amazed] "This is such a big place..it's so pretty, a-and the bed is so comfy, and [about to cry], and, and I get to stay here?"
You'll be helping out with concept art and thumbnails! We'd prefer a sonic-y artstyle of some kind!

Robotnik's Twink (tm). You know him, you love him, the beloved agent from the movie is here in Varsity Collection! Here, he's the distressed partner of our favorite egg shaped villain, as well as good friend and henchman of Dr. Ruby. His voice doesn't have a set one, but I would VERY much prefer a POC actor for it!
[shocked, happy] "Ivo?"
[professional] "Actually, Dr. Ruby, I think you should see this."
[stressed, stuttering] "I can fix him, I can bring him back to us and convince him to stop attacking--stop talking over me-I'M TRYING TO HELP!"
OWL MOM EVERYBODY'S BELOVED! She's here too! Sonic's trainer, and a retired mobius knight. Her voice is very maternal and stern, far more mature than Aleena is, since she's older.
[impressed] "That's 2.25 seconds faster than your record!"
[amused] "Sally's your sister now, so you have to support her."
[worried] "I know you don't want to, but there's no other way. If you go to save them while empty handed, he will just use you as a battery."
THEY MADE A VOW, THEIR MOTHER WILL BE featured in Sonic: Varsity Collection! Meet Queen Aleena, the mother of Sonic and wife of Nigel Acorn. She's a young woman who used to be a prophet, so is used to being professional, but not at all used to being royalty. Her voice radiates kindness and selflessness.
[giggling] "And to think, I used to have daughters!"
[relieved] "Longclaw has just informed me that Sonic is procrastinating again. [amused] I should have expected that."
[defeated] "I will go. I have..the most chaos out of the family. I will be the most useful."
Everybody's second favorite green trash! Manic's the twin brother of Sonic, and a very strange prophet. Do any voice you think would work for him, it's to to you! Tone-wise, he is even less professional than Sonic.
[pretending to sound guilty] "I'm sorry, I'll clean up the ravioli can that I slam dunked in the throne room"
[excited] "At least we get snacks!"
[scared, stuttering] "Wait, mom, you can't let this bozo take you away!"
The final hedgehog triplet! Sonia is a far better prophet than Manic, and far less likely to make a mess. Her voice is mostly put together, with that hint of nervousness like her mother, and hint of leadership like her new stepsister, Sally.
[worried] "Today's cards weren't good, but I couldn't remember what they mean exactly. I'll have to ask mom."
[excited] "It's like a real coronation! And in one year, it probably will be!"
[angry] "I don't know WHO you think you are, but nobody threatens my mom! Or my step dad!"
You'll help me out by writing scenes in the script!

The Acorn Princess! A workaholic of one, too. Royalty stresses her out, and, aside from her stern tone and calm attitude, still manages to shine through her voice.
[bothered] "Can somebody tell Manic to clean up his mess?"
[concerned] "Won't he be late for the practice coronation?"
[panicked, frantic] "FATHER!!"
The Acorn King! A kind, but professional man, far more used to royal life than his wife, and far more put together, but doesn't mind loosening up a bit for Aleena.
[amused] "Oh that boy. I have no idea how you dealt with him, Aleena."
[nervous] "He must be too busy showing that fox boy around to come. We aren't going to have to do this without him, will we?"
[trying to stay calm, failing] "Aleena, you can't-- [getting grabbed]-AH!"
I am making it a point to make all Sonic moms canon somehow. Meet Bernadette, the personal knight of Queen Aleena and resident woman liker. She's more nervous than Nigel, but more put together than Aleena at the same time.
[flustered, stuttering] "Miss Aleena you're too kind.."
[enthusiastic] "Of course he can stay! If your mother doesn't mind!"
[defeated, grieving] "Miss Aleena.. I'm so sorry Miss Aleena oh dear..."
Three GUN agents that show up in the opening scene. Very minor parts, they probably die in the end, but still needed. 1 is very airheaded, 2 is a cocky jokester, and 3 is the only one there who's taking this seriously.
1: [nervous]"What do you think is in there?" [oblivious] "Wait, really?"
2: [joking] "Your mom lol" [confident] "Whatever's in there, it probably doesn't have guns like us."
3: [irritated] "Take this more seriously! There could be danger in there!" [cautious, confused] "What need would you have for a living agent?"
