Casting Call #1

Introduction:
Hello VAs and artists! Thank you for taking the time to look through our casting call for my project “SkySpirit”, I appreciate your consideration. Below are the rules, explanations for how to audition and send your lines/singing sample/pieces, as well as lines for the VAs and lyrics for the singers among other important information. I know, it’s a lot (depending on the section), but it’s important you read everything. You’re auditioning for a part in my production.
Please read everything carefully, check your submissions, and recheck this document before sending. Be sure to only submit in one way via email or casting call, not both. If you audition for multiple sections, have one email per. Thank you and good luck!
Voice Audition Rules:Quality Mic / Recording
You must have decent mic quality. We don’t want to hear background noise or a low quality to your recording. We especially don’t want to hear peaking, popping, excessive static or background noise, or audio being too quiet to hear (for those who don’t have pop filters, tilt the mic to the side slightly or speak into it from the side somewhat), this will affect your chances, these are very easy things to fix. If you don’t have decent quality, you will not even be considered. Make sure nothing is touching your mic while recording, nothing is able to touch or tap around while recording, things like this. If you don’t have a decent mic, but can clean it to sound decent enough or better that it is, let us know. DO NOT edit audio for the audition, let us know or send a separate file with the clean audio.
Discord
We highly prefer you have this. If you don’t have one, make one. It’s a lot better than Skype and has a lot of good qualities Skype doesn’t offer. If you can download Skype, you can get this, you can even access it on the offical site without downloading anything. If for some reason you can’t, we can work out a compromise, but we will pick someone with access to Discord over someone who doesn’t unless said person had that good of an audition.
Activeness
You must be active in the server and during the audition, by active we mean when we have an important meeting, we would like you to try to be there or respond when we ask if anyone’s on or any questions we may have. If you do not respond within a given time (or excessively) or miss due dates, you will lose the role and it will be given to your understudy. If you have a reason such as a death in the family, illness, or school/work, we can talk unless school/work will be that much of a problem. Please note us if anything comes up and try to give us an advanced notice if you must drop from the project all together. Commitment is important as we will most likely ask you to voice these characters for other projects.
Understudies
This is a big project. People may drop out and we will need others to take their place if need be. Don’t feel discouraged if you are, your part is just as important, people drop, people get busy. Furthermore, you will be assigned to the background characters or one offs/on and off/quick camoes. So be sure to keep up to date with everything and be active.
Be Professional
If you’re unprofessional in your audition, you will not be accepted. Make your auditions count! Stick to what we give you and nothing more, no added swearing or lines that aren’t the audition unless you want to introduce yourself, and no bloopers as much as we love them. NOTE: This does not mean we can’t have fun once someone is selected for a role. We need to know you can be ready and professional when the time comes. Bloopers happen when the actual recording begins and is highly encouraged.
Acting
Don’t simply say the lines. Give emotion to them, live through them! If you think you can do better, let us know! We will give you time to improve! We will take a good actor who can act on their own over someone who needs help, but if we feel your version of the voice is better than someone else’s acting or portrayal, we may choose that so don’t let ability or experience hold you back; acting can always be fixed, mics and voices can’t.
Raw Audio
Do NOT alter your auditions! We want to hear the raw audio and your voice as is. No altering pitches, no filters, not auto tuning, nothing that helps add inflections if that's something you can do. If we find out you have done this, you will be dropped from the project if accepted or have your audition rejected. Splicing your best lines for your audition is acceptable.
Other Notes
There are a lot of LGBT characters in this production. If this makes you uncomfortable, this isn’t the project for you.
How to Send your Auditions
You can submit your auditions on the Casting Call Club website or to the email above, only one so if you do it on CCC, all future auditions must be on CCC. Please keep all auditions to one email if emailing, don’t send multiple unless you’re sending one for an artist role and another for VA. Send them as an MP3 or WAV file please. YouTube auditions will be accepted if it's also emailed to us unless you are currently having trouble with your email for some reason, we can make acceptations.
You can audition for more than one character, but put them in separate files.

Artist Rules:Discord

To Qualify
You must send in at least 3 - 5 pieces of your current best work so we can judge if it’s what we’re looking for. If we suspect that your work for the project seems rushed and lacks quality, you will be dropped.
Activeness

Quality
You must be able to keep up with the best quality you can muster. We are not asking for highly detailed, perfect anatomy pictures, but they have to be decent and have some sense of proportions, expressions, and consistency.
Bases and Backgrounds
Bases will NOT be allowed by any means whatsoever! If you send in base work, you will not be considered. This goes for backgrounds as well. Draw your own! If you are accepted and we suspect you of using bases and find confirmation of this, you will be dropped immediately, no exceptions!
Expectations
We expect you to be able to draw anywhere between 3 - 5 images within the deadline between episodes. If you need an extension, we can talk. At most, we would like a clean lined, fully colored image. Shading isn’t a necessity, but if you have time and want to, is highly appreciated.
Violence and Triggering Scenes
In this project, there will be future episodes with some light violence or themes that may be triggering. If you don’t feel comfortable drawing for these scenes, please let us know. You will not be required to draw them and can still audition, this is here for those who may be sensitive so we know who can and can’t when assigning scenes.
SkySpirit.
SkySpirit is set 100 years after the events of the Storm King’s army invading Equestria and is about two friends going on an adventure in Equestria and beyond its borders.
However they uncover a brand new threat and with The Elements Of Harmony and its bearers gone, Equestria and its surrounding lands are in grave danger. Can the two friends find a way to defeat this threat?

A sweet and caring though sometimes fierce Cartazonon mare. She isn't a fan of confrontation but will show her fury if someone is being threatened. She has an adventurous spirit.

The vice Headmare of the struggling School of Friendship and wife to Saffron Flare. Is a sweet and kind mate but will be firm when it comes to her work position. (Minor Character. The head stallion of the struggling School of Friendship. Much like his grandfather, he is studious and takes his role very seriously even though the school doesn’t have a lot of students and struggles to stay afloat. He is very protective of Locket Heart, his vice Headmare and wife. He is also a little clumsy. (Minor Character. Appears in episode 1 but doesn’t appear again till later episodes. VA do have the option to stay as an extra and audition for later SS casting calls.)

A rebellious dragon with a kind heart. Friend and former classmate of Aurora Spirit. Has a rocky relationship with her mother and the Dragon Lord because of her friendship with a hippogriff like Aurora. She hopes to rebuild the friendships with Mount Aris and the Dragon Lands someday. (Minor Character. Appears in episode 1 but doesn’t appear again till later episodes.
