Project Overview
Skullgirls is a fast-paced, 2D fighting game developed by Reverge Labs and lead by tournament champ Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont and artist Alex “o_8” Ahad.
Drawing on the best features the genre has to offer, Skullgirls is designed to be a tournament-grade fighter while remaining approachable and engaging for the casual player.

Lab 7's only successful psychic experiment, most of Brain Drain's body was destroyed in the disaster which consumed the facility. The experience left him doubtful of human reliability, so as far as he is concerned anybody who falls short of his expectations is to be replaced. Because of this ruthless approach, he soon became the widely-feared second-in-command of Lab 0. An expert at analyzing others, he even believes he can construct superior mechanical replicas.

This is an optional improv line.
Once a normal schoolgirl named Carol, Painwheel was kidnapped by Valentine and delivered to the Anti-Skullgirls Labs’ secretive Lab Zero. There she was implanted with the synthetic Buer Drive and Gae Bolga parasites and infused with experimental Skullgirl blood, transforming her into the monster she is today. Violent and unstable as a result of these experiments, as a precaution she’s mentally controlled by Lab Zero’s powerful psychic director, Brain Drain.
Fueled by rage, she draws her power from her pain and fury. Despite that, the soul of that scared young girl still lives on inside this monstrous body, desperately fighting off the onslaught of voices that would control her.

Painwheel is a tortured, now monstrous young girl. She has a very rough, quite frightening voice.
You must be willing to, and have the proper equipment, to raise your voice for this part.
[angered/yelling] It was you! You're the one who took this life from me!
[begging] No...! I'm so close! Valentine is right there! I can make her pay for what she did to me!
[sincere/sensitive] Mom, Dad...it's me.
Valentine is the only survivor of the Last Hope, a group of special Anti-Skullgirl Lab operatives. Before meeting their end at the hands of the Skullgirl, the Last Hope worked for the mysterious Lab Zero and performed duties ranging from reconnaissance and sabotage to advanced research.
Now Valentine dutifully serves the Skullgirl, carrying out her will from the shadows. She keeps to herself, so much of her true nature and personality are unknown.

Valentine is my personal definition of "sexy anime vixen". I always imagined her with a very suggestive tone, but feel free to roam outside that.
[matter-of-factly] The shred of a soul we left you with shouldn't be enough to fight Brain Drain's control.
[aggressive] No, leave her to me! The least I can do is put her down myself - - I did create her, after all!

Double’s origins are a complete mystery. Seemingly without a will or motive of its own, this formless monster aids the Skullgirl.
Double is capable of transforming its nightmarish form into that of any person, but often appears as a smiling nun. It can frequently be found in the Grand Cathedral of the Divine Trinity, listening to confessions and attending to the catacombs beneath.

Double is a monster, for sure; akin to something you were afraid to find in your closet.
Although, all of Double's lines in this are in her nun form, so make it sweet, I think.
Also, those are her only two lines in this part of the story. Once we do the next storylines, if there are more Double lines, which there will be, you will get a call-back.
[collected] ...Lady Valentine, let us dispose of this abberation at once.

Marie Korbel, also known as Bloody Marie, is the current Skullgirl. She is the main antagonist of the series, appearing in every character's Story Mode.

I imagine her to be very cute and sweet sounding.
She is a one-line character for this project, but when the opportunity arrises, you will be getting a call back to continue as her character in the other character's stories.
[pondering] How curious: evil people made you into a monster, but you broke free of their control...

The Skull Heart is an artifact that plays a major part in the Skullgirls story. Every seven years, it grants a wish to a woman. The wish can be of any magnitude, but it comes at a price if the woman's heart is impure: the wish will be twisted and she will become a Skullgirl. The Skullgirl is controlled by the will of the Skull Heart, though a woman of particularly strong heart and will can resists its influence to a certain extent.

I'd say...make it powerful and mysterious. Although, these are the only lines, I will call back if the opportunity arrises.
