Simulation Theory | Sci-Fi Radio Drama
Project Overview
Simulation Theory is a ten-minute radio play for two actors about physicists who discover an earth-shattering secret about the nature of reality. Isolated in the Antarctic, they must decide: do they tell the world, or take this truth to the grave?
Simulation Theory will be submitted to Static Frequency magazine, a sci-fi/horror audio magazine "showcasing the strange, the unknown and the bizarre". If we are accepted there is no payment, but we will be featured on the podcast and it counts as a publication.

Lorie Alden
- Lead role.
- Woman. Thirties. Physicist.
- Passionate and casual, a bit of a joker. Uses this to cover an anxious mind that thinks a lot about the future. Cares about others a lot.
- Fast, emotional speech. Often sarcastic. Liberal with swearing and slang but this does not hide her obvious intelligence.
- Regional UK accent.
Other Information
Files can be delivered in any file format but mp3 is preferred. VAs will need their own recording setup. I'm happy to take individual line reads or the full script in one take.

Then what do you suggest, we ring up BBC news? Hello, beeb? This is Dr. Lorie Alden at research station X124 and-
All just bits and bytes. Flesh, pain, all of it. Even the fucking ice.

James Knight
- Lead Role.
- Man. Thirties. Physicist.
- Logical and uptight on the surface, but harbours a surprisingly relaxed attitude to discovering he is inside a simulation. His logic is his defence here, a sort of positive nihilism - if it's real to me, it's real.
- Precise, clipped speech. Talks in statements. When emotions become fraught he gets flustered, not angry.
- Posh English accent.
Jesus Lorie, put that down. You'd die. I'd be a murderer.
